WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

Hello, ‘Fetti Fans!

We are so excited to announce our first retreat coming in Fall of 2016…

Retreat2016

I’ll be teaching classes on Friday and Saturday and you will take home a dozen cards, learning tips and tricks and LOTS more!

I sure hope you’ll join me for a fun fill weekend!

Happy Wednesday and welcome to a new WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

Today, we have a special WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS brought to you by Confetti Crew Member, Amy Sheffer.

What is Wednesday in the Works?

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  It’s us taking a closer look at how something is created, etc.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

Hi ‘Fetti friends, it’s Amy here with today’s Wednesday in the Works. Or maybe we should call this one Wednesday in the [What if Nothing] Works”! For the past week or so, I’ve been facing a common crafty dilemma — no mojo. One thing that can be super helpful when the creativity just isn’t flowing is to pick out one of your own favorite cards to CASE. That’s exactly what I’ve done today!
Here’s the original:

And here’s today’s CASE:

I used the same layout and stamp set (Labeled) and just changed out the colors and mix of papers. The papers on today’s card all come from the Life in Color collection by Simple Stories.

I used the Stamped Note Confetti Cuts die set for the postage edge floral panel. The sentiment, from Labeled is white embossed on a Give Thanks Label die-cut. Using the emboss-resist technique, I sponged light pink ink onto the label, which revealed the sentiment.

Just like with the original, I embellished with some Maraschino Solid Twine, Leafy Confetti Cuts, and Layered Laurels Confetti Cuts.

What’s your favorite way to get your mojo back? Do you stamp your way through it or take a break?

  1. Use a different creative medium, look at magazines, go to an art show, take a walk to a new place, the fun is you know the mojo will return eventually!

  2. Love Amy’s gorgeous cards….the retreat! I want to go!

  3. Take a walk, breathe in the air and look at the sky.

  4. Lovely card.

  5. Wow, Amy, if that’s called “lack of mojo”, I want some!!! When I find myself in a creative rut, I usually pick up a book (LOL). Sometimes, I need to take a break from cardmaking, and reading books is another of my favourite activities. Another way to get my mojo back on??? Hang out with my card-making gal pals. Guaranteed to kickstart my desire to get inky again 🙂

  6. Amy, I love your card! The little heart label is too cute! Those creative black holes happen! Read, BIG Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. I read it during some down time on vacation and it really changed up my perspective!
Traveling to Austin the week of Nov 5, surely I should just come a week early for this fun sounding retreat!

  7. Why oh why do I have to live on the east coast!! I would give my eye teeth to be at the retreat. Do you think you could do video classes?
