WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By Jen del Muro
on April 15, 2015

Hello, ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Wednesday!

We have a very special WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS for you today!

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between. Today, Confetti Crew member Amy Sheffer, has a super awesome way to add dimension, color and WOW FACTOR to your card using the new GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die.

. . . . .

AmySIntroPic

Hi ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy today, with this week’s Wednesday in the Works. I love the new GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die, and wanted to share with you a prism idea I came up with. I was in the process of creating a shaker using this die, and had about six or so white GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts panels cut, so that I could build up enough depth for a shaker. When I went to stack the die-cuts together, they were ever so slightly out of alignment. I thought it looked really cool, and would look even cooler with rainbow panels instead of all white. So I got to work cutting out one panel from white glitter paper, and 7 more ROYGBIV panels.

 RCgeometric_wiw041515_1-1_aks

I used liquid glue to adhere the layers to one another, which gave me enough dry time that I could slide each panel right into the desired offset position. To keep the liquid glue mess in check, I only used the glue at the intersections and around the perimeter. That seemed to be plenty of glue to hold everything together.

 RCgeometric_wiw041515_1-2_aks

The sentiment, from SHINE FROM WITHIN, is heat embossed in white onto a vellum banner, then layered onto more of the same glitter paper that I used for the top layer of the prism.

 RCgeometric_wiw041515_1-3_aks

An ombre version of this would look great too! Just use different shades of the same color.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope your day is filled with sparkle and color!

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By Jen del Muro
on April 14, 2015

Hello and Happy Tuesday ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s  TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY and I have a super fun and easy card to share with you that uses some of the new April release goodies.

What kind of cards to you send?  For me aside from holidays, it’s birthday, friend/hello, thank you and sympathy for the most part.  I love sending a card just to send one and I know that the person on the other end gets a smile from it.  Seriously, when is the last time you got snail mail “just because?”

This card is the perfect card for just that “occasion…”

HelloNote

I stamped the word “hello” from the new COLOR ME HAPPY stamp set on the lined card from the Piña Colada QUICK CARD PANELS. Then layered it with a white die cut from the HELLO Confetti Cuts die.  It needed just a little something, so I added the banner/flag from the new LAYERED BANNER DUO Confetti Cuts set and stitched across.

I added that panel to a card base that I had already adhered patterned paper and gray cardstock to and viola…easy peasy “just because” hello card…

CONFETTI CAMERA

By Jen del Muro
on April 09, 2015

Greetings, ‘Fetti Fans!

What an incredible week it’s been so far!  And we’re continuing to share more inspiration using the new products (along with some “old”) on today’s CONFETTI CAMERA.

In case you missed it, last week we kicked off a new round/theme of Confetti Camera…THROWBACK PROJECTS!  I’m really excited about the projects that the Confetti Crew has to share with you during this round, as I am sure that it will bring back some memories…I know that it has for me!

ConfettiCameraRCblog

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from throwback projects from each of our designers.  I have been stamping for a long time and I have seen things come and go and then come around.  A primary example of this is shaker cards.  We’re taking a look back to those “way back when” projects and breathing new life into them.

A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

Today on Confetti Camera is the so sweet and incredibly talented, KATHY MARTIN

KathyMartinIntro

. . . . .

During my years of paper crafting, there have been a lot of card styles and techniques that have come and gone and then emerged once again with a new twist. Browsing some card archives I noticed a couple different styles that were popular years ago and have recently resurfaced …transparency cards and the shaker technique. Today I combined both for my Camera Confetti project, along with the new LEAPING LIONS stamps and LEAPING LIONS Confetti Cuts dies.

150327-Wild-About-You-II

I used to enjoy making clear cards once upon a time and back then they were made with regular office supply transparencies. Today you can find lots of printed transparencies that make these kinds of cards more fun and colorful to create.

150327-Wild-About-You-Lion

Even though shaker cards have been around for quite some time, I’ve never made one until today! Reverse Confetti’s new SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts make this technique too easy to pass up and the results…super fun!

I have had so much fun playing with this release and I just know that you are going to love creating with it, too!

My first project I have to share with you today is a tassel garland that I created using the new TASSEL Confetti Cuts die…

TassleGarland

Needless to say, not only have I had a little bit of fun creating with this new Confetti Cuts die, but I have also had a blast shopping for tissue paper.  Imagine my jaw dropping when I saw this gorgeous gold “tissue” paper at Michaels just after I picked up the black and white stripey one at Target.  I could not get home fast enough to make this!

Detail shot…

TassleGarlandDetail

. . . . .

This next card that I have to share with you uses the same color palette.  I have to admit that was not planned at all.  Apparently, my subconscious knew what it was doing when it kept me reaching for these colors!

GeometricHello

This card features the new GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die along with the new HELLO Confetti Cuts die.

I cut the GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND from a piece of white cardstock and then adhered it to a white cardstock base.  I then cut it from gold shimmer cardstock and filled in the triangles on the one adhered to the card base.

The HELLO Confetti Cuts die is cut from a couple of pieces of black cardstock and layered for a little extra depth.

GeometricHelloDetail

As evident from many of my release projects, I just can’t keep away from the sequins!  I layered 2 sizes and topped them off with an enamel flatback pearl here as my finishing touch to this card.

COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI: Fancy Words

on April 07, 2015

Howdy ‘Fetti Fans!

All of the new products…5 new stamp sets, 8 new Confetti Cuts die sets and the new *limited edition* Piña Colada Quick Card Panels… will be available in the store tonight at midnight EST.  We still have a couple of more product introductions to share with you today and don’t forget to get those comments in for a chance to win!

. . . . .

ConfettiCountdown

Just a note…all of our releases will happen on the 8th of the month…just not every month.  We generally release new product every other month.  This is a special release, as April is usually a non-release month for us. We’ll still be hopping on the 8th, whether there is a release or not.  Just remember, “Eight is Great!”

. . . . .

Don’t forget to leave a comment here and on each sneak peek post this week for a chance to win!

In addition to having a chance to win just by leaving a comment on the sneak peek posts, we are also running a Facebook promotion.  After you are done checking out the sneak peeks, head on over to OUR FACEBOOK PAGE and look for this graphic pinned to the top of our feed…

NextRelease

On Facebook, simply leave a comment under the graphic.  One person that comments on the graphic by 1pm EST **TODAY** will be randomly chosen to win a $15 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store.  Winners for both the blog comments and Facebook comments will be announced here on the Reverse Confetti blog as well as on Facebook.

. . . . .

As you may know, I love to mix and match my stamps and Confetti Cuts dies with each other.  With that concept in mind, I wanted to develop an all word/sentiment stamp and Confetti Cuts die combination.  These two products work fabulously together and, of course, play nicely with many of our other stamp and Confetti Cuts die sets.

Introducing…

FANCY WORDS

FancyWords

And…

FANCY WORD COORDINATES

FancyWordCoordinatesProductGraphic

. . . . .

My first card that I have to share with you today, features the new FANCY WORD Confetti Cuts and the coordinating stamp set, as well as, the new SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts die set (I told you this one wasn’t leaving my desk **wink**).

Shaker1

I created the shaker box using the medium and large rounded squares from the SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts die set and then added in some confetti die cuts (part of the die set) and mini sequins.  From there, I embellished the outside of the shaker box with the word “friend” from the new FANCY WORDS Confetti Cuts, a banner from the new LAYERED BANNER DUO Confetti Cuts die set and a  heart from the (previously released, and very loved) LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set…

ShakerDetail

The stamped sentiment “i can always count on you” is stamped under the shaker box in VersaFine ink.  To “frame” the shaker box I added a strip of gray cardstock to both the top and bottom of the card base.

Shaker2

. . . . .

I just know that I am going to get a ton of use out of this “birthday” word and sentiment combination!

Birthday1

The white paint/black stripes Piña Colada QUICK CARD PANEL was the *perfect* backdrop for the banner created with the new LAYERED BANNER DUO Confetti Cuts die set (stars from OH MY STARS).

Birthday3

I added the word “birthday” in mint green and then stamped the “let’s celebrate” sentiment right beneath it.

Birthday2

. . . . .

My third and final card today features the FANCY WORD Confetti Cuts dies and coordinating stamp set along with “stripes” made from the new COLOR ME HAPPY stamp set and (previously released) LOVE BLOOMS stamp and Confetti Cuts dies.

I love how this entire card came out…

Thanks1

This card really came together quite quickly, making it an “in the pocket” design that I’ll be holding onto for when I need a fast thank you (I know you’ve been there, too).  Of course, it will work for any of the sentiment combinations available with the FANCY WORDS Confetti Cuts dies and stamp set sentiment combinations.  Just switch out the colors and embellishments to personalize for your needs.

Thanks2

. . . . .

Enough of my stuff…it’s time to see what the fabulous Confetti Crew has come up with to share with you today using these great new products!

Just a reminder…all of the new goodies will be available tonight at midnight EST and we’ll be hopping tomorrow for one more dose of “Confetti Creativity” with all the new stuff.

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By Jen del Muro
on March 31, 2015

Hello and Happy Tuesday, ‘Fetti Fans!

Today I have a fun little card to share with you on our TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY post.

By “little card,” I really do mean a LITTLE card!  I was messing around with some scraps and came up with a way to get three mini cards from one sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ piece of paper.  Now, I know that it’s about 99.99+% probable that I didn’t “invent” this way of getting 3 cards from a piece of cardstock, but it’s kind of new to me, as I am such a fan of A2, and I want to share it with you!

First, here’s my little card measuring 3 3/8″ x 4 1/4″…

HelloSunshine1

Here’s the card next to one of the others that I posted last week, to give you a better idea of the dimensions…

HelloSunshineNext

I had a lot of fun playing around with this card size.  You’ll be seeing more of it in our Countdown to Confetti for the SPECIAL APRIL RELEASE (sneak peeks start Sunday)!

Here’s a template for how to get three cards from just one sheet of paper.  Card base #2 shows the dimensions of each card.

To create these 3 cards…

1. Along the 11″ side, cut at 6.75.”  Taking the larger piece, cut in 2 at 4.25″ along the 8.5″ side.  Score these 2 pieces at 3.375″ (3 3/8″).

2. Take the remaining piece and trim long side to 6.75″ and then score in the center at 3.375″

CardTemplate

This card features one of the sentiments from the March Release set, SHINE BRIGHT, along with new SUN ‘N CLOUDS and Documented (Rounded Rectangle) Confetti Cuts dies.  I layered the sun for added dimension and added a little bling with rhinestone…

HelloSunshineSide

Want to know what’s extra great about these cards?  In addition to them being a super sweet size, they still fit great in your A2 envelopes. You could also punch a hole through the top left to create a tag/card combo.

I’ll be slipping this one into my daughter’s lunchbox for a midday pick-me-up!
