I have a couple of projects to share with you today. This first one is a card that uses the very trendy PINEAPPLES APLENTY Confetti Cuts die along with the HELLO Confetti Cuts die…
I created this 3d pineapple by cutting 4 of the pineapples from yellow patterned paper and 4 pineapple crowns from thin green cardstock. I folded all the pineapples in half and adhered them to each other. I then folded the crowns in half and adhered them to the pineapples.
Are you thinking, “How could this fit in an envelope?” Easy, actually…the pineapple can be pressed flat to fit into an envelope!
Detail shot…
The “hello” sentiment is cut from the HELLO Confetti Cuts die in navy and white. I slightly offset the white under the navy for a little depth and detail…

A couple of weeks ago, my kiddos went to grandma’s house in California. While they were there I got a lot done around the new (to us) house and office. They got to have a little break from Mom & Dad and get spoiled by all the relatives there. They enjoyed a few days spent at the beach (maybe I should have gone, too!). When I got a few of the pics from the beach days, I knew that I wanted to do something crafty with them (…or the only one that actually printed well).
I didn’t actually know how this project would end when I started. First, I thought I’d do a frame with a couple of pocket cards. Then, I thought that I would do a mini book. That idea went down the drain when I picked up the photos and realized that there was only one worth doing anything with. Alas, I came across an old photo display (think Christmas from 5+ years ago in the dollar section at Michaels). It’s a 2x2x2 wood block with a wire swirly doo-dad and it was perfect for this…
Here’s a closer look at each of the pieces…
The base is covered in squares of patterned paper cut just under 2×2″. I cut 2 strips of the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die and wrapped it around the bottom and embellished it with sequins and rhinestones. I kept it simple, as I did not want it to distract from the photo display.
The journaled panel is cut from the DOCUMENTED Confetti Cuts die set and stamped with the RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW stamp set. I love that I can stamp these in different colors to coordinate with my palette/theme…
The base of this panel is cut from the WOODGRAIN Confetti Cuts die. The FABULOUS FLAMINGO (cut with the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set) takes center stage on top of the GIVE THANKS LABEL panel. I cut 2 suns from the SUN ‘N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts die set and topped it off with the button and linen thread…
One more shot of the entire cluster…
This was a super fun project to create! I think I’ve said before that I don’t really scrapbook. However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t love to preserve (and embellish) the pics of fun times. I guess, for me, it’s best to think “outside the (scrap)book.” How do you like to preserve your memories?
