Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

Are you local to North Texas?  If so, I hope you will join us this weekend!

. . . . .

Happy Thursday and welcome to the latest CONFETTI CAMERA!

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from throwback projects from each of our designers.  I have been stamping for a long time and I have seen things come and go and then come around.  A primary example of this is shaker cards.  We’re taking a look back to those “way back when” projects and breathing new life into them.

A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

Today, the spotlight is on the fun and wildly talented, LISA HENKE

. . . . .

Hello! I loved the theme of this round of Confetti Camera, “Everything Old is New Again” challenge. I went looking back through the Tutorials page on Splitcoast Stampers. OH, MY there is a wealth of info and tutorials over there. I stumbled upon a beaded pen tutorial and remember that being one of the first non-card project I ever did when I began paper crafting. Lucky me, I still had half a container of clear micro beads. I didn’t just want to do the pen and then I remembered these Corner Bookmarks we made at a class I taught years ago.

The book mark was quick and easy. If you are a member on SCS you can find the tutorial listed under Corner Book Mark. You need a 4 inch square piece of card stock, mark the center of three sides and score them to fold in two triangles. Cut a smaller square, 2 3/4 inches and cut in half to create your customized stamped piece.

I used the gorgeous new YOU ARE A STAR stamp set and matching Confetti Cuts to decorate my book mark. My son is working hard om his summer reading for school, so I thought this would put a smile on his face. I picked some bright, fun, but boyish colors. I added some white dots along the bottom strip with WHOLE LOTTA DOTS. The orange dots are from ROUNDABOUT.

Here is the backside and how it slips onto the book page.

The coordinating pen was simple, too. I used a 2×4 mailing label to stamp my design on.

I used the same You Are a Star stamps in the same colors, but this time added punches of orange with the COLOR ME HAPPY stamp set. I needed to fill in the white space a little more since I would be wrapping the label around the pen.

Next use a strong double sided tape (I like to use Red Line tape) to cover the stamped label. Peel off the stamped label with the red line still attached and wrap it around the pen. When you have the pen wrapped, remove the liner and roll into micro beads. Give them a good pressing, I like to use a bone folder for extra pressure and to make sure the beads adhere to the tap.

Here’s a closer look at the finished pen. A nice finishing touch was a small die cut star from You are a Star Confetti Cut tied on with some silver twine around the pen cap.

I hope you’ll feel inspired to try something old and make it new again. Thanks so much!

COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI: Shine From Within, Color Me Happy and More Confetti Cuts Dies

By Jen del Muro
on April 06, 2015

Greetings ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Monday!

It is, indeed, a very happy Monday here as we continue our COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI (a.k.a. sneak peeks) for our special April release.  In case you missed Day One, be sure to scroll down and check it out as we introduced A LOT of new goodies yesterday.  Today, we have even more to share with you, including 2 new stamp sets and more Confetti Cuts dies.  We’ll be showing off the new Quick Card Panels, as well.

Just a note…all of our releases will happen on the 8th of the month…just not every month.  We generally release new product every other month.  This is a special release, as April is usually a non-release month for us. We’ll still be hopping on the 8th, whether there is a release or not.  Just remember, “Eight is Great!”

. . . . .

Don’t forget to leave a comment here and on each sneak peek post this week for a chance to win!

In addition to having a chance to win just by leaving a comment on the sneak peek posts, we are also running a Facebook promotion.  After you are done checking out the sneak peeks, head on over to OUR FACEBOOK PAGE and look for this graphic pinned to the top of our feed…

On Facebook, simply leave a comment under the graphic.  One person that comments on the graphic by 1pm EST on April 7th will be randomly chosen to win a $15 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store.  Winners for both the blog comments and Facebook comments will be announced here on the Reverse Confetti blog as well as on Facebook.

. . . . .

Grab that cuppa joe, because here we go!

I love the look of paint on my paper crafting projects, but sometimes it’s just not all that practical or I just want something a little quicker (and easier).  Enter…

This set is filled with paint swashes and splatters, as well as a couple of sentiments.  The “hello” sentiment was also made into a Confetti Cuts die (same size)…

I created a set of 3 mini cards using the template you can find HERE using these 2 new products together…

I stamped the paint swash from COLOR ME HAPPY in aqua and then added the olive green splatters.  I then adhered the HELLO Confetti Cuts die cut, with centers attached in the letters.  As a finishing touch, I added 3 gold sequins.

This clean and simple trio is going to make a great gift set!

 . . . . .

While I don’t intend to put the above cards in the box featured in this next project, it would be perfect for sweet cards sets just like it!

I love packaging.  There I said it.

Actually, that is no secret, as I love creating Confetti Cuts dies to make cute packages and such. I also love collecting (ahem, hoarding) other types of packaging and I have been collecting (ahem, hoarding) this particular box just waiting for the perfect opportunity to dress it up.  I saw it as I was looking through my drawers prepping for this release and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!

I started with one of the Piña Colada QUICK CARD PANELS (love these panels!!) and then layered it with the largest rounded square from the new SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts set (this die set is never leaving my desk).  The sentiment is stamped in dark pink and then I stamped the swash over each word after I stamped off one time in the same color ink.

I added the heart (cut from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set) and a few gold sequins as embellishments.

My favorite embellishment on here is the tassel cut from the new TASSEL Confetti Cuts die.  I added some gold curling ribbon to tie in with the gold sequins.  Viola…super easy and cute gift packaging!

. . . . .

I’ve had so much fun inking up this next set!  It’s a sentiment set that I know I will find myself reaching for over and over because I love giving uplifting cards.  These sentiments are perfect for all those upcoming graduations, or just to let someone know that you care and are cheering for them.

SHINE FROM WITHIN goes great with the new GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die.  Before I had either one in my hands, I already had sketches done of how I wanted to use them together!

Here’s my first card pairing the two…

To make this card, I created an A2 card base.  I then cut 1 piece of patterned paper and one piece of black cardstock to A2 size, too.  I adhered the patterned paper to the card base and then cut the GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die from the piece of black cardstock.  I layered both the negative of the die cut, and the GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die cut on top of the patterned paper.

I then stamped the sentiment on coordinating patterned paper, matted it with black cardstock and adhered it to the card with dimensional adhesive.  Finally, I added some clear sequins (I keep reaching for sequins, don’t I!).

Detail shot…

. . . . .

My final project for today is a card that features the new SHINE FROM WITHIN stamp set.

As you can see, I didn’t go for the clean and simple look here.  I had a good time playing with lots of layers…

This sentiment is the perfect size to be paired with the large tag in the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set.

When I thought I was all done with the card, I kept looking at it and thinking, “This needs something.” You know that feeling, right?  It looks fine, but it’s just not all the way done.  That’s how it was for me and then I added the scalloped detail (cut from the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die) and the 3 black enamel pearls to the left of the tag.

. . . . .

That’s all I have for you today, ‘Fetti Fans, but the Confetti Crew has been very, and I mean VERY, busy creating lots of FABULOUS creations to share with you!

Be sure to leave a comment at each stop along the way for a chance to win!
