AUGUST CREATIVE HOP

By Jen del Muro
on August 08, 2015

Hello ‘Fetti Fans and welcome to the AUGUST CREATIVE HOP!  If where you are is anything like here in North Texas, the mercury is on the rise.  Good thing we have lots (&  lots) of COOL inspiration to share with you today!

SummerFunHop

Of course, we have a little something up for grabs, too!  Just leave a comment on each of the blog hop posts and we’ll select a winner for a $15 Reverse Confetti gift certificate.  Comments are open through Monday at noon CST and we’ll announce the winner on Tuesday, August 11th.

There is a full list of hoppers towards the end of this post in case of any breaks, etc.

. . . . .

I have a couple of projects to share with you today.  This first one is a card that uses the very trendy PINEAPPLES APLENTY Confetti Cuts die along with the HELLO Confetti Cuts die…

PineappleHello

I created this 3d pineapple by cutting 4 of the pineapples from yellow patterned paper and 4 pineapple crowns from thin green cardstock.  I folded all the pineapples in half and adhered them to each other.  I then folded the crowns in half and adhered them to the pineapples.

Are you thinking, “How could this fit in an envelope?”  Easy, actually…the pineapple can be pressed flat to fit into an envelope!

Detail shot…

PineappleHello1

The “hello” sentiment is cut from the HELLO Confetti Cuts die in navy and white.  I slightly offset the white under the navy for a little depth and detail…

PineappleHello2

. . . . .

A couple of weeks ago, my kiddos went to grandma’s house in California.   While they were there I got a lot done around the new (to us) house and office. They got to have a little break from Mom & Dad and get spoiled by all the relatives there.  They enjoyed a few days spent at the beach (maybe I should have gone, too!). When I got a few of the pics from the beach days, I knew that I wanted to do something crafty with them (…or the only one that actually printed well).

I didn’t actually know how this project would end when I started.  First, I thought I’d do a frame with a couple of pocket cards.  Then, I thought that I would do a mini book. That idea went down the drain when I picked up the photos and realized that there was only one worth doing anything with.  Alas, I came across an old photo display (think Christmas from 5+ years ago in the dollar section at Michaels).  It’s a 2x2x2 wood block with a wire swirly doo-dad and it was perfect for this…

PhotoProject

Here’s a closer look at each of the pieces…

The base is covered in squares of patterned paper cut just under 2×2″.  I cut 2 strips of the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die and wrapped it around the bottom and embellished it with sequins and rhinestones.  I kept it simple, as I did not want it to distract from the photo display.

PhotoProject1

The journaled panel is cut from the DOCUMENTED Confetti Cuts die set and stamped with the RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW stamp set.  I love that I can stamp these in different colors to coordinate with my palette/theme…

PhotoProject4

The base of this panel is cut from the WOODGRAIN Confetti Cuts die.  The FABULOUS FLAMINGO (cut with the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set) takes center stage on top of the GIVE THANKS LABEL panel.  I cut 2 suns from the SUN ‘N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts die set and topped it off with the button and linen thread…

PhotoProject3

One more shot of the entire cluster…

PhotoProject2

This was a super fun project to create!  I think I’ve said before that I don’t really scrapbook.  However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t love to preserve (and embellish) the pics of fun times.   I guess, for me, it’s best to think “outside the (scrap)book.”  How do you like to preserve your memories?

. . . . .

As you know this is just your very first stop in this fabulous hop!  The Confetti Crew and ‘Fetti Friends have a lot of summer inspired projects to share with you today.  So, kick back, grab that cuppa and happy hopping!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By Jen del Muro
on February 18, 2015

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

Welcome to this week’s edition of WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS?

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.  Today, Confetti Crew member Sarah Gough has a great video to share with you about how to make a darling gift wrap card.

. . . . .

SarahIntroPic

For Wednesday in the Works today, I turned to that little workhorse of a die set, the Office Edges Confetti Cuts! I’ve used a tab from the Office Edges to create a little pocket, turning your card into the perfect giftwrap for a little piece of jewelry, giftcard or cash. My card features a magnetic closure, but you can also use ribbon and I’ll show you both options.

CONFETTI CAMERA

By admin
on November 13, 2014

Hey, hey ‘Fetti Fans!  We’re pretty excited here today as we start the newest round of Confetti Camera!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from cards completed inside and out from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same “theme” until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

Today on Confetti Camera we have my bestie and a super talented stamper, SUSAN LILES

SusanIntroPic

Well, today is my turn to have the spotlight for our new Confetti Camera theme, Inside and Out.

It’s not a new idea to complete the inside of your card, but it’s one that isn’t hardly thought of once the card front is finished.  I know whenever I show my mom a completed card I’ve done, she always wants to open it to see what’s inside!  (Usually nothing.)

 DSC03154

DSC03155

A little about my card:  I used the Fabulous Flamingos stamps and Confetti Cuts for the main focus of my card.  The greeting is from the Lots to Say set.  I had a little fun making everything off-kilter and I used several other Confetti Cuts dies to finish off my embellishing–the Double Edge Scallop Border, a flower from the Petals ‘n Posies set, and a couple of hearts from the Love Note Confetti Cuts.  I love how everything is nestled around and on top of the large scallop circle from Circles ‘n Scallops!  The inside of my card, carried the same theme, but I used the Sweet Thing set for the stamped sentiment.

The inside…

DSC03157

I have to say that taking the time to do this extra step was super simple, as I already had everything on my desk to do it.  It’s a great way to use up those scraps and extra Confetti Cuts that always seem to be hanging around, waiting for a “home”.  (And my mom was thrilled to see the inside finished out this time!)
