JUNE CREATIVE BLOG HOP

By admin
on June 08, 2014

Hello and Happy Sunday!

It’s time for the June Creative Blog Hop and you are going to LOVE what the Confetti Crew has come up with for this hop!

So, grab that cuppa joe, sit back and click on through this amazing hop featuring cards and much much more!  Be sure to leave a comment at each stop along the way for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store.  Comments are open until this Tuesday at noon and the winner will be announced on the Wednesday in the Works.  Happy hopping and good luck!

In case of a break in the hop or if you miss a hopper, there is a full list of participants at the end of this post.

. . . . .

One of the things I do when designing new products is keep the previously released products in mind. By doing so, I make sure that products are compatible with each other and it’s easy to mix ‘n match them.  I love to mix and match stamps and dies and that is just what I did on this fun and patriotic banner project…

Banner1

Banner2

Banner3

So, how many Reverse Confetti products can you name on this project?  Two? Three??  How about SEVEN! It is so fun to be able to use products over and over and mix ‘n match to create new and unique projects!

LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts (Burlap Base and Large Heart)

TAG ME Confetti Cuts (Large Tag Cut From White Cardstock and Navy Cardstock)

OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts (Strip of Stars on Each Banner, Single Stars)

DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts (Used to Create Scallop Border on Navy Cardstock)

SO STRIPEY Stamp Set (Stripes on Navy Cardstock)

WHOLE LOTTA DOTS Stamp Set (Stamped on Red Cardstock)

LIGHTHEARTED LETTERS Stamp Set (Each Stamped Letter)

. . . . .

There is a whole lot of inspiration and great project ideas along this hop, so I won’t keep you here any longer.  Don’t forget to leave a comment on each stop along the way for a chance to win!

Hey, hey, ‘Fetti Fans…TGIF and happy first day of summer vacation!

Have you played along with this month’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY?  Come play along for a chance to win!  All details can be found HERE and once more, here’s the sketch…

SFYTT13_Jun14

It’s Friday and time to take a peek back at what the Confetti Crew was up to this week for our WEEK IN REVERSE.

. . . . .

Amber made my jaw drop with these mixed media pages using PETALS ‘N POSIES stamps and PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts, as well as the COUNT YOUR RAINBOWS stamp set…

This is such a beautiful baby card from Sarah using LOTS TO SAY and PETALS ‘N POSIES stamps and PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts, as well as our DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die…

She also completed the inside using BEAUTIFUL BANNERS stamps and BEAUTIFUL BANNERS Confetti Cuts…

Laurie created this darling card using the HERE WE GO stamp set and coordinating HERE WE GO Confetti Cuts, as well as the BEAUTIFUL BANNERS stamp set and BEAUTIFUL BANNERS Confetti Cuts…

Let's Celebrate by Laurie Schmidlin

Leigh’s thank you card gift set is so sweet…

The packaging for this gift set was created with the SWEET TREAT TENT Confetti Cuts die and embellished with TAG ME Confetti Cuts dies stamped with a sentiment from the SWEET THING stamp set from our KEY WORDS COLLECTION.

Each of the cards in this set is so sweet!  You can see the full collection on her blog HERE.  This is just one of the several using LOTS TO SAY and WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS

I’m lovin’ Lisa’s super cute and clever shaker card featuring the WINNING stamp set along with the TAG ME and OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts…

This card from Amy rocked this month’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY with this fun and fabulous card using BEAUTIFUL BANNERS stamps and BEAUTIFUL BANNERS Confetti Cuts as well as the large heart from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts set stamped with the small dots from WHOLE LOTTA DOTS

6.4.14

Kathy’s post for this card is titled “Feels Like Summer” and this bright and colorful card using LET’S CHILL stamps and LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts just epitomizes that…

It’s amazing how two people can get such different (and totally wonderful!) projects from the same set!  Here’s Heather’s card that also uses the LET’S CHILL stamps and LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts along with the DOIN’ THE WAVE Confetti Cuts…

Last, but not least, is this beauty from Amy using this month’s sketch along with BE A BARISTA

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on June 04, 2014

Hello and Happy Wednesday, ‘Fetti Fans!

Anyone else counting down the last days of school…followed by “I think I can, I think I can”?  Tell me I’m not the only one! While I absolutely love this time of year it’s definitely the home stretch of a marathon!  I love summer and am looking forward to playing in the pool, doing fun science experiments (a la Pinterest) and getting crafty!  I’ll be documenting it all here, so be sure to stay tuned!

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

Today’s topic is none other than our fabulous and fun June SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY.  If you missed the post from last week introducing the post, here is the sketch once more…

SFYTT13_Jun14

You’ll find all the details about the sketch and how to enter your creation HERE, or just click on the SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY button on our sidebar.

I’ve been having a lot of fun using the LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts and LET’S CHILL stamp set…

MeltMyHeart

For the long rectangular panel behind the circle, I used 2 TAG ME Confetti Cuts die cuts.  I added the large side scallops from the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER for detail under the sentiment panel.

Detail shot (anyone else craving lime popsicles?)…

MeltMyHeart_detail

To create the dimension on the popsicles, I cut out 4 popsicles (2 from each pattern paper) and then cut out the center lines (which can be separated on your die set) on 2 of the popsicles.  I mounted the popsicles that had the center lines cut out on dimensional adhesive over the solid popsicles.

Gotta keep this short and sweet today.  See you tomorrow for another great Confetti Camera post you won’t wanna miss!

SHAKE IT UP

By admin
on May 27, 2014

Hello and Happy Tuesday, ‘Fetti Fans!

I’m sitting here staring out my living room window looking at the blue sky touched with pink from a beautiful sunset with the palm trees dancing in the breeze.  It’s hard to believe that just a couple of hours ago I was making a mad dash through ankle deep puddles to my car after getting a haircut.  It reminds me of the quote stating that there can be no rainbows without rain.  It also reminds be of the weatherman stating that he couldn’t rule out a stray shower or two.  I guess we can’t all be spot on all the time, right?

That’s kinda how I felt making this card for today’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY post…not spot on!

Shaker1

As you can see this is a shaker card.  I’ve made at least a dozen shaker cards in my cardmaking career (everything old is new again, right?).  I know the supplies and the steps and I know how it all comes together.  Apparently, that all went out the window when I sat down to make this one, which took two (almost 3 attempts).

Take One went something like this…

Cut

Stamp

Layer

Adhere

Step back and admire the fun-ness

Reach for the sequins

Realize I forgot the acetate window sheet

Expletive flies from mouth

Project flies into trash

So, for Take Two on this card I made sure to remember the acetate sheet.

Only to forget the sequins.

Yes, really.  Seriously, who does that?

Me.

Fortunately, I had not pressed the paper to the foam adhesive so hard as to make it Fort Knox, so I was able to pry open a corner and dump in the sequins.

I don’t even want to know how Take Three would have gone, so I am thankful I was able to save Take Two!

Here’s a detail shot of the shaker portion of the card stamped with a sentiment from the SWEET THING stamp set…

shaker3

I cut off about an inch from the left side of the card base and adhered a DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER edge for another fun detail to this card…

CONFETTI CAMERA

By admin
on May 22, 2014

Howdy ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s Thursday and time for CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions/show a tip until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

3) For this round we are focusing on how Reverse Confetti stamp sets are compatible with each other and each of the Confetti Crew members is picking two of their favorites to pair together on their project.

. . . . .

Today on Confetti Camera, the spotlight is on the uber fab, AMY SHEFFER

AmySIntroPic

Hi ‘Fetti fans! For today’s card, I’ve combined two sets from our latest release, OLIVER OWL and YOU MAKE ME SMILE, in a super fun, quirky way!

RCyoumakemesmile2_0522confetticamera_aks

I just adore the glasses in both Oliver Owl, Freida Fox, and BeBe Bunny, and thought Oliver’s square ones would be fun to use with the word “smile” in YOU MAKE ME SMILE. (There’s a third set in there, too – the eyes are from PETALS ‘N POSIES.) The grin, which I cut with my Cameo, is actually from a jack-o-lantern parts collection, of all things!

RCyoumakemesmile2detail_0522confetticamera_aks

The new DOIN’ THE WAVE CONFETTI CUTS die makes an appearance, as do old favorites, LOVE NOTE, DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER, and OFFICE EDGES. (I love my RC dies!) For fun, I spritzed the main panel with some aqua mist and accented with clear sequins.

CHARMED, I’M SURE

By admin
on May 21, 2014

Hello and Happy Wednesday, ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS.

Today, I’m sharing a charm that I created using the CLASS ACT stamp set and CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts…Apple5

Here’s the easy peasy how-to on creating this fun charm that makes a great addition to any packaging…

First, cut out:

1 stamped image apple

1 green cardstock leaf

4 thin chipboard apples

2 thin chipboard leaves

Apple1

Next, stack and adhere the apples together and the leaves together.  Using a Crop-o-dile, punch a hole at the top of the apple.

Apple2

Attach the leaf to the apple, add a linen thread bow and then thread a ball chain through.  Sidenote: I just *had to have* this mini ball chain when I found it at a craft show 5+ years ago.  This is the first time I have used it.  Lesson…never doubt that you need something.  It will come in handy one day.  (Yea, that’s what I’ll keep telling myself…LOL!)

Here it is attached to a SWEET TREAT TENT that I cut down to make a little shorter and then added the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER to.  The sentiment is from the CLASS ACT stamp set…

Apple4

It’s also a fun and easy way to dress up a store bought bag.  After the gift has been opened the charm can be attached to a school bag, etc.

MAY COLOR CHALLENGE

By admin
on May 16, 2014

TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

The weekend is *this* close!  I’m capping off a long week by volunteering at my son’s Pre-K field day this morning.  (eek!)  Later, I hope to find myself in the studio today to wrap up some awesome projects I have started.  Crossing my fingers that they will turn out just like they are in my head.  (eek…again!)

. . . . .

Today, I am so super excited to bring you the MAY COLOR CHALLENGE.  For those of you that are new to Reverse Confetti, or if you haven’t participated before, here are the details that you want to know…

  • There will be a new Color Challenge posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 16th of each month.

  • The color link list will be open from the 16th until noon CST on the 29th. The color challenge graphic will be posted in the sidebar and you will be able to click on it to get to that month’s challenge post with the link list during this time.

  • Reverse Confetti stamps are required to win.  This is a way we get to thank our customers for using our stamps.  Anyone is welcome to play, though!

  • You may enter as many times as you wish.

  • There will be a winner each month and that person will receive a $20 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store and claim the title of ‘Fetti Fave. The winner of Color Challenge will be posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 30th of this month.

Have fun with this beautiful color combo…

May14ColorChallenge

I love how these colors look against the kraft neutral base…

Color

To created this banner, I used the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die and cut out one from dark pink and one from orange.  I then trimmed off the small scallop side and made banner pieces by cutting across in the middle of the scallops.  I added the hearts from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts set in light pink to complete all of the colors in the challenge.

While I loved the colors with the kraft, it needed a pop of white.  I cut a large tag from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set, trimmed off the top and sewed it to the top edge of the card.  Under the tag, I stamped “birthday wishes” from the SWEET THING stamp set.  I finished it all off by layering clear sequins, gold sequins and dark pink rhinestones (I guess I really like the bling!).

. . . . .

You know the drill…grab that cuppa joe (or tea), sit back and relax as we kick off this COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI!

HOOT HOOT HOORAY, it’s our birthday!

In addition to it being out birthday, it’s that time of year when our focus turn to Dads and Grads and our latest “cutie” in the QUIRKY CUTIES collection is just perfect for all those guys (and gals) in your life.  Plus, you’ll find fun uses for him throughout the year.

Without further adieu, let me introduce you to OLIVER OWL

OliverOwl300

I just adore OLIVER OWL and had so much fun coloring and creating with him!  (Even if you are not a “colorer,” these images are lots of fun to play with!)

For this card, I had Oliver take center stage with the sentiment stitched to the rounded rectangle (CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts) just behind him.  I backed that panel with cuts from TAG ME and the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts.  He’s colored with both warm and cool grays and I think he goes perfectly with the woodgrain paper that I’ve been hoarding for a couple of months now…

Today, we are also introducing the new set WINNING, along with the companion WINNING Confetti Cuts die set…

A little side note and Reverse Confetti trivia for you…this was actually one of the first sets that I sketched and created concepts for when things got going last year.  However, it just wasn’t meant to be at that time and I am glad I hung onto it, edited it, sent it to a different illustrator (Angelica Suarez) and ended up with this fantastic set perfect for all the champs in your life…

WinningGraphic300

The Confetti Cuts die set features the trophy, the trophy base, the pennant and the starburst…

WinningConfettiCutsProductGraphic

The new OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set is the perfect compliment to the WINNING stamps and Confetti Cuts, too.  The (single) stars in this set are the same size as the stars in the WINNING stamp set.

OhMyStarsConfettiCutsProductGraphic

. . . . .

I was apparently channeling my inner Dallas Cowboys fan with this color scheme on my first card featuring WINNING stamps and Confetti Cuts, and the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set.  However, any Cowboys fan will tell you that colors are where the team stops as the muse for this card (sorry ‘Boys…hoping for a better season this year).

Winning1

I used the tab from the OFFICE EDGES Confetti Cuts to display the word, “hooray” from a WINNING set sentiment.  You can also see the dimension on this card and the detail of the star strip behind the trophy/trophy base…

Winning1_detail2

It’s been awhile since I broke out the Diamond Glaze, but this card just needed a little “something” as a special touch and this was it!  On this shot, you can also see that I slightly shaded the trophy (Copic C3 and Blender), too.

Winning1_detail

I’ve been having quite a bit of fun in my studio lately creating with these new stamps and Confetti Cuts.  While I love doing lots of layers on cards and other paper crafting projects, it’s so nice to keep it simple sometimes.

For this card, I cut 3 of the star strips (OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts) and attached 3 shades of purple cardstock to create this ombre card with a sentiment from the WINNING stamp set.

Card2

Detail shot…

Card2_detail

I also did the same layout with a more masculine color scheme and embellishments (stars cut from OH MY STARS in cork)…

. . . . .

There is so much more inspiration to see using all these stamps and dies that are releasing on May 8th!
