I'm so excited to be here today sharing a fun and festive Christmas project with you! I love having all kinds of different gift giving options on hand during the holidays. With 4 of my 5 kids in school and a family that is heavily involved in our community and church, it's always nice to have gifts like this to give to teachers, staff, friends, etc.

I didn't actually have a clear vision of how this project would turn out, but I did know that I wanted to use the fabulous new Joys of the Season stamp set. I started by stamping quite a few images and then got to work coloring them with Copic markers. Once that was done, I used the coordinating Joys of the Season Confetti Cuts to die cut everything. I used a 2 way glue pen and some coarse glitter to sprinkle over portions of the die cuts! I set them aside and got to work on the pockets.

I used the Scalloped Bag and Tags Creator Confetti Cuts to die cut the front and the back pieces of these pockets. I used the new This & That 6 by 6 Paper Pad in all of the Christmas-y patterns that I had 2 sheets of! LOL! I added a strip of coordinating paper to the bottom of each panel, but just on the front. I made sure I only used adhesive on the top and I didn't have it go all the way to the edge so it wouldn't gum up my sewing machine needle. I stitched around the perimeter using white thread. If you don't sew or don't have access to a machine, you could simply use adhesive on bottom and the two sides.

I was so thrilled to remember to use this fabulous Fold Over Tag Confetti Cuts for the front. It is perfect for this project because it's a gift, a tag, and a card all in one! I love the idea that I can just leave this on a desk or doorstep and it has a place for me to not only say who it is to and from, but also to leave a salutation for the season!

I added the tags to the front of the sewn paper pockets using foam squares and then embellished the tags using the die cut stamped images. The focal image tags have a length of ribbon threaded through and then I tied a bow of twine with the tags that are included in the Scallop Bag and Tags Creator Confetti Cuts (linked above). I stamped the sentiments using the Christmas Circles stamp set and added them to the circle tags using foam squares as well.
I tucked a candy cane in the pocket for photography purposes, but it can hold so much more! I'm thinking some candy, a gift card, maybe a small hand lotion or lip gloss, etc. Because they are sewn, they can easily hold quite an assortment of gifts.

I ended up making 4 of these pockets and I can't wait to put them to use this upcoming holiday season! You could also try these in autumn colors as well for a Halloween or Thanksgiving treat! These would also be awesome to hold silverware for a place setting during the holidays! Thanks for stopping by today!
