QUIRKY CUTIES HOP

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

Instead of Confetti Camera, today we are having a super fun hop with super fun prizes!

If you are looking for the start of the hop, you are in the right place!  There’s a full list of hoppers later in this post in case of any breaks.

. . . . .

Today’s hop is all about our QUIRKY CUTIES line of stamps here at Reverse Confetti.

Originally, “Quirky Cuties” was going to be a single set.  However, I am a little indecisive and I just *love* how fun these cuties are, so I developed them into an entire line.  So far, we have four cuties…with more coming with each release.

Today, I am sharing a card I made with our very first cutie, FREIDA FOX.

FreidaProductSheet200

QCHOPCard

Frieda is ton of fun to color, paper piece or just leave as line art!  It’s just one of the reasons that I adore this image (ok, well, I adore all of them).

I used my Copics to color her fur, flower and shoes and then I paper pieced her dress, scarf and heart.  Here is she is on circle panels cut from the new CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts.  I went with white on white for those panels so that Freida would stand out more.

Detail pic of Freida Fox and the heart topped with Diamond Glaze…

QCHOPCard2

To embellish the card, I cut out the large heart from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set and topped it with a button tied off with green linen thread.  I also added a trio of colorful enamel dots to mimic the pattern paper.

TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

What a fun week it has been here in the del Muro house!  The kids had VBS all week, which I have to admit was awesome for me.  I had a few extra hours a day to prep for the upcoming release.  I’m doing a lot of prep ahead of time because we are having a family fun week next week.  It’s time to turn of the computers, phones, etc. and focus on what is most important in everyone’s life: family.

. . . . .

Friday brings the WEEK IN REVERSE where we take a peek back at what the super talented Confetti Crew has been up to!

I love that Laurie combined the anchor from HAPPY HARBOR with the sentiment from HERE WE GO.  The stripes on top (from SO STRIPEY) are great for the theme and the finishing touch of the heart strip (LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts) is perfection!

Sometimes having little color makes for big impact, like shown here on Amy Sheffer’s card using TAG ME Confetti Cuts and the WINNING stamp set…

Heather is the master with PEACOCK PRETTIES!  I love the large feather paired with the sentiment from LOTS TO SAY

Sarah had fun with this month’s color challenge and FREIDA FOX

I love this color combo on Lisa’s card using the WINNING STAMP set paired with the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set…

Here’s another one from Lisa featuring her fun and creative style along with HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO Confetti Cuts and DOIN’ THE WAVE

Reverse Confetti + scrapping + altered art + Amber Hight = WOWZAS

Kathy created this fabulous card using WINNING and OH MY STARS

Leigh cleverly created 2 pattern papers (card base and pattern strip) to create this gorgeous card using PETALS ‘N POSIES and LOTS TO SAY

Howdy and TGIF, ‘Fetti Fans!

For those following our relocation…more of the same happening over here in the del Muro household…hurry up and wait.  Everyone needs a decision about this or that here and now, but on the flipside we are just sitting and waiting and trying to get ready to go.  I still have ants in my pants about not being able to pack up anything so I’m just sorting a few things and getting ready of the release…NEXT SATURDAY!  Getting inky has been able to take my mind off of the move a little…thank goodness!  More updates to come as the move date approaches (mid-March).  Until then, the focus is here…

Before we get to the WEEK IN REVERSE portion of this post, we need to get a drumroll going for this month’s COLOR CHALLENGE WINNER…

winner_color

Here’s Cathy’s card using the February colors: cranberry, light blue and gray along with the HAPPY HARBOR stamp set and TAG ME Confetti Cuts…

Cathy, please email info@reverseconfetti.com for your prize.

Thank you to everyone that played along.  The submissions were absolutely INCREDIBLE…as always.  It makes my heart swell to see all your Reverse Confetti creations!

It’s Friday and time for WEEK IN REVERSE, where we take a look back at what the most awesome design team, The Confetti Crew, has been up to this week.

Susan broke out her Copics and played with FREIDA FOX this week!  Isn’t she darling?  And, if you are wondering…we will soon be introducing you to a friend of hers!

I like card making, but I LOVE seeing Reverse Confetti stamps and Confetti Cuts dies being used in a variety of paper crafting project, like Leigh’s beautiful scrapbook page featuring SWEET THING and TAG ME Confetti Cuts.  You can also see Leigh on this week’s Confetti Camera post (Thursday, 2/27).

Another great ABC (anything but a card) project from Amber using SWEET TREAT TENT Confetti Cuts, TAG ME Confetti Cuts, SWEET THING and WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS.

Sarah says she’s on a tag making kick…I think I’ve been on one of those for the last few years! It’s easy with the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set (and ARROW Confetti Cuts, too)!  Here she paired it with CRUSHIN’ and WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS for a very sweet giftie…

Pink+Orange+INNER ROCK STAR= awesome cards from Stacey and Heather!

Heather created part of her background with WHOLE LOTTA DOTS, too.

http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3748/12688465995_b8b63605d4_b.jpg

As proven above, great minds think alike.  I love all the positive energy coming from the PAPER CRANE set!  Lisa, Susan and Amy all inked it up this week for wonderfully creative and original designs…

Susan’s card also uses WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS and the TAG ME Confetti Cuts.

Amy also added the TAG ME Confetti Cuts to her creation.

Amber also used PAPER CRANE this week.  Her creation features on of the other sentiments and a very cool layout!

Amy K.’s card is a cool collection of a variety of Reverse Confetti products including the Christmas(!!) set, BRING ON THE MERRY, INNER ROCK STAR and TAG ME Confetti Cuts.

2.27.14

Amy S.’ GO TOGETHER card with those darling die cuts to match the oh-so-perfect sentiment makes me smile!

Val shares more than moolah on her blog.  You can check out her Pocket Tag tutorial using  HERE.  Such a fun card (and tag!) and she always WOWS me with how she combines her RC products.  On this card she used CRUSHIN’, ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS, SWEET THING and TAG ME Confetti Cuts.

I was amazed how many sets that Sarah used to create this fabulous card.  I love that it’s so easy to mix and match Reverse Confetti stamps (and, yes, we do that on purpose)!

COUNT YOUR RAINBOWS, WHOLE LOTTA DOTS, PEACOCK PRETTIES, PAPER CRANE, TAG ME Confetti Cuts, DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts

Lisa card is just so…foxy! (sorry, had to)

FREIDA FOX, PAPER CRANE, LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts

It’s amazing how differently people use this color palette.  I love the darker base of this card from Stacey…makes the light blue and cranberry just POP!

GO TOGETHER, LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts, TAG ME Confetti Cuts

In contrast, Leigh’s lighter base is equally as powerful…and beautiful!

Hello and Happy Thursday, ‘Fetti Fans!

Update on the move: Inspections on both our current and future home are complete.  We are now in the “hurry up and wait” mode for the next few weeks as we await the closing dates.  I’m getting really excited about our future home!  I’ve been picking up a few things here and there…Home Goods and I are getting to know each other quite well!  In addition, I’ve been calling preschools and after school activity places and trying to find the right spots for our kiddos and their interests.

. . . . .

It’s Thursday and time for CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions/show a tip until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

Today the spotlight is on Confetti Crew member, AMBER HIGHT

Hello and Happy Friday, ‘Fetti Fans!

Wow…Friday already!  This week has flown by! Anyone else ready for the weekend? We are having my lil’ man’s birthday party this weekend.  It’s a Batman theme and most of the RSVPs have been girls.  Looks like I’m going to be figuring out a way to incorporate some pink here and there for this party…good thing that comes naturally to me!

. . . . .

It’s Friday and it’s time for WEEK IN REVERSE…where we take a look back at what the Confetti Crew has been up to this week.

Val’s own (not so) lil’ (anymore) man had a birthday this week and this is the fabulous card that she created for him.

SO STRIPEY, WHOLE LOTTA DOTS, ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS, TAG ME Confetti Cuts

CHA was wonderful and I am so glad that I got to share a lot of the time there with two of the Confetti Crew team members: Stacey Schafer and Amy Kolling.  Stacey made these super darling burlap sacks filled with a personalized stamp for each of us.  How sweet is that!?

SWEET THING, LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts, ARROW Confetti Cuts, TAG ME Confetti Cuts, DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts

Lisa really made me say, “Awww” out loud when I saw this over the top cute (and foxy!) card.

Here’s another one of Lisa’s cards with a much more masculine feel to it.

Hello ‘Fetti Fans and TGIF!

What a week it has been…chock full of creativity and inspiration from our sneak peeks and new release hop!  It’s been amazing, to say the least!

. . . . .

As a reminder, our offices will be closed on Monday. Normal office hours and shipping will resume on Tuesday.

All orders placed by 5pm CST today will ship before I head out to sunny California for some fun, friends and CHA.

. . . . .

It’s Friday and it’s time for WEEK IN REVERSE.  This WIR post is going to be a re-cap of some of my favorite projects from our Confetti Crew, Challenge Crew and our January/February ‘Fetti Friend.  Let’s get this party started!

Does it get any cuter than this? Daniela created the most A-DOR-ABLE decor piece with FREIDA FOX from our  *new* Quirky Cuties line.  The overlapping embossed hearts in the background are from the new WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS set and she is holding the XOXO banner from the set, CRUSHIN’

Amy Sheffer also created an A-MA-ZING decor piece using the new set, PAPER CRANE

Do you love making little gifties?  We do, too!

Here, Sarah used the new WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS and SWEET THING  sets, along with the TAG ME and (new) LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set to create this super sweet gift set…

Susan created a fun treat using the SWEET TREAT TENT Confetti Cuts die paired with the new SWEET THING stamp set and (previously released) TAG ME Confetti Cuts banner…

Val’s gift card holder using a combination of the new LOVE NOTE, ARROW and (previously released) TAG ME Confetti Cuts with the sets CRUSHIN’, SWEET THING, WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS and SO STRIPEY is just too cute…

Amy has clever use of the SWEET TREAT TENT Confetti Cuts die as a lollipop holder. She added a TAG ME Confetti Cuts tag and banner, along with the new ARROW Confetti Cuts.   She also used the new stamp sets WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS and SWEET THING. Super fun and easy kiddo Valentines!

sweetthing

Need a quick and easy addition to a gift sack?  Leigh’s tags using TAG ME and the new SWEET THING stamp set are just perfect!

Need a love note…or two, or three?  Check out Lisa’s sweet notes to her guys using the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts set paired with the new CRUSHIN’ stamp set…

Great minds think alike!

Here ‘Fetti Friend, Wida, created a spinner card using SWEET THING and WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS

RC Guest Sweet

Heather used the same concept here with PAPER CRANE

Looks like Heather also had a brain share with Laurie Willison. I love these sweet and simple designs they came up with!

Here’s Heather’s card using WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS and SWEET THING along with the TAG ME Confetti Cuts…

And, here’s Laurie’s darling card using SWEET THING and TAG ME Confetti Cuts, too (love this color palette)…

IMG_0958

Do you love the new ARROW Confetti Cuts die?  We do, too!  Check out how the Confetti Crew played with it and metallic papers.

Stacey’s layers are just awesome, but that ARROW Confetti Cuts die takes center stage!  This card also uses the stamp set CRUSHIN’, as well as the new LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die…

Amber’s on trend gold arrow is the perfect embellishment to this card using the new CRUSHIN’ stamp set…

Savannah’s ARROW is red hot!  She also paired it with the new CRUSHIN’ stamp set…

Want to see how Savannah put this card together start to finish?  Check out her video…

Last, but most certainly not least, I leave you today with Laurie’s oh-so-colorful card, filled with lots of detail using the new WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS and CRUSHIN’ sets, as well as the ARROW Confetti Cuts…

We’re glad that you are joining us for this week’s Confetti Camera!

Today the spotlight is on Confetti Crew member, HEATHER PULVIRENTI.

I love heat embossing, it’s my all-time favorite technique! It’s fast, fun and adds a little something extra to cards/projects.  One of the questions I get asked most often by email is how I manage to avoid those pesky, stray embossing speckles.  You know the ones, the little stray pieces of embossing powder that seem to cling to your card, even when you’ve tapped, shaken and flicked your card base to remove the excess.  I don’t have a magic wand, but my go-to tool is a super tiny paintbrush (brush bristle tip measures about 1-1.5 mm)! It’s great for cleaning up the specks in detailed stamp images and sentiments.

010914d

Here are some other tips and tricks to help you get the best results:

• Start off by swiping your paper with an Embossing Buddy or drier sheet. (I usually tap the Embossing Buddy pouch on the card stock lightly, then spread the powder over the paper… Any excess powder can be wiped off after heat embossing.)

• Use a juicy Versamark pad for inking. (The drier the ink, the less your embossing powder will stick to it, so make sure you re-ink often.)

• Allow your heat tool to warm up briefly before you try to heat the embossing powder. (This will cut down on the amount of time you spend heating your card stock, and also help prevent embossing powder from being blown onto other areas of your paper.)

• Use your heat tool on the underside of the card stock from about a half inch away – the paper will begin to curl, but should flatten out more-or-less by the time the embossing powder melts. (This also helps the embossing powder melt evenly.)
