A VERY COOL WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By Jen del Muro
on September 23, 2015

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

We have a SUPER SPECIAL edition of WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS today!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS?…

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  It’s us taking a closer look at how something is created, etc.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

AmySIntroPic

A little while ago, I challenged Confetti Crew member, Amy Sheffer, to think “beyond the popsicle” with the LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts die set.  This girl never fails to amaze me…her daughter even got in on all this crazy creating!  Prepare to let your jaw drop and read until the very end…there might just be a chance to win one of these dies for yourself! *wink*

. . . . .

Hi ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy here today for Wednesday in the Works. I’m all about getting the most bang for your buck and stretching your supplies, so today I’ll be looking at different ways to use Reverse Confetti’s Let’s Chill popsicle dies. As a refresher, the Let’s Chill set includes three dies: the popsicle, the stick, and two rectangular cut-out pieces. Assembled, they make a pretty darn cute popsicle…

letschill-0-popsicle

If you look at the three dies individually, though, there are loads of additional possibilities. I’m excited to show you ten ideas I’ve come up. Ready?

The large garland was made from popsicle die-cuts folded over some baker’s twine.

letschill-1-bannercard

Sentiment is from Posted Note Sentiments.

Confetti Cuts: Let’s Chill, Double Scallop Garland, Circle Garland

The popsicle die makes cute tombstones.

letschill-2-tombstones

Stamps: Spooky Cuties, Spooky Sentiments

Confetti Cuts: Let’s Chill

Also for Halloween, how about some cute ghosts? Big ghosts are from the popsicle die. Baby ghosts are done with the popsicle stick die.

letschill-3-ghosts

Stamps: Spooky Cuties

Confetti Cuts: Let’s Chill, Double Edge Scallop Border

The ghosts got me thinking about PacMan. Wouldn’t this be a fun card for a gamer? Especially a middle-aged gamer who remembers playing PacMan as a kid?

letschill-4-pacman

Stamps: Label Me

Confetti Cuts: Let’s Chill, Circles ‘N Scallops, Label Me, Petals ‘N Posies (the oval ‘white” of the eyes)

Trim down the popsicle piece, give it a cool watercolor look, and adhere twine to the back, and you’ve got a cute jellyfish.

letschill-5-jellyfish

This felt flower would be cute on a hair accessory. I pinched the ends of each felt petal to give the flower some dimension, then topped with a felt circle and a chipboard button.

letschill-6-feltflower

You can even make a perfect heart by layering two popsicle die-cuts at an angle. Cool, huh?

letschill-7-heartcupcaketopper

Stamps: Crushin

Confetti Cuts: Let’s Chill, Fancy Words, Arrow

The two skinny rectangle cut-outs die makes a great buckle. Here’s one in action on a cute Santa tote. I rounded the black belt piece with the popsicle die, too.

letschill-8-santabox

Stamps: Walk By Faith

Confetti Cuts: Treat Tote, Stitched Flag Trio

The buckle works for St. Patrick’s Day, too. My daughter made this leprechaun card. The beard is done by layering orange popsicle die-cuts.

letschill-9-stpatricksday

My favorite! This one uses all three Let’s Chill dies. See if you an spot them!

letschill-10-minion2

Popsicle: body, Stick: boots, Rectangular Cut-Outs: arms, overall straps, black headband.

Confetti Cuts: Let’s Chill, Fancy Word , Thanks Tag, Tag Me (silver glasses)

Thanks for sticking with me! I hope you’re inspired to think out of the box with your die collection, too!

Want to win the LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts die set?  I have 3 up for grabs!  Just leave a comment with which “beyond the popsicle” project is your favorite here by Friday at noon CST.  I’ll pick 3 random winners and post here on Saturday.  Thanks for joining us today and good luck!

. . . . .

The word “ELATED” does not even begin to describe how I felt getting into my craft room this week.  Let’s just say that this week started out with me and Monday getting not agreeing on how things should work (you’ve had one of those days, right?).  Fortunately, the rest of the week has proved to be much better.  And, of course, it’s always better when crafting is involved!

I’ll be sharing all of my creations with you soon.  For today, here’s a cute little treat holder done up in sweet summer style…

TreatHolder

This treat bag is created with the TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts die set and dolled up with the LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts popsicles…

Popsicles

To get the frosty look on these popsicles, I applied Diamond Stickles to the die cut and then added a shimmery glitter (one from my stash with no label – sorry!).  Of course, you use just glue, but I live by the rule that if you can added more sparkle, do it!

Popsicles1

The word “TREATS” is cut from our TREAT TOTE Confetti Cuts die set.  I layered the pink cardstock with aqua to offset the word for a little added dimension.  I’m kinda loving doing that right now, so consider yourself warned *wink.*

Treats1

For a finishing touch, I added sequins with a little white enamel flatback in the center…

One last look at the project…

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between. Today, Confetti Crew member, Sarah Gough, shows you how to create a fun summer inspired project.  You are going to love the video she has come up with for you!

The weather is cooling down here in New Zealand, so it’s a good time for some summer escapism with the fab LET’S CHILL stamp set and LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts. I’ll show you how I make an icy popsicle…and let you in on the silly name we have for these summer treats downunder! I’m also making a fun messy background that features the Color Me Happy Stamp Set.

ANNOUNCING…

By admin
on June 30, 2014

Hello and Happy Monday, ‘Fetti Fans!

I’m still shaking my head that today is Monday and that tomorrow is the first!

I have some super special (and FUN!) announcements to make today.

First, I would like to introduce the newest member of the Challenge Crew, Jessica Fick

JessicaFickIntro

A little about our newest team member…

I’m so honored to be joining the Reverse Confetti Crew Challenge team!  I love all things paper crafting related: stamps, dies, scrap booking, patterned papers, twines, ribbons, markers, etc… the list could go on and on!  I’m not sure if I have a favorite crafty style but rather enjoy dabbling in everything just a bit to keep the creative juices flowing.  I’ve been privileged to be part of some amazing design teams over the past 5+ years that I’ve been stamping. I love getting to know our online paper crafting community and collecting items for my crafty stash along the way!

My husband Brad (of 18 years) is my biggest supporter and encourager.  We have two great kids, Isaiah and Ashley, who are a true delight and joy to our family.  I teach K4-1st grade in a small private Christian school during the day and get as much crafty time as I can during my limited free time.

. . . . .

In addition to that super awesome announcement, I also would like to announce the winner of the June Color Challenge.  But first, let me thank everyone that played along.  What wonderful entries there were, as always!

Congrats to…

ColorWinner

Here is her fabulous, fun and colorful card using SO STRIPEY, DOIN’ THE WAVE Confetti Cuts (will be back in stock soon) and the LET’S CHILL stamp set with the coordinating LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts…
