CRAZY FOR CHRISTMAS: MEMORY KEEPING

By Jen del Muro
on November 12, 2015

Hello ‘Fetti Fans and welcome to the third and final day of CRAZY FOR CHRISTMAS!

CrazyForChristmas_3MemoryKeeping

Today is all about MEMORY KEEPING.  It’s not just scrapbook pages, but rather much more than that to get you inspired to create with your holiday photos.  You’ll find a full list of the Confetti Crew members posting today toward the end of this post.

. . . . .

As you know, I am a self-described “un-scrapbooker.”  This comes doing one scrapbook, my wedding album, and thinking that I needed much more instant gratification.  In short, that is how I got into card making.  However, I still love to play around with photos of my family and friends and create with them.  So, what’s an “un-scrapbooker” to do when they want to create with photos?

This…

DSC06311

If the first thing that you are noticing is that there are no pictures, you’re right (LOL!).  I’ll be adding pictures from this year to this creation.

Basically, it’s a scrapbook layout with out the actual scrapBOOK.  Instead, I have added it to a frame that I picked up at my local Michaels.  I usually buy a few of these at a time so that I can have them on hand for my “un-scrapbooking.”

The two kraft panels are cut from the WOODGRAIN Confetti Cuts die.  While I will be adding pictures over these, I will leave the edges showing so that it appears as a wood frame…

DSC06316

The word “merry” is cut from the WINTER WORDS Confetti Cuts die set and mounted on a piece of white cardstock.  The scalloped polka dot edge is cut from our DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die.  I did not completely adhere the border, as I curled the edges up for a little bit of detail and dimension.

DSC06312

Above the (to be) pictures is a wreath cut twice from the large wreath in the WREATHS Confetti Cuts die set and is adorned with a heart from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set.  To top it all off, I embellished with a button tied off with CAPPUCCINO TWINE and jingle bells.  The wreath is only adhered to the project at the top so that I may easily add pictures…

DSC06313

. . . . .

Of course, there is a lot more to see today!

I have a few projects to share with you today using these new products.

This first one uses the new GIFT CARD HOLDER TAG Confetti Cuts die set…

Also on this money holder tag is the WREATHS Confetti Cuts, HOLLY Confetti Cuts, WINTER WORDS Confetti Cuts and WINTER WORDS COORDINATES that we released last month and the GIVE THANKS LABEL Confetti Cuts.

The holly leaves are cut from vellum and the word “merry” and holly berries are cut from glitter cardstock…

. . . . .

Here’s another project using the GIFT CARD HOLDER TAG Confetti Cuts die set.  This time I did not use the gift card “hole” for it, but rather kept it as a simple tag…

DSC06145

Also used on this tag is the new HANG UPS Confetti Cuts (re-inforcer),  WITH LOVE stamp set and the (previously released) WHOLE LOTTA DOTS stamp set, along with the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set, DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die set and HOLLY Confetti Cuts die set.

. . . . .

These next tags use the TOPPED OFF TAG along with the new HANG UPS Confetti Cuts die set and the new Holly Jolly QUICK CARD PANELS

DSC06196

Going from left to right, I added just a little more detail to each.  The tag on the left is simply cut from the TOPPED OFF TAG Confetti Cuts die and then I added the HANG UPS Confetti Cuts die cuts to the top.

The middle one is also cut from the TOPPED OFF TAG and has the HANG UPS detail on it, but I also added the small wreath from the WREATHS Confetti Cuts die set and embellished it with sequins and rhinestones.  Here’s a detail shot of this tag…

DSC06162

The one on the right is the most embellished.  As with the others, it is cut from the TOPPED OFF TAG Confetti Cuts die. I added the “topper” to it, along with a re-inforcer.  Under the topper is a scalloped edge cut from the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die.  The bottom has both an embellishment from the HOLLY Confetti Cuts die set along with a sentiment panel stamped with the new WITH LOVE stamp set.

. . . . .

Just one more project to share before I send you on  your way…

DSC06192

This tag features the TOPPED OFF TAG Confetti Cuts, BUBBLY TAG TOPPER Confetti Cuts, HANG UPS Confetti Cuts and the new WITH LOVE STAMP SET…I just love how these all play so well together!  I tied off the top with some the STRAWBERRY TWINE we now have in store.

HAPPY FALL-IDAYS: HALLOWEEN

By Jen del Muro
on October 13, 2015

Hello ‘Fetti Fans and welcome to the first annual HAPPY FALL-IDAYS!

What exactly is HAPPY FALL-IDAYS?

It’s an online showcase event where the Confetti Crew will be sharing multiple holiday projects (these go way beyond cards!) and providing a serious dose of Reverse Confetti and holiday inspiration!  The fall and winter holidays are upon us now, so we are making this a 3 day celebration of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!

As the graphic below would suggest, we are kicking off HAPPY FALL-IDAYS with HALLOWEEN today.  Just below the graphic is a list of all of the Confetti Crew members that are sharing their projects today.  Be sure to scroll past, as I have a little something to share with you, as well!

I love paper crafting.  I love memory keeping projects. I don’t love scrapbooking.

So, what’s a girl to do?

Create paper crafting projects that contain pictures, making them memory keeping projects.

Are you wondering what I am talking about?  (Don’t worry, sometimes nobody knows).

Here’s what I mean…

DSC05934

I created this triptych (geesh, it’s been a LONG time since I made one of these!) and embellished and added pictures of my lil’ ones from last year’s Halloween.  Nic was a vampire (hence the un-living look) and Ellie was a pirate.

The entire project measures 9″ x 5.5″, with folds on 3″ and 6″.

DSC05932

For both Nic & Ellie’s panels, I started with a black and white piece of patterned paper and added a green border with the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die.  From there, I layered a gray large wreath cut from the *new* WREATHS Confetti Cuts die set, and a tag (THANKS TAG Confetti Cuts) topped with a picture of each kid.  For embellishments, I added the bows atop the tag, the flag ended sentiments (both from TOO CUTE TO SPOOK) and 3 white enamel flat backs…

DSC05921

DSC05923

The center panel is 3 pumpkins cut from the PUMPKIN PATCH Confetti Cuts die set that are each covered in orange glitter.  Each of the pumpkins is popped up on a glue dot for some added dimension.

In short, this is what I call memory keeping…a fun project that I can display year after year that contains picture of a fun family time.

I’ll be on Periscope later today  (I’ll post time on IG)  going over this project, along with some of my other favorite un-scrapbooking projects, too.  See you then!

AUGUST CREATIVE HOP

By Jen del Muro
on August 08, 2015

Hello ‘Fetti Fans and welcome to the AUGUST CREATIVE HOP!  If where you are is anything like here in North Texas, the mercury is on the rise.  Good thing we have lots (&  lots) of COOL inspiration to share with you today!

SummerFunHop

Of course, we have a little something up for grabs, too!  Just leave a comment on each of the blog hop posts and we’ll select a winner for a $15 Reverse Confetti gift certificate.  Comments are open through Monday at noon CST and we’ll announce the winner on Tuesday, August 11th.

There is a full list of hoppers towards the end of this post in case of any breaks, etc.

. . . . .

I have a couple of projects to share with you today.  This first one is a card that uses the very trendy PINEAPPLES APLENTY Confetti Cuts die along with the HELLO Confetti Cuts die…

PineappleHello

I created this 3d pineapple by cutting 4 of the pineapples from yellow patterned paper and 4 pineapple crowns from thin green cardstock.  I folded all the pineapples in half and adhered them to each other.  I then folded the crowns in half and adhered them to the pineapples.

Are you thinking, “How could this fit in an envelope?”  Easy, actually…the pineapple can be pressed flat to fit into an envelope!

Detail shot…

PineappleHello1

The “hello” sentiment is cut from the HELLO Confetti Cuts die in navy and white.  I slightly offset the white under the navy for a little depth and detail…

PineappleHello2

. . . . .

A couple of weeks ago, my kiddos went to grandma’s house in California.   While they were there I got a lot done around the new (to us) house and office. They got to have a little break from Mom & Dad and get spoiled by all the relatives there.  They enjoyed a few days spent at the beach (maybe I should have gone, too!). When I got a few of the pics from the beach days, I knew that I wanted to do something crafty with them (…or the only one that actually printed well).

I didn’t actually know how this project would end when I started.  First, I thought I’d do a frame with a couple of pocket cards.  Then, I thought that I would do a mini book. That idea went down the drain when I picked up the photos and realized that there was only one worth doing anything with.  Alas, I came across an old photo display (think Christmas from 5+ years ago in the dollar section at Michaels).  It’s a 2x2x2 wood block with a wire swirly doo-dad and it was perfect for this…

PhotoProject

Here’s a closer look at each of the pieces…

The base is covered in squares of patterned paper cut just under 2×2″.  I cut 2 strips of the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die and wrapped it around the bottom and embellished it with sequins and rhinestones.  I kept it simple, as I did not want it to distract from the photo display.

PhotoProject1

The journaled panel is cut from the DOCUMENTED Confetti Cuts die set and stamped with the RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW stamp set.  I love that I can stamp these in different colors to coordinate with my palette/theme…

PhotoProject4

The base of this panel is cut from the WOODGRAIN Confetti Cuts die.  The FABULOUS FLAMINGO (cut with the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set) takes center stage on top of the GIVE THANKS LABEL panel.  I cut 2 suns from the SUN ‘N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts die set and topped it off with the button and linen thread…

PhotoProject3

One more shot of the entire cluster…

PhotoProject2

This was a super fun project to create!  I think I’ve said before that I don’t really scrapbook.  However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t love to preserve (and embellish) the pics of fun times.   I guess, for me, it’s best to think “outside the (scrap)book.”  How do you like to preserve your memories?

. . . . .

As you know this is just your very first stop in this fabulous hop!  The Confetti Crew and ‘Fetti Friends have a lot of summer inspired projects to share with you today.  So, kick back, grab that cuppa and happy hopping!

CONFETTI CAMERA

By Jen del Muro
on May 21, 2015

Hey, hey, ‘Fetti Fans!

Time for CONFETTI CAMERA…throwback style!

ConfettiCameraRCblog

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from throwback projects from each of our designers.  I have been stamping for a long time and I have seen things come and go and then come around.  A primary example of this is shaker cards.  We’re taking a look back to those “way back when” projects and breathing new life into them.

A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

Today on CONFETTI CAMERA, we have the sweet and oh so talented, AMY SHEFFER

AmySIntroPic

. . . . .

Hi ‘Fetti Fans! It’s Amy S. here today with my take on our “Everything Old Is New Again” theme. I went back to the beginning of my blog (2007-2008) to remind myself of some of the things that were trendy back then, and picked out the altered binder clip photo holder for today’s project. The binder clips are super simple to decorate, and make such cute little display stands!

 RC_confetticamerabinderclip_1-1

I started by covering a jumbo binder clip with patterned paper from the Simple Stories I Am collection. Next, I accented with a white card stock scalloped border cut with the Double Edge Scallop Border Confetti Cuts die, some turquoise twine, and a layered felt flower die-cut with the Petals ’N’ Posies Confetti Cuts dies. I tied some black and white baker’s twine around the “arms” of the binder clip, then accented with wood veneer hearts.

 RC_confetticamerabinderclip_1-2

RC_confetticamerabinderclip_1-3

Instead of displaying a photo, I created a motivational display piece. I stamped the quote, from Shine From Within, in pink ink onto a cobblestone pattern from the Simple Stories I Am collection, layered it onto some other complimentary patterns from the same collection, and accented with clear sequins, a vellum Double Banner Garland, a white linen thread bow and another wood veneer heart. The three layers of patterned paper are nice and snug in the binder clip, but since they’re not adhered, it’s super easy to swap this out for a photo (or a recipe card or a place card or whatever else you can dream up!).

 RC_confetticamerabinderclip_1-4

That’s it for me today! I hope you’re inspired to breathe new life into something “old” too!

I just love our birthday release!  It’s been a blast to play with and I know that I will find myself reaching for these products over and over again.

My first project that I have to share with you uses the CIRCLE SENTIMENTS, the coordinating SCALLOPED CIRCLE and STAR GARLAND Confetti Cuts dies…

BabyCard

I added the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER across the card to tie in the green of the stamped sentiment.

The STAR GARLAND Confetti Cuts was used as a white on white detail on the circle (cut from the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set).  It’s such a subtle detail, but I love what it brings to this card.

. . . . .

My second card today also features the new CIRCLE SENTIMENTS stamp set along with the new limited edition LET’S CELEBRATE Quick Card Panels and STITCHED FLAG TRIO Confetti Cuts dies…

ThanksCircle

This card literally came together in about 5 minutes…gotta love quick and easy, yet still eye catching!

Can I just say that I absolutely LOVE the new PARTY HATS stamps and coordinating Confetti Cuts die set!?

Here, I paired them with the new STITCHED FLAG TRIO Confetti Cuts die set, FANCY WORD COORDINATES stamps, GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND, LOVE NOTE (heart) and DOCUMENTED (rounded rectangle) Confetti Cuts dies.

PartyHatsCard

I can’t stop creating fringe detail, either!  If you missed the how-to on this, you can see it HERE on day one of the COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI.

I have one more project to share with you and this one may just be my favorite from this release.  It’s actually the first project that I made for the sneak peeks/hop and I’m pretty pleased this was how I got my creative juices flowing.

*LOVE* this quote from the new GOD IS GOOD stamp set…

Shine

In addition to the new GOD IS GOOD stamp set, I also used the new STITCHED FLAG TRIO, PETALS ‘N POSIES and PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts and the DOUBLE EDGE WONKY SCALLOP Confetti Cuts dies.

This was originally created to go into a frame, but then I couldn’t find the frame that I was searching for so I went with sticking it on a card front and calling it done.

COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI: Shine From Within, Color Me Happy and More Confetti Cuts Dies

By Jen del Muro
on April 06, 2015

Greetings ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Monday!

It is, indeed, a very happy Monday here as we continue our COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI (a.k.a. sneak peeks) for our special April release.  In case you missed Day One, be sure to scroll down and check it out as we introduced A LOT of new goodies yesterday.  Today, we have even more to share with you, including 2 new stamp sets and more Confetti Cuts dies.  We’ll be showing off the new Quick Card Panels, as well.

ConfettiCountdown

Just a note…all of our releases will happen on the 8th of the month…just not every month.  We generally release new product every other month.  This is a special release, as April is usually a non-release month for us. We’ll still be hopping on the 8th, whether there is a release or not.  Just remember, “Eight is Great!”

. . . . .

Don’t forget to leave a comment here and on each sneak peek post this week for a chance to win!

In addition to having a chance to win just by leaving a comment on the sneak peek posts, we are also running a Facebook promotion.  After you are done checking out the sneak peeks, head on over to OUR FACEBOOK PAGE and look for this graphic pinned to the top of our feed…

NextRelease

On Facebook, simply leave a comment under the graphic.  One person that comments on the graphic by 1pm EST on April 7th will be randomly chosen to win a $15 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store.  Winners for both the blog comments and Facebook comments will be announced here on the Reverse Confetti blog as well as on Facebook.

. . . . .

Grab that cuppa joe, because here we go!

I love the look of paint on my paper crafting projects, but sometimes it’s just not all that practical or I just want something a little quicker (and easier).  Enter…

COLOR ME HAPPY

ColorMeHappyProductGraphic

This set is filled with paint swashes and splatters, as well as a couple of sentiments.  The “hello” sentiment was also made into a Confetti Cuts die (same size)…

Hello

HelloCCProductGraphic

I created a set of 3 mini cards using the template you can find HERE using these 2 new products together…

HelloPaintTrio

I stamped the paint swash from COLOR ME HAPPY in aqua and then added the olive green splatters.  I then adhered the HELLO Confetti Cuts die cut, with centers attached in the letters.  As a finishing touch, I added 3 gold sequins.

This clean and simple trio is going to make a great gift set!

HelloPaint1

 . . . . .

While I don’t intend to put the above cards in the box featured in this next project, it would be perfect for sweet cards sets just like it!

I love packaging.  There I said it.

Actually, that is no secret, as I love creating Confetti Cuts dies to make cute packages and such. I also love collecting (ahem, hoarding) other types of packaging and I have been collecting (ahem, hoarding) this particular box just waiting for the perfect opportunity to dress it up.  I saw it as I was looking through my drawers prepping for this release and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!

HappyThoughtsBox

I started with one of the Piña Colada QUICK CARD PANELS (love these panels!!) and then layered it with the largest rounded square from the new SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts set (this die set is never leaving my desk).  The sentiment is stamped in dark pink and then I stamped the swash over each word after I stamped off one time in the same color ink.

HappyTHoughtsbox2

I added the heart (cut from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set) and a few gold sequins as embellishments.

My favorite embellishment on here is the tassel cut from the new TASSEL Confetti Cuts die.  I added some gold curling ribbon to tie in with the gold sequins.  Viola…super easy and cute gift packaging!

I’ve had so much fun inking up this next set!  It’s a sentiment set that I know I will find myself reaching for over and over because I love giving uplifting cards.  These sentiments are perfect for all those upcoming graduations, or just to let someone know that you care and are cheering for them.

Introducing…

SHINE FROM WITHIN

ShineFromWithinProductGraphic

SHINE FROM WITHIN goes great with the new GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die.  Before I had either one in my hands, I already had sketches done of how I wanted to use them together!

Here’s my first card pairing the two…

FromWithin

To make this card, I created an A2 card base.  I then cut 1 piece of patterned paper and one piece of black cardstock to A2 size, too.  I adhered the patterned paper to the card base and then cut the GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die from the piece of black cardstock.  I layered both the negative of the die cut, and the GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die cut on top of the patterned paper.

I then stamped the sentiment on coordinating patterned paper, matted it with black cardstock and adhered it to the card with dimensional adhesive.  Finally, I added some clear sequins (I keep reaching for sequins, don’t I!).

My final project for today is a card that features the new SHINE FROM WITHIN stamp set.

As you can see, I didn’t go for the clean and simple look here.  I had a good time playing with lots of layers…

DreamBig1

This sentiment is the perfect size to be paired with the large tag in the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set.

DreamBig2

When I thought I was all done with the card, I kept looking at it and thinking, “This needs something.” You know that feeling, right?  It looks fine, but it’s just not all the way done.  That’s how it was for me and then I added the scalloped detail (cut from the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die) and the 3 black enamel pearls to the left of the tag.

That’s all I have for you today, ‘Fetti Fans, but the Confetti Crew has been very, and I mean VERY, busy creating lots of FABULOUS creations to share with you!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By Jen del Muro
on March 25, 2015

Hello, ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Wednesday!

We have a very special WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS for you today!

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between. Today, Confetti Crew member Sarah Gough, has an awesome video to share about how she uses some of her favorite Confetti Cuts dies.

I just love the new DOUBLE EDGE WONKY SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts – it’s such a fun border, and two sizes for the price of one die?…genius! Anything that saves money AND storage space is a winner in my book!

Not only can you cut this border in half to use either the large or small scallops, but in this video I show you how I like to utilize both sides of the Double Edge Wonky Scallop Border at once to create a unique layered border piece!

More detail pics of the sweet bee from THE BUZZ stamp set and coordinating Confetti Cuts…
