Hello, ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Friday!

Woot, woot!  It is Friday, which means the weekend is upon us and I am sleeping in tomorrow (yea, it’s been a long week)…until a kid or dog needs something right then and there.  I just hope it isn’t still dark when that happens!

Let’s take a peek at what the Confetti Crew was up to this week!

CONFETTI CAMERA

By Jen del Muro
on May 14, 2015

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

TGI…almost F!  The weekend is *this close*!

It’s Thursday and CONFETTI CAMERA time!  Woot Woot!

ConfettiCameraRCblog

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from throwback projects from each of our designers.  I have been stamping for a long time and I have seen things come and go and then come around.  A primary example of this is shaker cards.  We’re taking a look back to those “way back when” projects and breathing new life into them.

A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

Today, the spotlight is on the fabulously talented and sweet HEATHER PULVIRENTI

HeatherIntroPic

Hi ‘Fetti Fans! Heather P. here today with my take on the “Everything Old is New Again” theme.  When I first started becoming more active in the stamping community, matchbook candy holders were totally the IN thing. You could find countless samples popping up in the Splitcoast Stampers gallery and on various blogs.  I am always *way late* when it comes to trends, so it’s fitting that I would finally make one years later. Lol!

 051415

To create my candy holder, I used the Matchbook Candy Holder tutorial over on SCS.  I simply cut and scored the green CS and silver glitter CS using the tutorial specs as a guideline, and adhered where appropriate.  Now for the fun part… Decorating! The Pina Colada Quick Card Panels are some of my favorite, and I’ve been hoarding this offset black chevron card since first receiving it.  To embellish the front, I simply trimmed the card to fit and adhered it to the front flap.  I then die cut two Hello Confetti Cuts from silver and yellow CS, and adhered them together slightly offset before attaching them to the QCP and embellishing with teal enamel dots.

 051415c

To decorate the inside, I cut a strip of white CS and stamped it with a portion of the sentiment from Donut You Know in black ink.  I love that by simply leaving off the “happy birthday”, it becomes the perfect sentiment for this little treat! To finish up, I trimmed the ends of the white CS strip into flag shapes and adhered the sentiment to the silver glitter CS insert.  For a little added fun detail, I left the flag ends just long enough so they would peek out from behind the closed flap.

 051415b

Well, that wraps it up for me today, but be sure to come back tomorrow for more Reverse Confetti inspiration!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

Howdy ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Hump Day!

We have a very special WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS to share with you today.

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.  Today, Confetti Crew member Amy Sheffer has a super clever way to “sprinkle” some fun into your cards and projects!

. . . . .

AmySIntroPic

Hello ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy here today, with two fun ways to use your DONUT YOU KNOW Confetti Cuts sprinkles: in a shaker and to spell out letters!

I started by cutting three scalloped rectangles from LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts for the shaker: red card stock for the top layer, acetate for the window layer, and a piece of designer paper for the background layer. On the top layer, I cut out a rectangular opening using the rounded rectangle from CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts. I used foam adhesive to sandwich my shaker layers together and filled the shaker with lots and lots of DONUT YOU KNOW Confetti Cuts sprinkles in rainbow colors.

 RC_sprinkles_aks

For the sentiment (from DONUT YOU KNOW), I stamped in black ink on white card stock, then adhered more of those die-cut sprinkles on the sentiment panel, so it looks like the word “sprinkled” was spelled out of sprinkles. I won’t pretend this isn’t a tiny bit tedious, but I like doing stuff like this, and I think the end result is so worth it! What worked for me as adhesive was to squirt out a drop of matte multi-medium, then pick up each sprinkle using a pick-up tool, touch it lightly to the multi-medium, and then place it on the sentiment.

 RC_sprinkles_detail3_aks

I die-cut the sentiment panel first with the rounded rectangle from the CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts die set, so that it would fit within the shaker frame, then cut the bottom notch using TAG ME Confetti Cuts.

 RC_sprinkles_detail2_aks

I kept the background fairly simple to keep the focus on the sentiment shaker: two colors of twine, a white dry embossed background panel, plus some vellum and a tiny strip of designer paper. The embossed stars are coated with a clear Wink of Stella pen for some extra sparkle.

 RC_sprinkles_detail1_aks

Birthday or not, I hope your day is sprinkled with lots of fun!

FEBRUARY SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY

By admin
on February 01, 2015

Howdy ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Sunday!

Yes, I’m blogging on a Sunday.  That means that something fun and exciting is happening over here!  It’s time for a new SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY!

Here’s this month’s sketch…

SFYTT21_Feb15

. . . . .

Here are all the details you need to know…

Before I get to all the wonderful inspiration that the Confetti Crew came up with using this sketch, let’s go over the details…

There will be a new sketch posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 1st of each month.

The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 27th. The SFYTT button is  posted on the sidebar.  Click on it to be taken to the current SFYTT post and link list.

Reverse Confetti stamps and/or Confetti Cuts are required to win.  This is a way we get to thank our customers for using our stamps.  Anyone is welcome to play, though!

You may enter as many times as you wish.

There will be a winner each month and that person will receive a $20 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store and claim the title of ‘Fetti Fave. The winner of SFYTT will be posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 28th of this month.

. . . . .

Here’s my take on the sketch using DONUT YOU KNOW and DONUT YOU KNOW Confetti Cuts on the focal panel…

SFYTT1

In addition to the DONUT YOU KNOW stamps and Confetti Cuts dies, I also used the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die along the left side of the red chevron panel and the flag ended banner from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set on the two flag ended banners hanging from the top.

Detail shot of the card, along with the icing and sprinkles…

SFYTT12

To get the glazed looked on the icing, I used Ranger Enamel Accents and then added glass glitter and sprinkles (cut from the DONUT YOU KNOW Confetti Cuts dies).

SFYTT13

. . . . .

Of course, the Confetti Crew has some wonderful inspiration using this sketch, too!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on January 14, 2015

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!

Welcome to a very special edition of WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!  Confetti Crew member, Amy Sheffer has a few fabulous creations to share with you!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS?

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

. . . . .

Hello, Reverse Confetti friends, it’s Amy here today with some cute swivel-flap Valentine riddles. As soon as I saw the square tag, it reminded me of this little swivel cover on my bed post that covers up a bolt hole. To access the bolt, just rotate the cover. Inspired by that, I thought I’d try making some sort of project where the tag rotates and underneath is a surprise. First, I thought about having the tag cover a circle window to a treat box. But then lift-the-flap books came to mind, and I knew some punny Valentine riddles would be perfect! I looked up lots and lots of Valentine riddles, keeping Reverse Confetti products in mind, and came up with quite a few ideas using various images and sentiments, plus some computer-generated text. I’m showing four of those ideas today.

First, a look at all four Valentines closed, where you can see the riddles:

RC_WIW0114_valentinequartet

And here they are with the tag rotated out of the way to reveal the answers:

RC_WIW0114_valentinequartetopen

I started all four Valentines with the large rounded rectangle from DOCUMENTED Confetti Cuts. Each riddle and answer is printed and/or stamped on a SQUARE TAG and tied onto the rounded rectangle. I kept the same color scheme for all four, embellishing each with a white embossed row of dots from I LIKE YOU, a row of hearts from LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts, a strip with a stamped XOXOXO from CRUSHIN’, and a “Happy Valentine’s Day” sentiment from PUPPY LOVE. The riddles are all done with computer-generated text, then stamped with dotted lines from ROUNDABOUT.

Bat Valentine:

The bats are from SPOOKY CUTIES. Inside, I stamped Batty for You from SPOOKY SENTIMENTS, the word “I’M” from SUGARY SWEET SENTIMENTS, and another bat from SPOOKY CUTIES.

 RC_WIW0114_valentine1A

RC_WIW0114_valentine1B

Envelope Valentine:

The envelope and postal stripes are from NORTH POLE WISHES. Inside is computer generated text die-cut into a scalloped circle using a die from CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS, and a trio of hearts from LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts

 RC_WIW0114_valentine2A

RC_WIW0114_valentine2B

Whale Valentine:

The whale is from HAPPY HARBOR. Inside I stamped “i love you a” from BE A BARISTA onto pink card stock, heat embossed in white, and die-cut into a scalloped circle using CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts. The red heart is die-cut using HEART TO HEART Confetti Cuts, and the word “ton” is done by combining individual letters from SPOOKY SENTIMENTS.

 RC_WIW0114_valentine3A

RC_WIW0114_valentine3B

Pink Car Valentine:

The car is from HERE WE GO. Inside is computer generated text, another scalloped circle from CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS, a heart die-cut from PUPPY LOVE and a smaller heart die-cut from LOVE NOTE.

 RC_WIW0114_valentine4A

RC_WIW0114_valentine4B

It’s fun to look at stamps and sentiments you already have, mixing, matching, combining in new ways! Here are a few other ideas:

  • the fish from HAPPY HARBOR + o-fish-al sentiment from SUGARY SWEET SENTIMENTS.
  • the fish from HAPPY HARBOR + hugs and fishes (use stamps from I LIKE YOU, making the word “fishes” from individual letters)
  • the plane from HERE WE GO + “it’s plane to see” on the top tag, and “you’re the Valentine for me” underneath
  • one of the sweet poochies from PUPPY LOVE + the “I Woof You” sentiment, also in PUPPY LOVE
  • a Valentine-themed donut with heart sprinkles + “donut you know” on the outside, and “you’re the best” on the inside, all from DONUT YOU KNOW
  • the acorn from SAMMY SQUIRREL or FOREVER FALL + “What did the squirrel say to his true love on Valentines Day?” on the outside and “I’m nuts about you” underneath
  • the cat from SPOOKY CUTIES + “you’re purr-fect for me, Valentine”

I’d love to hear your ideas as well! Thanks for joining me today!

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on December 09, 2014

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s time for a special TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY!  You may recall, over the summer Confetti Crew member, Heather, made this card…

I just adore this clever card!  So much so that I asked if she would be willing to make a Christmas/wreath card using the same concept to showcase the versatility of this Confetti Cuts die set.  Well she did, and I am so excited that Heather is here sharing it with you today!

. . . . .

HeatherIntroPic

Hi, everyone! Heather P. here with a festive take on a card I created using  Fresh ‘n Fruity Confetti Cuts.  A few months ago, I created the card above using the lemon and orange dies to create a flower, and paired it with one of the lovely sentiments from Fabulous Flamingo.  I love using dies in unexpected ways, it’s a great way to stretch your stash!

 120914

To create my wreath, I used the following Confetti Cuts dies:

Fresh ‘n Fruity

Donut You Know

Circles ‘n Scallops

Branch Out

Tagged Tote

Here’s how:  I started with a piece of light green card stock, and layered together the circle die from the  Donut You Know Confetti Cuts with the largest circle die from the Circles ‘n Scallops Confetti Cuts.  Once run through my machine, this game me a thin, hollow circle to use a guide for my leaf placement.  I die cut 10 green lemons using the Fresh ‘n Fruity Confetti Cuts, and adhered 5 of them (evenly spaced) to the top of the hollow circle.

120914b

I then used my bone folder to score a line down the center of the remaining die cuts, and adhered them to the hollow circle (using pop dots) between the first set of die cuts.  So easy!

120914c

Next, I used the Triple Chevies Confetti Cuts to die cut some vellum, and adhered the strips to a medium gray card base.  I then stamped one of the sentiments from Seasonal Sentiments in Versamark ink onto a piece of aqua card stock before heat embossing with white powder.  I then adhered the sentiment to the card base with pop dots.

Once I figured out how much of the wreath I wanted to display on my card, I used my guillotine paper trimmer to cut off the excess.  I then adhered the wreath to the card front with pop dots.  To decorate the wreath, I used the bare tree from the Branch Out Confetti Cuts on silver glitter paper, and secured them to the petals leaves with Tombo multi-glue.  I die cut a pink bow from the Tagged Tote Confetti Cuts, adhered it to the wreath with pop dots, and covered it with Stickles.  To finish up, I embellished with white enamel dots.

CONFETTI CAMERA

By admin
on November 25, 2014

Hello and Happy Tuesday ‘Fetti Fans!

We’re gearing up for Turkey Day and Black Friday here in the Reverse Confetti office.  How about you?

. . . . .

Usually, you would find CONFETTI CAMERA on Thursday, but we’re moving it up this week for a special edition.

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from cards completed inside and out from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same “theme” until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

Today on Confetti Camera we have the very talented, KATHY MARTIN

. . . . .

Hi, Kathy here taking on Camera Confetti’s ‘Inside & Out’ challenge to create a card design that’s finished on the inside as well as the outside. For my card I couldn’t think of a better way to say thank you than with a couple of sprinkled donuts! I adore the DONUT YOU KNOW stamps and DONUT YOU KNOW Confetti Cuts…if I could I’d add donuts to every single project, but then how would I show off my other ‘fetti faves?

And, the inside…

141114-Sweet-Thanks-Inside

Speaking of my ‘fetti faves… the TAG ME, TOO Confetti Cuts set is one of them! I’d say I use this Confetti Cut on just about every other RC project! It’s perfect for framing focal points, like this strawberry frosted donut with chocolate sprinkles. Okay…who’s craving sweets now?
