In this weekly (Thursday) segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations.
For this round each of our designers are CASE-ing a card created from one of the other Confetti Crew members. In stamping terms, CASE means to Copy And Stamp Exactly. The Crew is taking a previously made card and making it new. This is a fun way to see what you can do with your stamps and, I think, that it helps you grow as a creative person as it requires you to think outside the box a bit.
A couple of things to note:
1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.
2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.
In the spotlight today is the super sweet and talented JEANNE JACHNA…
I’m a huge fan of all the design team members on the Confetti Crew. It was so hard to choose a project to CASE! I LOVE THEM ALL!!! I finally settled on this beautify from Amy Rohl. She made this one for the March SFYTT!
They say “opposites attract” and I suppose that’s true because I was smitten with the clean design and neutral colors on her design.
My version of Amy’s card kept true to the layout using the same sentiment and feathers from Boho Vibes, but I added lots of color and a few more layers.
I added a gold glitter Scalloped Circle under the sentiment that was cut with a pierced Detailed Circle. The feathers were stamped in black, die cut and mounted to Stitched Flag Trio Confetti Cuts.
I even added a few wood veneer stars and washi as embellishments just like Amy!
It’s fun to see how you can switch up a design from your favorite designer and make it all your own! What will you make today?
Hi there, it’s Amy S. here today with a new Wednesday in the Works project
and video. Today’s idea is one I’ve been saving for a while just for
Easter. I’ve put together a stained glass inlaid cross design using the Linked
Circles Cover Panel Confetti Cuts die.
To begin, I created two panels for the “glass” parts. One is a background
panel loosely based on sky and grass colors. I did this panel with Distress
Oxide inks. First time playing with those, and I have to say I love them!
The second panel is a shimmery gold panel that will be die-cut and inlaid
to build the cross. For the “lead” parts, I die-cut the Linked Circles
Cover Panel from Lead card stock and then added some metallic sheen.
Only the cross pieces are inlaid. The other openings are just showing through to
the background. (Much easier to assemble the cover panel and cross pieces
onto the Distress Oxide background than to inlay both the cross and
background onto a separate panel, if that makes sense!)
Finishing touches are a floral cluster made up of paper flowers, Leafy
die-cuts, and the floral branch and tiny tag die-cuts from the Flower Wrap
Confetti Cuts set.
On a personal note…I am singing from the mountains because I had my 5th (of 6) chemo infusions yesterday for this phase of the treatment plan. I still have a long road ahead of me, but I am so excited that I can see the light at the end of this tunnel.
On a professional/Reverse Confetti note…Our retired products are selling quickly. Don’t miss out on a chance to save BIG on THESEproducts. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
. . . . .
If you haven’t played along with this month’s sketch for you to try already, we sure hope that you will! Here’s the sketch…
As some of you read this, I am sitting at the ball fields watching my lil’ slugger play baseball. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite past times. I hope that you have a fun weekend planned, too! I’m getting all the fun, friends and family in before I have to go back to chemo on Monday. This will be round 5 of 6 of this protocol. Needless to say, I am ready to get this part of treatment behind me! Thanks so much for all of your love and support!
As you know, we switched back to every other month releases but we are still hopping on the 8th of every month. Today is a special hop, too, as we are announcing our retirement list. We’re saying good-bye to some of our older products as we make room for new goodies in the warehouse…and you get to save big!
>>>Full hop list at the end of this post<<<
Before I get to the retirement list, I’d like to share a project with you featuring product that is NOT retiring (at least not now)…
You may have seen the little sneak peek of this project that I posted on Instagram yesterday (we hope you are following us). Using the dashed lines in the ELEMENTAL STRIPES stamp set, I created my own patterned paper by stamping it in Iced Aqua, Navy and Flamingo Confetti Colors inks. From there, I cut out 2 butterflies (BUTTERFLY DREAMS Confetti Cuts), and sewed them together to create the butterfly on this card…
On the card base, I stamped the “oh, happy day” from the WITH LOVE stamp set in NAVY ink. I then popped up a frame from the ALL FRAMED UP Confetti Cuts die set and placed the butterfly inside the frame.
As I looked at the card, it needed a little something and I added the ICED AQUA and NAVY cardstock strips on the sides of the frame. It was just the “something” that the card needed.
. . . . .
It’s never easy to say good-bye, but it’s time for some Reverse Confetti products to retire as we move forward bringing you new goodies every other month.
