Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!
We have a SUPER SPECIAL edition of WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS today!
What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS?…
It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project. It’s us taking a closer look at how something is created, etc. A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.
A little while ago, I challenged Confetti Crew member, Amy Sheffer, to think “beyond the popsicle” with the LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts die set. This girl never fails to amaze me…her daughter even got in on all this crazy creating! Prepare to let your jaw drop and read until the very end…there might just be a chance to win one of these dies for yourself! *wink*
. . . . .
Hi ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy here today for Wednesday in the Works. I’m all about getting the most bang for your buck and stretching your supplies, so today I’ll be looking at different ways to use Reverse Confetti’s Let’s Chill popsicle dies. As a refresher, the Let’s Chill set includes three dies: the popsicle, the stick, and two rectangular cut-out pieces. Assembled, they make a pretty darn cute popsicle…
If you look at the three dies individually, though, there are loads of additional possibilities. I’m excited to show you ten ideas I’ve come up. Ready?
The large garland was made from popsicle die-cuts folded over some baker’s twine.
Sentiment is from Posted Note Sentiments.
The popsicle die makes cute tombstones.
Confetti Cuts: Let’s Chill
Also for Halloween, how about some cute ghosts? Big ghosts are from the popsicle die. Baby ghosts are done with the popsicle stick die.
Stamps: Spooky Cuties
The ghosts got me thinking about PacMan. Wouldn’t this be a fun card for a gamer? Especially a middle-aged gamer who remembers playing PacMan as a kid?
Stamps: Label Me
Trim down the popsicle piece, give it a cool watercolor look, and adhere twine to the back, and you’ve got a cute jellyfish.
This felt flower would be cute on a hair accessory. I pinched the ends of each felt petal to give the flower some dimension, then topped with a felt circle and a chipboard button.
You can even make a perfect heart by layering two popsicle die-cuts at an angle. Cool, huh?
The two skinny rectangle cut-outs die makes a great buckle. Here’s one in action on a cute Santa tote. I rounded the black belt piece with the popsicle die, too.
Stamps: Walk By Faith
The buckle works for St. Patrick’s Day, too. My daughter made this leprechaun card. The beard is done by layering orange popsicle die-cuts.
My favorite! This one uses all three Let’s Chill dies. See if you an spot them!
Popsicle: body, Stick: boots, Rectangular Cut-Outs: arms, overall straps, black headband.
Thanks for sticking with me! I hope you’re inspired to think out of the box with your die collection, too!
Want to win the LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts die set? I have 3 up for grabs! Just leave a comment with which “beyond the popsicle” project is your favorite here by Friday at noon CST. I’ll pick 3 random winners and post here on Saturday. Thanks for joining us today and good luck!
