QUIRKY CUTIES HOP

By admin
on July 24, 2014

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

Instead of Confetti Camera, today we are having a super fun hop with super fun prizes!

If you are looking for the start of the hop, you are in the right place!  There’s a full list of hoppers later in this post in case of any breaks.

. . . . .

Today’s hop is all about our QUIRKY CUTIES line of stamps here at Reverse Confetti.

Originally, “Quirky Cuties” was going to be a single set.  However, I am a little indecisive and I just *love* how fun these cuties are, so I developed them into an entire line.  So far, we have four cuties…with more coming with each release.

Today, I am sharing a card I made with our very first cutie, FREIDA FOX.

FreidaProductSheet200

QCHOPCard

Frieda is ton of fun to color, paper piece or just leave as line art!  It’s just one of the reasons that I adore this image (ok, well, I adore all of them).

I used my Copics to color her fur, flower and shoes and then I paper pieced her dress, scarf and heart.  Here is she is on circle panels cut from the new CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts.  I went with white on white for those panels so that Freida would stand out more.

Detail pic of Freida Fox and the heart topped with Diamond Glaze…

QCHOPCard2

To embellish the card, I cut out the large heart from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set and topped it with a button tied off with green linen thread.  I also added a trio of colorful enamel dots to mimic the pattern paper.

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on July 23, 2014

Hey, hey ‘Fetti Fans!

We have had several inquiries to when the FABULOUS FLAMINGO stamp set will be back in stock.  While I do not have an exact date as of yet, I do want you to know that it has been re-ordered and we have requested that it ships to us as soon as possible.  When our inventory is replenished, we will update our Facebook page and send out a newsletter.  If you are not connected to either/both of those, please click the graphics with links below.

. . . . .

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

Today, I’m focusing on fun ways to use your CONFETTI CUTS dies

I actually came up with this project idea while making the card that I shared yesterday.  I am all about getting the most use/creativity from products, and I keep that in mind when designing stamps and Confetti Cuts dies.  For today’s project I created a floral notecard set, but I did not use any floral stamps or Confetti Cuts.

SunflowerCards

Can you tell what I used to create this flower and leaves?

SunflowerCards2

To create this flower with leaves:

First, I cut 1 small scalloped circle from the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set from yellow cardstock.

Then, I cut 1 small circle from brown cardstock using the same die set and stamp with even lines from SO STRIPEY, attach to yellow scallop circle using dimensional adhesive.

Of course, I had to add enamel dots for embellishment.

The large leaf is cut from green cardstock using the lemon/lime die from the FRESH ‘N FRUITY Confetti Cuts die set.  I stamped it with the large dots from WHOLE LOTTA DOTS and scored it down the center (for a more leafy look).

The other leaf is the large leaf stamp and Confetti Cuts, also from FRESH ‘N FRUITY.

Isn’t that a fun way to create a flower?

As for the rest of the card…

The sentiment is from the LOTS TO SAY stamp set and is stamped on the rounded rectangle from the CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts die set, cut from kraft paper and mounted on the scalloped rectangle from LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set.  The entire panel is mounted to the white card base using dimensional adhesive.

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on July 22, 2014

Hello sweet ‘Fetti Fans!

I am so thrilled I got to PLAY in the studio/office recently.  In addition to packing orders, designing CHRISTMAS (yes, that is what I said) stamp (and Confetti Cuts, of course!!), I have been doing a bit of a studio/office reorganization.  When we moved to Houston, I had to get everything functional…fast.  If you are anything like me, you know that just functional is kind of boring.  Yes, the studio/office HAS to be functional and organized, but I needed a bit more of me and my creative side infused into it.  So, that just what I did…after I added more functional storage.  I’ll be showing pics next week, if all goes as according to plan and everything that is scheduled to be delivered is delivered on time.  Yea, about those deliveries…I’m looking forward to sharing those with you, as well.

And, while I am being a bit of a tease…

Mark Your Calendars:

Thursday, July 24th

It all starts here on the Reverse Confetti blog.

And, yes, there will be prizes.  A few of them, in fact.

. . . . .

Well, it’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY!  What I CAN share with you right now is this scrappy card that I made while I was playing in the studio…

Congratulations2

My kiddos’ former babysitter is getting married next month.  Instead of a traditional style wedding card, I went with something that matched her personality…fun, cool and hip (that’s totally what this card says, right?) *wink*

Congratulations

I used the rounded rectangle from the CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts die set as a base for the CHEVRON PRETTY PANEL Confetti Cuts. The base is in a lighter share of gray so that the chevrons pop out (subtly) against it.  I adhered those to the white card base and stamped the “congratulations” sentiment (BEAUTIFUL BANNERS stamp set), just offset.  From there I built the main “image” panel.  The base of it is the smaller scalloped/debossed circle from the new CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set, topped with the smallest circle from the same set, stamped/heat embossed with the small dots from WHOLE LOTTA DOTS.  Then, I topped it all off with flowers from the PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts die set and an enamel dot.  As a finishing touch, I added the flag-ended banners/tails (TAG ME Confetti Cuts).

Detail shot…

Congratulations1

As promised yesterday, I want to show you how the PERFECTLY PAISLEY Confetti Cuts set can be used all on its own.  I first created the blue/green card using all of the paisley sizes and layered them.  I liked how it looked so much that I created the pink/orange one, too!

I stacked up a couple of the paisley panels on white cardstock cuts for a little added dimension…

My second project today features the new FRESH ‘N FRUITY set paired with the new CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts set on a (previously released) SWEET TREAT TENT Confetti Cuts…

FreshNFruityTreatTent

To create this fun lil’ treat/giftie, I cut 2 of the SWEET TREAT TENT and adhered them together.  Next, I stamped the sentiment and added the oranges stamped from the FRESH ‘N FRUITY stamp set and cut with the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set (the leaves are also cut from this set).  To create the topper,  I cut out the 2 largest circles from the new CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set, folded them in half and added them to the top of the SWEET TREAT TENT.  Don’t you just love that debossed edge detail?  I then punched holes and added the ribbon.  The finishing touch was added the sequins topped with rhinestones for a bit of bling.

The inside contains a glassine bag filled with orange Jelly Bellies (yum!)…

I don’t want to keep you here too long, as there is so much more to see on this blog hop featuring our July release.

I have to admit that the above joke is nails on a chalkboard to me.  I remember someone telling it to me in first grade while we waited in line to get our school pictures taken and me rolling my eyes and thinking it was the worst joke ever.  I still think it’s a terrible joke.  So, what’s a girl to do when life hand you a joke like that?  Take that punch line and make cute stamps!

As crafters, we take pride in giving handmade items to those special people in our lives.  That was the thought behind the latest addition to our KEY WORDS COLLECTION

SO VERY SPECIAL

Here are just a few ways you can build the sentiments in this set…

In addition to SO VERY SPECIAL, I’d also like to introduce you to a new CONFETTI CUTS die set that is sure to stay on your crafting table for a long time…

TAG ME, TOO…

This is a big tag that is *so much fun* to use!

Here, I combined TAG ME, TOO with the SO VERY SPECIAL set to created a gift set of 4 tags…

Using all of the dies in this Confetti Cuts die set as well as dies from the PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts set, I created this tag…

TagMeToo1

My final card for today features the new SO VERY SPECIAL set along with the new CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set I introduced yesterday.  The scallop border is cut from the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts (previously released).

CirclesNScallopsConfettiCuts

These is *a lot* of love put into this next card and I am so happy that I get to give this card to a friend in about a month.

While over the years I have given baby cards to many friends, this one is (so very) extra special.  This card is for my friend, Anne (and her husband).

A few years ago Anne, whom I have known and loved since the 4th grade, was diagnosed with cancer.  I can still see exactly where I was and how I felt when she said the “c word.”  She endured rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and, eventually, a stem cell transplant (from an anonymous donor).  She beat the odds (thank you, God!) and in just a few weeks time, she will be welcoming home a sweet baby boy (via surrogate).  Needless to say, this is a super special delivery!

SpecialDelivery

The bib was created with the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts.

I cut out the smaller of the 2 scallop circles and then used the smallest circle to take out the top portion, creating the bib shape.  I added white linen thread for detail (and cuteness!).  The heart is from the (previously released) LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set.

So Very Special

So Very Special is part of our unique KEY WORDS COLLECTION, which provides you with a “key word” to mix and match to create a wide variety of sentiments. Also featured in this set are flourishes to dress up your cards and tags. You’ll find yourself reaching for this set time and time again for all those “special” moments.

Tag Me, Too

Love large tags with fabulous details? So do we! Tag Me, Too is a large tag that can used as a panel on a card or scrapbook page or as the perfect addition to any gift bag/box. This Confetti Cuts die set contains a large tag with scallop edge, scallop circle to reinforce the tag hole and add detail and the words “for” and “you” making this set very versatile and fun!

Set of 4 wafer thin dies

NOTE: This Confetti Cuts set does not contain wire connectors; however, many of our die sets are connected by thin wire and may need to be released from each other. To do so, tin snips are best, but these can often easily be taken apart by a gentle hand. Rough edges where the dies were attached may be sanded lightly (careful not to sand the cutting edge).
