CONFETTI CAMERA

By Jen del Muro

Hey, hey, ‘Fetti Fans!

Time for CONFETTI CAMERA…throwback style!

ConfettiCameraRCblog

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from throwback projects from each of our designers.  I have been stamping for a long time and I have seen things come and go and then come around.  A primary example of this is shaker cards.  We’re taking a look back to those “way back when” projects and breathing new life into them.

A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

Today on CONFETTI CAMERA, we have the sweet and oh so talented, AMY SHEFFER

AmySIntroPic

. . . . .

Hi ‘Fetti Fans! It’s Amy S. here today with my take on our “Everything Old Is New Again” theme. I went back to the beginning of my blog (2007-2008) to remind myself of some of the things that were trendy back then, and picked out the altered binder clip photo holder for today’s project. The binder clips are super simple to decorate, and make such cute little display stands!

 RC_confetticamerabinderclip_1-1

I started by covering a jumbo binder clip with patterned paper from the Simple Stories I Am collection. Next, I accented with a white card stock scalloped border cut with the Double Edge Scallop Border Confetti Cuts die, some turquoise twine, and a layered felt flower die-cut with the Petals ’N’ Posies Confetti Cuts dies. I tied some black and white baker’s twine around the “arms” of the binder clip, then accented with wood veneer hearts.

 RC_confetticamerabinderclip_1-2

RC_confetticamerabinderclip_1-3

Instead of displaying a photo, I created a motivational display piece. I stamped the quote, from Shine From Within, in pink ink onto a cobblestone pattern from the Simple Stories I Am collection, layered it onto some other complimentary patterns from the same collection, and accented with clear sequins, a vellum Double Banner Garland, a white linen thread bow and another wood veneer heart. The three layers of patterned paper are nice and snug in the binder clip, but since they’re not adhered, it’s super easy to swap this out for a photo (or a recipe card or a place card or whatever else you can dream up!).

 RC_confetticamerabinderclip_1-4

That’s it for me today! I hope you’re inspired to breathe new life into something “old” too!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By Jen del Muro
on March 18, 2015

Hey, hey ‘Fetti Fans!

Happy Wednesday!

It’s time for a special edition of WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS with Confetti Crew member, Amy Sheffer!

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.  Today, Amy is going to walk you through some Copic tips with a card that blends a new release with a previous release.

. . . . .

AmySIntroPic

Hello ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy here today, with a sweet combination of old and new products, as well as tips on how to ground your images with Copic markers.

 RCfeltbunnies1_aks

I started by die-cutting some bunnies from the MORE THAN JELLYBEANS Confetti Cuts die set in two different felt colors and arranging one on top of the other so that they’d look like they’re standing side by side. They looked so sweet together that I immediately thought of the sentiments in GO TOGETHER.

 RCfeltbunnies2_aks

Because I wanted to maintain a light, airy feel to the card, I placed the bunny pair on a white, almost card-size panel. So that they wouldn’t just float there on the white panel, I grounded them using Copic markers. Underneath, I created a shadow using the warm gray series. Around the bunnies, I added dots in different shades of gray, pink, and aqua.

Here are a few tips for adding this dotted halo effect:

— mix up the size of the dots. With the brush tip, lightly dot the paper to make tiny dots, and press and hold a little for the larger dots.

— You also want a faded out effect, so be sure to have lots of closer together dots in darker colors right next to the image. Be more and more sparing and use lighter colors the further out you go.

That’s it — super easy and fun to do! I used a fairly light hand here. You can work with darker colors and a more concentrated dot pattern for a more dramatic effect.

 RCfeltbunnies3_aks

I kept my embellishments simple and subdued — a few wood veneer hearts, some linen thread, and a fabulous DOUBLE BANNER GARLAND Confetti Cuts die cut from vellum and white card stock.

The design team often praises Jen for how easy it is to combine various Reverse Confetti sets, old and new. I hope today’s project inspires you to stretch your stash by mixing and matching in creative ways! Thanks so much for joining me!

CONFETTI CAMERA

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Thursday!

It’s time for CONFETTI CAMERA!

ConfettiCameraRCblog

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from cards completed inside and out from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same “theme” until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

Today on Confetti Camera is the so very talented and sweet, SARAH GOUGH

SarahIntroPic

Hi, Sarah here. I love to finish the inside of my cards, so this round of Confetti Camera was a blast! For my card today I’ve used the SPRING FLING QUICK CARD PANELS for a bright and fast Easter card.

 concameraSarahGough (1)

To create the scene on the front of my card, I cut clouds with the SUN ‘N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts, embossing them with a dotted folder. The bunny was layered in between two DOUBLE EDGE WONKY SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die to stand in for grass. The Quick Card Panel already featured a gorgeous sun, so I added a DOUBLE BANNER GARLAND Confetti Cuts die.

 concameraSarahGough (2)

concameraSarahGough (4)

Inside the card I thought one of the lined SPRING FLING QUICK CARD PANELS would make a perfect layer for a handwritten message. I used this one upside down, I thought the banners looked great behind the egg sentiment from MORE THAN JELLYBEANS! Of course I had to use the other DOUBLE BANNER GARLAND Confetti Cuts die because it’s just too cute to waste!

I have a few project to share with you today and then I’m sending you off on your way to see what the Confetti Crew and our ‘Fetti Friends have in store for you.

My first project today is one of my favorites from this release…

MasonJarLid

I started with a mason jar lid and then filled it with green crinkle paper (actually, it was white and a sprayed it green).  I then added the “Hello Spring” egg and a bunny cut from felt from MORE THAN JELLYBEANS and the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set.  The small egg was created from the CARTON CUTIES Confetti Cuts die set and adorned with a flower from the new THE TWEET LIFE Confetti Cuts die set.

The DOUBLE BANNER GARLAND is “strung” between a kabob stick that I cut in half and hot glued to the mason jar lid.

MasonJarLid1

This project came together rather quickly and easily (minus the spraying of the white crinkle paper *wink).  I think these would be darling as part of a place setting for a Spring or Easter brunch!

. . . . .

My next project today features the new SHINE BRIGHT set, SUN ‘N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts die set and SPRING FLING Quick Card Panels.

YouAreMySunshine

On this card I layered the sun from the SUN ‘N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts die set on top of the sun on the new SPRING FLING Quick Card Panels.  The words on the sentiment are colored in a gradient with Copic markers.  I can’t wait to slip this card in my daughter’s backpack for her to find.

. . . . .

My final card today features THE BUZZ stamps and coordinating Confetti Cuts dies, along with the new DOUBLE EDGE WONKY SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts.

BeeDay1

The main image panel is the rounded rectangle from the DOCUMENTED Confetti Cuts die set.

The bee is colored with Copics and then adhered with dimensional adhesive to the end of the dashed “trail.”

Detail shot of the bee (wings are double cut and layered for added dimension)…

Alright, it’s time to grab that cuppa, sit back and enjoy all the Confetti creativity we have for you today!

. . . . .

First, I’d like to introduce you to the new *limited edition*

SPRING FLING QUICK CARD PANELS!

SpringFlingQCPProductGraphic

QUICK CARD PANELS are limited edition premium heavyweight cardstock panels measuring 3.25″ x 4.5″.  Each package contains 2 of each 8 printed design.  They are designed for A2 card making, but you can easily use them on all of your paper crafting projects!  We will have a new set of QUICK CARD PANELS with each release. Grab them while you can, because once they’re gone, they’re gone!

You’ll see the new limited edition QUICK CARD PANELS used on a variety of projects from the Confetti Crew.  We can’t wait to see how you will use them on your creations!

. . . . .

The first stamp set that we are revealing today is from the same line as our HEART TO HEART set from our January release and I think you’re gonna love it just as much!

Introducing…

MORE THAN JELLYBEANS

MoreThanJellybeansProductGraphic

And, the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set…

MoreThanJellyBeansCC_ProductGraphic

My first project today pairs the new SPRING FLING QUICK CARD PANELS along with these stamps and dies…

HappySpringCard

For this card, I used the sunshine and grass scene and simply added the stamped and die cut egg and some green twine.  The heart was added at the last minute for a little more dimension (cut from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set).

Detail shot…

HappySpringCard1

Notice anything else that might be part of the new release on this card?

Introducing…

The DOUBLE EDGE WONKY SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die (say that 3 times fast! *wink*)…

DoubleEdgeWonkyScallopBorderCCProductGraphic

This die is really TWO DIES IN ONE!  It features the large wonky scallops on one side and a smaller scale on the other side.  Like its cousin, the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die, simply cut off the side that you are not using or tuck in under the panel that  you are layering.  You can also fold it over for added detail!

. . . . .

My next card today features even more fun new products being released on MARCH 8th!

HappyBunnyDayCard1

Here, I used the “Happy Bunny Day” image from MORE THAN JELLYBEANS and cut him (her?) out with the coordinating bunny Confetti Cuts die.  I then adhered the bunny to the pattern paper circle cut from the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set (previously released) and layered with grass I created by snipping blades on the DOUBLE EDGE WONKY SCALLLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die.

This card also features a new product we are revealing today…

The DOUBLE BANNER GARLAND Confetti Cuts die set!

DoubleBannerGarland

I’m pretty sure that this Confetti Cuts die set is never going to leave my desk! It’s so much fun to play with!  In this set there are 2 banner garland dies.  One is “open,” in center and the other solid.  It’s perfect for layering, like I did on this card or each can be used on their own.

Also on this card are the clouds from the new…

SUN ‘N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts die set!

SunNCloudsCCProductGraphic

Detail shot…

HappyBunnyDayCard

. . . . .

Yep, there’s more! YAY!

The puppies from the PUPPY LOVE stamp set needed some friends…or something to bark and chase after.  Either way, we think this set is the perfect addition to this line!

Introducing…

THE TWEET LIFE

TheTweetLifeProductGraphic

And, the coordinating THE TWEET LIFE Confetti Cuts die set…

TheTweetLifeCC_ProductGraphic

. . . . .

This next card features one of THE TWEET LIFE birdies colored with the “no line stamping” technique where you stamp the image in a light color and then color it in with markers or watercolors, like I did here…

TweetCard

I also stamped the tummy with lined image from the set and then ran my watercolor brush over it to soften the lines.  To create a little more of a scene for the image, I watercolored grass under the birdie and added the clouds from the new SUN ‘N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts die set.

Detail shots…

TweetDetail1

TweetDetail

. . . . .

Next up is a cute lil’ treat container I created with our TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts die set (previously released) and the new THE TWEET LIFE stamps and Confetti Cuts…

TweetTote1

This birdie was stamped and then I paper pieced her body, adding an extra layer for wings and added the stamped polka dot tummy.

TweetTote

The small flower was cut from several layers of a coffee filter and topped with the rhinestone.

TweetTote2What’s inside the tote?

Two M&M snack size packs.  It was designed to fit those, as well as lots of other snack size/small goodies!

. . . . .

One last project for today and then I am sending you on your way to see all of the creations that the Confetti Crew put together using these fabulous new release products!

Maybe it’s just me, but when I have a project in my head it rarely comes out with how I originally envisioned.  Sometimes it develops into something much greater, sometimes my trash can gets full of failed attempts.

Well, this one turned out just like it was in my head.  *fist pump*

Birdcage2

Yep, I made my own mini birdcage!

The base of the cage is a lid to a mason jar and then I added the cage, which is thin strips of kraft cardstock stacked on top of each other and bradded together on one end.  I spread out the strips and adhered them to the jar lid.  From there I embellished the bottom with doilies, patterned paper and Easter “grass” and embellished the top with a painted white wood ball (to cover the brad), ribbon, button with twine and a sentiment from THE TWEET LIFE stamp set.

The Copic colored birdie is sitting on a wood skewer that I cut down and attached to the birdcage by punching hole in two of the cage strips.
