Greetings, ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Wednesday!
We have a super fun and inspiring post for you today brought to you by, Confetti Crew member, Amy Sheffer…
Hello ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy S. here with this week’s Wednesday in the Works. I’ve always been a big fan of the nautical theme, so the June release, especially Seaside, has been particularly inspiring for me. For today’s Wednesday in the Works, I decided to explore some different nautical color combos. What do you first think of when you think nautical? Shades of blue? Red, white, and blue? Maybe some yellow or some gold or even some bright orange? How about the crisp white of a naval dress uniform?
I’ve put together three different nautical combos for today:
The first (and my favorite), features red, white, and blue, with a tiny pop of metallic gold:
I started with a white Topped Off Tag, added a Scalloped Tag Layer Confetti Cuts for a crisp white-on-white look, then finished with a couple of offset Triple Chevies Confetti Cuts and a stamped anchor from Seaside.
Combo #2 starts with shades of blue and adds in some light and dark gray and a warm, golden yellow:
For this tag, I started with a navy blue Topped Off Tag, then used the Topped Off Tag die to cut out a portion of a light gray Big Stripes Cover Panel. The stitching detail around the circle was done with the Detailed Circles Confetti Cuts die set, and the medium blue circle with the dot detail around the perimeter was done with the Flowers For Mom Confetti Cuts die set. I added a golden yellow star from the Seeing Stars Confetti Cuts die set and finally, a stamped anchor from Seaside.
My last combo brings in a bright green, perhaps not the first color we think of for a nautical theme, but I think it works:
I stamped the sentiment at an angle on the bottom of a navy blue Topped Off Tag, then trimmed it on the diagonal and layered it onto a white Topped Off Tag. I added light blue and light gray strips, also on the diagonal, as well as a die-cut row of holes that I did with the Edge Essentials Confetti Cuts die. Last is a bright green stamped anchor (from Seaside) and some wood veneer stars.
Here’s another look at the tag trio:
I’d love to hear what some of your favorite nautical color combos are. Share them with us in the comments below! Thanks so much for joining me today!
