Hey there, ‘Fetti Fans!

rc watercolor smile full

It’s Stacey here with a “gotta wear shades” bright and sunny card using some happy Reverse Confetti goodies for this week’s WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS post!

So, how did I create that BRIGHT watercolored background?!

First, grab 2-3 coordinating colors of ink pads.  I used Ranger Distress Inks Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Festive Berries.  Stamp the distress pads directly on to a craft mat using very little bold color and more of the more subtle color, then spritz liberally with water.

Next, press (and smear to desired effect) a piece of watercolor paper over your inked and water-spritzed craft mat.

Reveal the beauty and keep pressing into color until desired color and boldness is achieved.

To speed up the drying process, you can blot with a paper towel or use a heat tool.

It’s that simple!  Hope you’ll give it a try!

To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment near the bottom of the main panel, attached a couple of waves and a tag, and detailed with a bow and a few sequin sprinkles!

Creating your own watercolored background is sure to put a SMILE on your face!

What a bright and vibrant card! The watercolor background effect is just gorgeous. I’m seriously going to have to get myself some watercolor paper and finally try this technique!
