TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

What a fun week it has been here in the del Muro house!  The kids had VBS all week, which I have to admit was awesome for me.  I had a few extra hours a day to prep for the upcoming release.  I’m doing a lot of prep ahead of time because we are having a family fun week next week.  It’s time to turn of the computers, phones, etc. and focus on what is most important in everyone’s life: family.

. . . . .

Friday brings the WEEK IN REVERSE where we take a peek back at what the super talented Confetti Crew has been up to!

I love that Laurie combined the anchor from HAPPY HARBOR with the sentiment from HERE WE GO.  The stripes on top (from SO STRIPEY) are great for the theme and the finishing touch of the heart strip (LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts) is perfection!

Sometimes having little color makes for big impact, like shown here on Amy Sheffer’s card using TAG ME Confetti Cuts and the WINNING stamp set…

Heather is the master with PEACOCK PRETTIES!  I love the large feather paired with the sentiment from LOTS TO SAY

Sarah had fun with this month’s color challenge and FREIDA FOX

I love this color combo on Lisa’s card using the WINNING STAMP set paired with the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set…

Here’s another one from Lisa featuring her fun and creative style along with HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO Confetti Cuts and DOIN’ THE WAVE

Reverse Confetti + scrapping + altered art + Amber Hight = WOWZAS

Kathy created this fabulous card using WINNING and OH MY STARS

Leigh cleverly created 2 pattern papers (card base and pattern strip) to create this gorgeous card using PETALS ‘N POSIES and LOTS TO SAY

Happy Hump Day…the weekend is now in sight!  Do you have fun plans?  I’ll be burying myself in the studio in preparation for the JULY 8th release.  Mark you calendars as this release is gonna knock your socks off!

. . . . .

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

Today, I’m focusing on our current color challenge (yes, again…I LOVE IT and you should play along!).

Color challenges are such a great way to kick start your mojo.  Be inspired by the colors and let them lead the (creative) way!

Here’s this month’s color palette once again.  You can click on the pic to go to the post with the link list to upload your project for a chance to win!

A few months ago I got a new camera (thank you Target clearance!) and I’ve been playing around with different photography techniques.  I did some research and took some tips from a few sources to change the look of my photo set up.  I love the results and this might just be one of my favorite cards I have done with Reverse Confetti…

To create this card…

I started with a A2 card base.  For anyone wondering, I do not buy my bases.  Simply, it’s a piece of white cardstock cut in half and then folded.

I then cut a panel 1/4″ smaller on each side.  On this panel I added the large star strips from the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set and sewed across each of them.

Here’s what the back of the panel looked like when I was done sewing and tucking the remaining thread on the back (I didn’t want to just snip off the ends)…

From there,  stamped the sentiment, plane trail and added the plane from HERE WE GO (cut from the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set, HERE WE GO).

Next, I added the stars with rhinestones popped up on dimensional adhesive.

Finally, I rounded the corners of the card base and large panel and adhered the large panel to the card base with dimensional adhesive.

Finally? Wait…”Something’s missing!” I thought.

The kraft strips were a complete afterthought, but I love what they brought to this project.  Something so simple and it was such a great finishing touch!

A shot of the dimension of this card…

Life is an adventure!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

We’ve survived the first day of the first week of summer.  Hey, you gotta start somewhere!  Yesterday was filled with swim lessons, a glitter bottle craft (a la Pinterest), grocery shopping, reading,  laundry, Wii playing and more swimming.  I see feet up and crafting on the list for the rest of the week!  We were actually supposed to go to the beach tomorrow, but seeing as they are having a bit of a shark issue we are going to pass and get right on that feet up and crafting!

It’s Tuesday and TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY!  I had fun creating this scrappy card using HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO Confetti Cuts, ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS, CLASS ACT, CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts and LOVE NOTE and TAG ME Confetti Cuts (remember how I told you I like to mix ‘n match our products?)…

I started with just the 2 strips of pattern paper and the car (stamped and die cut).  From there, I used the notebook paper image to “ground” the car and I used the arrow and “Take Note” sentiment from the ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS along with the sentiment from HERE WE GO.

This is such a fun card using a variety of elements and products along with an awesome color combo.  I’ll definitely being using this combo of lime, aqua, orange and navy again soon!

Summer is just around the corner.  Hard to believe it, since winter seemed to cling on for months on end.  But here come the sunny days filled with smiles, laughter, flip flops and popsicles!  Does anyone else remember getting a “Bomb Pop” from the ice cream man and sitting on the curb while half of it ran down to your elbow?  Ahh…summer memories!  I think some new memories need to be made this summer with the recipe from the pic posted above (Honeydew Cucumber Margarita popsicles…yum!)…and some made of paper and ink, too!

Introducing LET’S CHILL…

(illustrated by Angelica Suarez)

This set features 3 popsicle images, 2 sticks plus a woodgrain detail for the sticks, center lines for the popsicles as well as 4 fun sentiments.  Of course, there is a matching Confetti Cuts die set, too…

For the first card that I made using this set, I stamped the polka dot popsicle and then die cut the popsicle and the center lines (this is a separate die).  I backed it with coordinating orange cardstock.  For the sticks, I stamped the outline image and the woodgrain on kraft cardstock and then attached them to the back of the popsicles.  I love the size of these popsicles…fun for any paper crafting project!

This color palette is so happy, fun and perfect for this set.  I used again (for the most part) on my second card, which also features the DOIN’ THE WAVE Confetti Cuts die that was introduced yesterday…

For this card, I die cut the popsicle from pattern paper and backed it with coordinating cardstock.  I cut the top panel short and added the DOIN’ THE WAVE panel for a fun detail.  The card is also scored and “bound” at the folding end.

Whether your preferred method of travel is by land, sea or air this next set has you covered!

Introducing HERE WE GO…

This darling stamp set features a car, submarine, plane as well as detail images, 5 coordinating sentiments and a matching Confetti Cuts die set, too!

For my first card using HERE WE GO, I went the Clean and Simple (CAS) route…

I started by cutting out pattern paper and cardstock with the DOIN’ THE WAVE Confetti Cuts die and adhering them to a white piece of cardstock.  I then put the rounded rectangle from the (previously released) CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts die set over the waves and cut to get the panel with the water.  The submarine was stamped in yellow and cut out with the submarine Confetti Cuts die and adhered to the “water/waves” with dimensional adhesive.

For added detail, I embossed the bubbles coming from the propeller on the card base…

My second card has a few more layers and added details.  Here I used the plane and propeller images and Confetti Cuts die cuts…

The tab on the left was created with the OFFICE EDGES Confetti Cuts die set.  I also added the heart strip from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set and the large side of DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts.  It’s hard to see in some of the pics, but the propeller and dashed “flight path” are embossed in black.  For added detail on the “flight path,” I also used my C3 Copic to create a little shadow.

Another detail shot…

. . . . .

All of the stamp sets and Confetti Cuts for our May release have now been revealed.  All of these products will be available in the Reverse Confetti store at midnight EST tonight.

The Confetti Crew has a lot more for you to take a peek at.  Don’t forget to leave a comment on each post for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate or THE ENTIRE RELEASE!
