Hi there, Amy S here today with a new Reverse Confetti Wednesday in the
Works video. This week, I’m using the Leaf Lattice Stencil to create
some beautiful ink-blended backgrounds.
I’ve created two cards, same design, just different colors and sentiments.
This first one blends Flamingo and Buttercup in the background. I’m
really liking the light touch you get with stencil brushes, or in this
case, an inexpensive make-up brush (thank you Laurie Willison for that
money-saving tip!). I find they have a lighter touch all the way around, so
your ink blending can be super light (or just keep adding for more
saturation and intensity). Also, I find there’s less pressure on the
stencil, so it doesn’t shift during the ink blending.
The *Round Top Tag* with the window cut out makes a great neutral layer on
the card and is the perfect way to frame a stamped Simply Sentiments
I added a stamped, colored, and die-cut panda bear from Miso Happy, along
with a paper pieced ballon from Take Flight. The pink diagonal striped
pattern is from the True Love 6×6 Paper Pad. I can’t remember the last
time I paper pieced! Such a shame, as it’s so quick and easy and adds great
pattern and visual texture.
The baby panda looks especially adorable holding the balloon! This time I
paper pieced the balloon with a pattern from the Pattern Play 6×6 Paper
Although the pandas look fantastic just stamped in black ink and left
uncolored, I added some rosy cheeks and some warm gray shadowing around the
faces and bodies just to bring them to life a bit more.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
