Hello there, ‘Fetti Fans!

Do you have your badge?  Get it HERE.

Fetti Fan Badge

. . . . .

The weekend is in view!  Do you have anything fun planned?  We are having a get together with another family for some Halloween fun.  I’m looking forward to preparing/eating Halloween themed foods and letting the kids make Zombie Goo (slime).  I’ll post pics of the good times next week.

Any other pics you want to see?…like, maybe a super duper sneak peek of the November release?  Hmmm… (wink).

. . . . .

I love Thursdays here on the Reverse Confetti blog!  Why?  Because it’s time for CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions/show a tip until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

3) For this round we have been focusing on ABC (anything but a card) project.  Prepare to be inspired!

Today on Confetti Camera we have the ridiculously talented (and just as sweet), LAURIE SCHMIDLIN

. . . . .

Hi Confetti fans! Laurie here to share a couple of fun Fall ABC Projects (Anything But a Card/Tag)!

Having a lot of kids means having a lot of cards and gifts to give around the Holidays! With Halloween and Thanksgiving approaching quickly, I thought I had better get started on those! Two of my sons go to a small rural school which has only a handful of students in it. I like to give out small gifts this time of year, but because I still have a toddler to tend to, I need something that I can mass produce in a short amount of time. This first box is one that I will be making for Halloween.

 Ghostie Box by Laurie Schmidlin

I started by stamping the fence image (from the SPOOKY CUTIES set) onto the acetate box using Black Stazon ink. A tip that I have found to help me when stamping on very slippery surfaces is to make sure I hold the stamp straight over the surface (not at an angle). I added the cute ghostie to the front of the box, popping him up so that he appears to be floating. I stamped the sentiment (from the SPOOKY SENTIMENTS set) using Black Stazon ink.

Ghostie Box (Detail) by Laurie Schmidlin

 . . . . .

My next box is one that I will be giving to my sons’ teachers for Thanksgiving. I started by using the TREAT TOTE Confetti Cuts die to create the treat box. To decorate the front, I stamped the woodgrain image (from the FOREVER FALL set) onto strips of matching cardstock and then sponged the edges a bit with a dark ink. The label was created by stamping the sentiment from the Give Thanks stamp set and cutting it outusing the coordinating GIVE THANKS LABEL Confetti Cuts die set. I filled the box with a clear bag of mixed roasted nuts. I also might add some homemade candied almonds…mmmmm!

I hope this has inspired you to come up with an easy to mass produce gift item! They don’t need to take a lot of time to be super cute and heartfelt!

TGIF!

Ever have on of those weeks?  Yep, it’s been one of those.  I realized yesterday that I haven’t had a chance to create anything and today, I am setting aside some time to do just that.  I have a feeling my perspective on things might just be a little sunnier after that happens (and during, too).  What have you been up to creatively this week?  Have you had a chance to play along in this month’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY?  If not, check it out HERE and play along for a fun chance to win.

. . . . .

Being that it is Friday, it is time for our WEEK IN REVERSE where we take a peek back at what the Confetti Crew has been up to lately.

Howdy there, ‘Fetti Fans!

Anyone else excited about this weekend?  You probably already know, but in case you didn’t…Saturday is WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!  We have a very special announcement to make on Saturday, so stay tuned you won’t want to miss it!

It’s Thursday and time for a great Confetti Camera where you will learn how to make an adorably scary tote!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

3) For this round we are focusing on ABC (anything but a card) projects.  Keep your eyes peeled for some fabulous ways to use your Reverse Confetti stamps!

. . . . .

Today on Confetti Camera we have the super fun and wildly talented, HEATHER PULVIRENTI

HeatherIntroPic

Hi ‘Fetti Fans! Heather P. here today to share a frightfully fun Frankenstein treat tote I created entirely from Confetti Cuts! I had such a blast putting together the pink monster for September’s Color Challenge, and wanted to see what else I could come up with.  With the great range of Reverse Confetti die shapes, the possibilities are endless!

 100214

To create the tote, I used the following Confetti Cuts to cut out my pieces:

Tagged Tote (tote base and eyes)

Treat Tote (Frank’s hair)

Office Edges (scars/stitches)

Fresh ‘n Fruity (larger eye)

Circles ‘n Scallops (smaller eye)

Carton Cuties (nose)

Let’s Chill (glitter neck bolts)

Doin’ the Wave (smile)

Once I had all the elements ready to go, assembly was a breeze! First, I started by adhering the sides and bottom of the Tagged Tote, then attaching the black card stock for Frankenstein’s hair.  Next, I adhered the smaller white card stock circle directly on the tote base, then added the larger white card stock circle with pop dots before adding in the nose piece.

I then adhered the two black scars (wrapping around the edges of the tote), and the red, squiggly mouth.  An exacto knife was used to cut a slit on each side of the tote to hold the glitter card stock neck bolts.  Glossy accents were then added to the gray card stock pupils, two black scars and red mouth.

 100214 CU

While the glossy accents were drying, I die cut a tag using the Give Thanks Confetti Cuts frame on a piece of turquoise polka dot patterned paper. I then stamped one of the sentiments from Spooky Sentiments in versamark ink before heat embossing it with white embossing powder.  I punched a hole in the top of the tag, then secured it to a cellophane treat bag with orange twine and a yellow clothespin.  To finish up, I placed the treat into the tote.

Well, that wraps it up for me today, but be sure to come back tomorrow for more Reverse Confetti inspiration!

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!

Can you believe it’s already October?  I’d love to say that fall is in the air, but it’s still hot and humid here in Houston.  I’m crossing my fingers in hope.

With or without the changing of the leaves, it is time for the new SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY

Oct14

The Confetti Crew has whipped up some fabulous inspiration, but let’s go over the details of this challenge first (notice the new dates!)…

There will be a new sketch posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 1st of each month.

The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 29th. The SFYTT button is  posted on the sidebar.  Click on it to be taken to the current SFYTT post and link list.

. . . . .

I know that you will have a blast with this sketch!  Feel free to make it your own, as long the sketch can still be recognized on your project.

Here’s my take on the sketch using GIVE THANKS, CAST A SPELL, SO MANY STARS, GIVE THANKS LABEL Confetti Cuts, CAST A SPELL Confetti Cuts, DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts

SFYTTOct143

I love making my own patterned paper.  To do that, I used a couple of different stars from the SO MANY STARS on the green panel.

I added the the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts in orange on the side of the right rectangular panel because it was desperately needing a pop of color.  I love how it looks!

SFYTTOct142

For my finishing touches, I added the crow from the CAST A SPELL Confetti Cuts die set that I covered in Diamond Glaze, as well as a few sequins.

Hello, hello, ‘Fetti Fans!

The weekend is in view and boy, oh boy, am I ready for it!  Football, birthday parties, my anniversary and my feet up…sounds like a plan to me!

But, alas, the weekend isn’t here quite yet.  However, we still have fun things happening right here on the Reverse Confetti blog.  It’s Thursday and it’s time for CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

Today on Confetti Camera we have the fun and fabulous, AMBER HIGHT

AmberIntroPic

Hello ‘Fetti Fans! Hope everyone is having a great week so far, I can’t believe it’s already Thursday! Thursday bring Confetti Camera here on the Reverse Confetti blog. This round, we’re creating ABC projects. I’m not big on projects or treat bags/boxes, I’m a card girl. Ha! But I’m also a VORACIOUS READER and love anything to do with books! I was thinking, what could I create that I could use for reading? A bookmark of course! I’m always on the look out for cute bookmarks, so it was really fun to make my own!

 PicC

I created a bookmark out of several Reverse Confetti Confetti Cuts and the PAPER CRANE stamp set. When going through my RC collection, I was looking for sentiments that I could use on a bookmark, and thought these sentiments from PAPER CRANE worked perfectly!

 PicA

I started out with my CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts and cut out the largest scalloped circle in turquoise, and then the next smallest plane circle in white watercolor paper. I made a little pallette of Peeled Paint distress ink and swiped the circles through the ink a few times and dried, then swiped through the wet ink and dried again until I got the amazing watercolor’y look I was going for. Unfortunately it got mostly covered up, but fortunately it’s with adorable RC Confetti Cuts, ha!  Next, I cut several flowers with the PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts and stamped the matching stamps from PETALS ‘N POSIES in various ink colors. I cut a couple small labels from the GIVE THANKS LABEL Confetti Cuts and then stamped the sentiments from PAPER CRANE. I took a piece of ribbon and glued it in the middle of the scalloped and plane circles and that’s the bookmark. Super simple and super fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope you have time today to get inky!

It’s Thursday and time for a great Confetti Camera where you will learn how to “stretch” your dies…or at least their use!

Keep your eyes peeled for some fabulous ways to use your Reverse Confetti stamps!

. . . . .

Today on Confetti Camera we have the one and only (my bestie), SUSAN LILES

SusanIntroPic

. . . . .

Hey ‘Fetti Fans!  Are y’all ready to see something fun you can do to make your dies work a little harder for you?  I love finding new ways to use them.

This time, I’ve taken the rounded tag from the new TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts and made a sweet little party favor treat holder.

20140917_164156_resized

Here’s what I put together to get started.  The sentiment is from the new IN A BIG WAY stamp set and the frame is stamped and cut from the GIVE THANKS stamp set and cut with the GIVE THANKS LABEL Confetti Cuts die.

20140917_163405_resized(1)

Once I cut 2 of the tags, I scored them at the bottom about a 1/2″ up.  Then placed them on top of one another and glued the circle down to the top of one of them.  Then with my paper piercer, poked a hole through all 3 thicknesses.  I also *very carefully* poked a hole through the center of the cardstock bow.  This will be where a brad will go to hold everything in place.

20140917_163107_resized

20140917_163502_resized

Decorate the front of the tag with the circle on it.  I also added a strip of the stars from the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set.  Fold the bottom of the tags along the score lines, and adhere them together right there.  Fold both sides up.  Put the brad through the bow and both tags and secure.

20140917_164628_resized

These are perfect little treat holders for a “fun size” pack of M & M’s!  A little secret:  If y’all are local, stop by The Little Blue House this Saturday from 10-2.  I’ll be hosting a make-n-take, and you can make one of your very own!

To celebrate the new release, the Confetti Crew has put together a fabulous hop with a ton of “Confetti Creativity” using the new stamps and Confetti Cuts dies.

My first project for you today features the new TREAT TOTE Confetti Cuts die set…

TreatTote1

Tutorial for how to assemble both of our new totes can be found HERE (video) and HERE (picture tutorial).

To create this TREAT TOTE, I used black and white patterned paper as I really wanted the colors on the “TREATS” panel to pop.  I cut 2 “TREATS” sentiments out…one in orange and one in white and layered them, slightly offset.  The circle reinforcer at the top of the bag is from the new TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts die set.

Detail shot…

TreatTote1detail

. . . . .

My second project today features a fun mix of new and previously released Reverse Confetti products…

GotCandy1

I saw these cute bags at Michaels and immediately knew what I wanted to do with them!

First things first…fill them with candy.  I put 2 mini Hershey bars in the bags.

Second…make them cute!

To do that, I cut the rounded top tag from the new TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts die (I love when I get to use these dies in fun and different ways) and then made a score mark 1 inch in from the straight end (opposite the rounded end).  This is where the tag is folded over the bag.  I wanted a little more detail, so before I attached them to the bag I used the perforation line from the OFFICE EDGES Confetti Cuts to add the perforation/dashed line.  To attach the tag to the bag, I simply used a small stapler.

On the bottom/round portion of the tag, I added patterned paper and then layered my embellishments.  The Kraft panel is cut from the new GIVE THANKS LABEL Confetti Cuts and then stamped with the large dots from WHOLE LOTTA DOTS.  I created the spider with circles from the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set, a small circle punch, enamel dots and strips of black cardstock.  The orange panel is cut from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set and is stamped with a sentiment from SPOOKY SENTIMENTS.

I’ll be giving these out to my kiddos’ teachers for Halloween.

There is so much more “Confetti Creativity” to see today!
