Greetings, ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Thursday!

. . . . .

It’s Thursday and time for another awesome CONFETTI CAMERA!

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly (Thursday) segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations.

For this round each of our designers are working on Celebrations!  However, there is a little something different…I have challenged them to use black, white and ONE other color.  I think you are going to LOVE what you see!

A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

Up in the spotlight today is the fabulous and fun…AMY KOLLING!

Who doesn’t like a challenge?  This round’s Confetti Camera is all about black, white, and another color.  I decided on some fall colors using black, white, gray, and the new Tangerine Confetti Colors Ink.  I’ve used the Blooms ‘N Buds stamps to create a stamped folk art pattern and adding in some small details like the apple stem from Class Act.

To enhance the stamped areas, I’ve used a white pigment ink pen for detailing.  A die cut “thanks” from Thanks Tag Confetti Cuts was die cut, layered, and adhered over the center of my stamped area.  This panel was given stitched details along the edges using the Edge Essentials Confetti Cuts.  The panel was adhered using foam adhesive for dimension to a trimmed notecard that has the black and white gingham pattern paper, from Fright Night added.

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Hump Day!

Today on WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS Amy is going to share with you some tips and tricks to creating with florals.

Are you asking “what exactly is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS?”  It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  It’s us taking a closer look at how something is created, etc.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

. . . . .

Hello ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy S. here with this week’s Wednesday in the Works. I’ve put together a floral sympathy card for today featuring a mix of older and newer Reverse Confetti products. I’m also using the July Sketch For You To Try. If you haven’t uploaded your SFYTT entry, you have until noon CST on the 29th! Just click the sidebar button to add your card to the link list!

Reverse Confetti has a fantastic assortment of stamps and dies that I love using for floral focal points and accents. Here I’ve paired flowers from Garden Bunch with leaves from Leafy and some additional greenery from Layered Laurels and Rose Garden.

Tips for arranging a floral cluster or bouquet:

  1. Use a mix of different sized flowers.
  2. When the flowers are the same color, try varying the shade slightly so there is some contrast. This helps keep your arrangement looking more organic and natural.
  3. Use a mixture of different types of greens. For example the Leafy leaves are more full and founded, whereas the fern-style sprigs from Rose Garden and Layered Laurels are more branch-like. Also, consider mixing together different visual textures, for example some could be watercolored and others could be solid colors.
  4. Cluster the leaves and sprigs in two or three areas around the flowers, varying the size and “weight” of each. For example, I added more leaves and other greens to the left of my flowers than I did to the right. This also helps your arrangement feel more natural.

My sentiment, from Petals ‘N Posies, is white embossed on vellum. Behind the floral cluster and sentiment is a Swirlies die-cut. I love how this gives a wreath look to the flowers. Behind that is an ombre ink-blended Double Panel Hearts die-cut. For added interest on the white background panel, I did some ink-blending and splattering along the top and added an Edge Essentials border along the bottom.

Thanks so much for joining me today!

. . . . .

When I was growing up, my mom had a rose garden in our backyard.  I love the smell of the roses growing right outside of my room and the cut blooms that often were displayed on our kitchen counter.  I would have to that memories are a definite point of inspiration when creating with this new set…

Of course, we have a coordinating Confetti Cuts die set, too…

The ROSE GARDEN Confetti Cuts die set has 2 additional greenery pieces for you to adorn your rose die cuts.

My first card today features the large open rose watercolored and die cut…

I stamped, cut and colored 3 of these blooms along with the line-art leaves to create this bouquet placed on top of the TOPPED OFF TAG Confetti Cuts that is stamped with a sentiment from the ROSE GARDEN set.

I also topped off the roses with a little bit of shimmer using my Sakura Stardust pen.  This picture captures a few of the beautiful sparkles, as well as the watercolor detail…

. . . . .

For my next card, I wanted to keep it very clean and simple because it is a sympathy card.

I lightly watercolored the background with a soft aqua.  I then stamped the “with heartfelt sympathy” sentiment to the left and embellished with the ROSE GARDEN stamps and Confetti Cuts to the right.

The roses and leaves are stamped with dye ink and then detail/shadow lines were added with Copics…

One more detail shot…

. . . . .

There is so much more inspiration to see using these stamps and dies that are releasing on MARCH 8th!

Check out the Confetti Crew & Friends’ posts.

Be sure to leave a comment at each stop along the way for a chance to win!

I have a couple of projects to share with you today featuring some of the new product that is now available.  There is a link list to the Confetti Crew just below my projects for all of the Confetti Crew and our February ‘Fetti Friend posting today.  The inspiration is contagious, let me tell you!

My first project today is 2 tags featuring the new HIPPITY HOPPITY stamp and Confetti Cuts die sets along with the new Hoppin’ Dots QUICK CARD PANELS and EDGERS Confetti Cuts…

These tags are cut using our TOPPED OFF TAG Confetti Cuts die set.  I then stamped, colored and layered the bunnies and their design elements atop a hill created with the new curved line EDGER Confetti Cuts.

The girl bunny card also features a cloud cut from the SUN ‘N CLOUDS Confetti Cuts die set and then stamped with the SO STRIPEY stamp set.  The sentiment is stamped with white pigment ink on the bottom edge…

For the boy bunny tag, I cut it from the new Hoppin’ Dots QUICK CARD PANELS.  I just love the “Hippity Hop Hop” saying on this one!

. . . . .

My other project for today features the new THE LORD’S STRENGTH stamp set, along with the GIVE THANKS LABEL Confetti Cuts die set (re-released last month) and the WOODGRAIN and LEAFY Confetti Cuts die sets…

I don’t know that I could technically classify this under a “fun fold” type of card, but I did trim off about an inch on the right side of this card for a little added detail.  I love how it came out!

Detail shot of the sentiment embossed on the GIVE THANKS LABEL die cut…

There’s lots and lots more to see today!  Hop on over to…
