Howdy, Howdy!

It’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY…on Wednesday!  (Since we had our NEW RELEASE HOP on Monday, we shifted our normal Monday and Tuesday posts by just a day).

On the new release hop, I showed you a tag that I had attached to an envie.  Well, I had cut out several of those tags with the intention of being able to grab them and make more as I needed.  When I sat down to make this TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY, I decided to grab one, along with the new ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS and WHOLE LOTTA DOTS sets to create this card…

I started by stamping the large dots from the WHOLE LOTTA DOTS set in white and then stamping the word “AWESOME” from the ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS set vertically in black ink.  The pink and orange enamel dots were added to match the polka dot chevrons (from the ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS set).  The black and white baker’s twin was tied around the pink ribbon to bring together the black on the tag.

 Tags aren’t only for popping on a gift. I love being able to add tags to card, like I have shown here or even to an envie like I shared the other day. The color scheme and sentiment can easily be changed out on this design to create a card (or a tag) for anyone for any occasion!

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!

Welcome to the NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP!  Today, the Confetti Crew, the ‘Fetti Faves and a couple special friends are sharing some AWESOME projects using the FOUR NEW SETS.  Sit back, relax and enjoy this hop.  And, in case you get lost along the way, there is a full list of hoppers at the bottom of this post.

My hop projects use a little something from each of these sets.  First is a card that uses INNER ROCK STAR, ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS and WHOLE LOTTA DOTS…

When I first started playing with this set, I knew that I wanted to do a gold embossed record.  SOLID GOLD, BABY!…

Breaking out the embossing powder is kind of a big deal for me.  I always end up getting it everywhere and driving me crazy.  However, I was feeling a little adventurous and not only embossed the gold record, but I also embossed the WHOLE LOTTA DOTS along the left side of the card.  I love black embossing on a black panel.  Also, notice that you can easily line up this pattern to make it as long as you want/need…

My next project combines CELEBRATE CAKE along with ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS.  I love making tags and I thought that it would be super cute to add it to an envelope to dress it up a little.  The recipient’s name can be put on the dotted line is which is from our I LIKE YOU set.  My sweet daughter, Ellie, turns 7 today and I will be writing her name on the line and filling the envie with some Despicable Me 2 movie tickets…

The tag was cut out with my Silhouette.  The triangles at the bottom are the triangles from the CELEBRATE CAKE set, which can also be used as an ice cream cone or party hat.  I am all about versatility, especially when it works with trends, too!

Our final set reveal and sneak peeks are for ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS, a fun and very versatile set that was created to use in all of your paper crafting and scrapbooking projects.  This set contains 17 stamps, including very trendy chevrons and arrows, as well as fun sentiments that fit inside the the striped rectangle.

This week is full of celebrations.  Not only is REVERSE CONFETTI releasing 4 NEW STAMPS SETS (tonight!), but 2 very special people are celebrating birthdays. The first of these celebrations is for my dad! Today is his 75th birthday.  Happy Birthday, Dad!  In addition to tomorrow being release day, it’s also my daughter’s 7th birthday…just part of the reason we are releasing the CELEBRATE CAKE set this month!

Our second set reveal and sneak peeks are for the latest addition to our KEY WORDS COLLECTION: CELEBRATE CAKE.  Just like the DREAM IN COLOR set from our inaugural release, you can mix and match the words to create a variety of sentiments.  This set of 18 stamps contains the key words CELEBRATE & CAKE, as well as images that can be used in numerous ways (just wait until you see what Susan did with them)!

Here’s how you can play with them…

It’s always fun to give (and get) handmade cards and gifts whenever there is a reason to celebrate.  With that in mind, I created a gable box (cut from the Silhouette) with a matching card with bright, cheery colors.  Just like yesterday, a quick switch of the color palette makes this set suitable for gals and guys!

Did you notice the polka dots?  They’re from another one of the sets being released on July 8th!  I’m a big fan of dots, so of course, I had to add them to the Reverse Confetti line-up.  Versatile, playful and fun are just a few words that come to mind with all of these dots!  Use them on a cardstock (or pattern paper!) panel or create a panel by using them on your card base alone.

So, without further adieu let me introduce WHOLE LOTTA DOTS.  You may have seen them make an appearance yesterday on some of the projects by the Confetti Crew and you are sure to see more of them on the sneak peek and hop projects…

The first set reveal and sneak peeks for this release are for our new INNER ROCK STAR set.  It’s a fun and playful set of 12 stamps that can be used on all kinds of cards and projects!  You may recognize the stars from the upper right of this graphic as part of the 4th of July patriotic rosettes I posted yesterday.  This is just one of FOUR sets being released on July 8th.  You may even see another set on one of the Confetti Crew’s posts!

As a mom of 2, I often feel that what I do for one, I must do for the other.  Being that I have a girl and a boy, it’s not always so easy.  However, with a simple switch of a color palette and a punch circle, I took this set from glam rock to guy rock in no time and have a card for both of them.

For the “boy version,” I punched a small circle and placed it over the heart in the middle of the guitar.  While I think that it would have been fine to leave it as is, it gave me an excuse to use a sequin (or 5!) without it making the card too feminine…

Howdy and Happy Monday!  Before I get to the newest SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY, I just wanted to remind everyone that we are just a week away from our next release.  Stay tuned this week for sneak peeks and a chance to win!

It’s July 1st and it’s time for this month’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY!  We’re keepin’ it pretty simple again this month and there are a lot of chances for you to make it your own.  Be sure to link up your creations to the link list at the bottom of this post.

I had so many ideas for this sketch!  At first I was going to switch the circle out with a label shape, but then I came across something that was ombre and decided that was the direction that I wanted to take.  I stuck with the circle, like shown on the sketch, and used my Silhouette to cut a variety of different size hearts.  The size of the hearts, as well as the intensity of the aqua increased as they got lower on the circle…

As you can see, there are a few other creative liberties taken with this sketch, but “the bones” are still there.  I really encourage you to let your creativity help you make this your own!  My liberties were a bit accidental, as the circle/heart panel came out a wee bit bigger than I anticipated.  Short on time, and figuring that everything happens for a reason, I just went with it.

I took some pics along the way so that you can see how I created the ombre heart panel.

First, I cut the circle panel with the hearts from my Silhouette and punched out some circles in the 3 colors I used to create the ombre effect.  The punched circles are attached to the reverse side…

TIP: To avoid a gooey glue-y mess, use a little glue around the hearts and then put the circles on top of it.

I’m a glue person, but I understand you may be using a tape runner.  If so, just apply the adhesive to the heart panel instead of the punched circles so that you will avoid any adhesive showing through on the other side.

Here’s the completed reverse side…

This panel is attached to a large white cardstock mat with dimensional adhesive and then added to the card, also with dimensional adhesive.

Why am I switching things up?  Glad you asked!

Last week when I was writing the ‘Fetti Find post which also had the ‘Fetti Fave voting, along with the new link list I got to thinking that it was all a little confusing.  Also, in talking with the design team and others, I found that people are not interested in the voting for the ‘Fetti Fave and that there is a concern that it would turn into a popularity contest.  Taking my own feelings into account, as well as the comments from I others I decided to tweak a few things…for the better!

Each Monday we’ll be posting:

• The ‘FETTI FINDS from the previous week’s link list.
  
• A new link list at the bottom of the ‘Fetti Find post.  It will remain open through Saturday of that week.
  

NOTE: You’ll be able to find the current ‘Fetti Find post quickly by clicking on the button the sidebar.

The last day of the month:

• The ‘FETTI FAVE will be announced here on the Reverse Confetti blog.  This will be one of the ‘Fetti Finds from that month and they will be chosen based on their project and creative use of REVERSE CONFETTI stamps.  The ‘FETTI FAVE will receive the ENTIRE NEXT STAMP RELEASE and be invited to play along with the Confetti Crew for sneak peek days and the new release hop.

Just a couple of rules…

• Anything goes, as long as Reverse Confetti stamps are the only stamps used OR are the main focal point of the project.
• No limit to the number of projects linked, but they must be posted to your blog or gallery that same week (no linking older projects).

It’s the CONFETTI CREW that has been “bringin’ it” all week!  These girls never cease to amaze me with their talent.  Here’s what they came up with this week…

Amy S.  has such a beautiful style!  I always love looking at all the details to her creations, especially this one using I LIKE YOU.

Heather’s I LIKE YOU creation is just too cute!  Who wouldn’t love a giftie topped with this tag!?

Val’s I LIKE YOU card simply makes me smile!  Her use of colors, fresh design and that lil’ bit of sparkle are just perfect!

Savannah’s card using DREAM IN COLOR is so graphic and fun!  I love how fun this card is that she cut her stamps to make her own sentiment…clever!

Amber’s PEACOCK PRETTIES card is just so pretty!  Great details and a fun take on the sketch she used!

WOW, does this pack a punch of bright fun summer-y color!  Dawn’s card uses the same sketch as Amber’s card above and even uses PEACOCK PRETTIES, too.  I love how different designers can come up with different takes on the same sketch (inspiration, etc.).  Way to go, girls!
