Hi there, Amy S. here today. So happy to be joining you for Wednesday in the Works! I’m enamored with the adorable monsters in the new Monsterous stamp set, and have had such fun coloring them in different ways! For today’s card, I went with two-tone, Copic-colored monsters. It always seems a little tricky mixing two different colors, as opposed to two shades of the same color. Gotta be careful not to get some weird brownish mess in the middle, right? I’ve found that I get the best results when I faded each color out to its very lightest hues, and do the blending between colors in that very lightest area of color. Don’t forget, you can also touch your Copics tip-to-tip for blending assistance! I gave my monsters spots in darker shades of the same two colors, and then coated their eyes with glossy accents. They are just soooo stinkin’ cute!
I’ve been on a circle kick with my designs lately, and this one is no exception. Each monster is popped up on a white circle (both cut from Premier Polar White card stock using dies from the Detailed Circles Confetti Cuts set. The sentiment tag is cut with one of the Tag Duo Confetti Cuts dies, then stamped with a Haunt It sentiment and white embossed. For some added color, I added some horizontal strips of patterned paper. The purple and green are from Fright Night, and the yellow is from the new Every Little Bit paper collection. That awesome stitched grassy hill border is part of the Nuts About You Confetti Cuts set, and I am nuts about it!
That’s it for me this week! So glad you stopped by!
