CONFETTI CAMERA

By Jen del Muro
on February 19, 2015

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!

Time for another great CONFETTI CAMERA today!

ConfettiCameraRCblog

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from cards completed inside and out from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same “theme” until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

Today on Confetti Camera is the so very talented and sweet, AMY KOLLING

AmyKIntroPic

. . . . .

Hello Fetti’ Friends!  Amy Kolling here bringing you this week’s Confetti Camera which is all about “inside and out”.  I’ve used one of my favorite dies……the TRIPLE CHEVIES Confetti Cuts die to make a love masculine card.  This die is perfect to add that graphic feel for a guy card.  I’ve used the die to cut out 3 colors of cardstock including gold.  I’ve lined these up on the front of a panel of clear cardstock to make it something different!  I simply scored a piece of clear cardstock at 5.5″, folded, and trimmed off the extra.  This “fold” is what I sandwiched between 2 pieces of white cardstock to make things look polished.  My sentiment (from LOTS TO SAY) was stamped on a white Chevie die cut in black ink and was added to the front with foam adhesive.  I added one little red heart (from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set)…..

Confetti Camera Outside

For my inside, I carried over the same colors and used another sentiment from LOTS TO SAY along with a row of diecut hearts from LOVE NOTE.  Since the front of my card is clear except for the Chevies die cuts, I spaced my sentiment where it wouldn’t show until you open the card.  To finish off the inside, I didn’t want the adhesive from the front panel Chevies to show when you opened the card so I cut several white Chevies and layered them on the back of the front panel.

Confetti Camera Inside

I must admit…  I don’t ever finish the insides of my cards.  But thinking one step further and giving the inside just a bit of attention really makes for a full finished card.

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By Jen del Muro
on February 18, 2015

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

Welcome to this week’s edition of WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS?

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.  Today, Confetti Crew member Sarah Gough has a great video to share with you about how to make a darling gift wrap card.

. . . . .

SarahIntroPic

For Wednesday in the Works today, I turned to that little workhorse of a die set, the Office Edges Confetti Cuts! I’ve used a tab from the Office Edges to create a little pocket, turning your card into the perfect giftwrap for a little piece of jewelry, giftcard or cash. My card features a magnetic closure, but you can also use ribbon and I’ll show you both options.

CONFETTI CREATIVE HOP

By Jen del Muro
on February 08, 2015

BlogHop

. . . . .

((Fair warning…this is kind of a long post.  Grab that cuppa, sit back and enjoy this post and the entire hop))

Hello ‘Fetti Fans and welcome to the February Confetti Creative Hop!

It’s the 8th of the month and, as you know, we hop on the 8th of every month.  Since this month is  a non-release month, we “just” have some fabulous Confetti Creativity to share with you.  We know that you love to see Anything But a Card projects and that is what we have for you today!  There’s a Valentine’s theme to all our projects, but these really can be used throughout the year with a tweak of a sentiment or color scheme.

You’re at the first stop along the hop.  In case of a break or if you detour, there is a full list of Confetti Crew members and ‘Fetti Friends hopping today later in this post.

***Be sure to leave a comment at each stop along the way for a chance to win!  Comments are open until Thursday at noon CST and a winner will be announced on the WEEK IN REVERSE post on Friday.***

. . . . .

If you are newsletter subscriber (link on sidebar) you already know why this is an “extra sweet” hop…

SaleGraphic

I had a Valentine’s sale planned for next weekend, but I figured today is as good a day as any to tell you that WE LOVE YOU with a 3-day sale.  We really do love all our ‘Fetti Fans!  Be sure you share your Reverse Confetti creations with us!

The coupon code is valid February 8, 9 and 10 on new retail orders placed through the Reverse Confetti site.  The coupon code must be entered at the time order is placed.  No refunds or adjustments will be made.  Limited to in stock items.  No rainchecks.

. . . . .

I was recently sketching out a die design for a box when I had a little bit of a “lightbulb moment.”  The shapes that I was working with were are part of our TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts die set.  I ran up to my studio to see if what was in my head would work.  It is my pleasure to say, “YES…it worked”  Don’t you love when that happens!?!

Here’s the finished box I created using the TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts die set…

(tutorial follows)

ABCVal15

Totally cute.  Totally easy.

Here’s the how to:

1. Cut 4 of the rounded top tag from the TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts die set and 1 square measuring 2 9/16″.

ABCVal_pieces

2. Score all 4 of the rounded top tags at 1″ from the straight edge.

AMCVal_1inch

3. Score 2 of the rounded top tags at 1/4″ from the rounded edge.

ABCVal_topscore

4. Layer the 2 rounded top tags that you scored in step #3 and punch 2 holes side by side.

ABCVal_punch

5. Attach 2 panels to the bottom of your square.  The 2 with the holes punched at the top must be opposite each other.

AMCVal_Glue2

6. Attach the other 2 panels to bottom of square.

AMCVal_Glue4

(optional) 7. Cut another 2 9/16″ square, stamp/embellish and add to inside center.

I stamped the “It’s ‘o-fish-al’…” sentiment from SUGARY SWEET SENTIMENTS and my daughter’s name with LIGHTHEARTED LETTERS.  The heart is cut from red cardstock with the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set.

ABCVal_InsideStamped

8. Add treats.  I used Swedish Fish to coordinate with the sentiment.

ABCVal_InsideStamped2

9. Overlap 2 panels without holes punched and adhere together. (no pic)

10. Pull hole punched panels together and close off with ribbon.

ABCVal15_1

Top view…

ABCVal15_top

I am so pleased with how this turned out and how quickly it came together.  I know I’ll be making a few more of these and giving them out as little gifties for friends, family, teachers and neighbors.  I can already see pastel colors and jelly beans as  little tweaks to make these more spring/Easter themed.

. . . . .

This is just stop #1 on this incredible hop!  Check out what the Confetti Crew and ‘Fetti Friends have come up with…

Hello and TGIF, ‘Fetti Fans!

I am definitely looking forward to this weekend!  The weather is supposed to be beautiful and I am excited to spend some quality time outside with the littles and my hubby.  I think I’ve convinced them to help me wash/clean out my car.  We’ll see if they are anywhere to be found when it comes time for that, though!

It’s a super special weekend at Reverse Confetti, too!  Sunday is our (monthly) blog hop and I promise you do not want to miss it!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on February 04, 2015

Howdy ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Hump Day!

We have a very special WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS to share with you today.

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.  Today, Confetti Crew member Amy Sheffer has a super clever way to “sprinkle” some fun into your cards and projects!

. . . . .

AmySIntroPic

Hello ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy here today, with two fun ways to use your DONUT YOU KNOW Confetti Cuts sprinkles: in a shaker and to spell out letters!

I started by cutting three scalloped rectangles from LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts for the shaker: red card stock for the top layer, acetate for the window layer, and a piece of designer paper for the background layer. On the top layer, I cut out a rectangular opening using the rounded rectangle from CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts. I used foam adhesive to sandwich my shaker layers together and filled the shaker with lots and lots of DONUT YOU KNOW Confetti Cuts sprinkles in rainbow colors.

 RC_sprinkles_aks

For the sentiment (from DONUT YOU KNOW), I stamped in black ink on white card stock, then adhered more of those die-cut sprinkles on the sentiment panel, so it looks like the word “sprinkled” was spelled out of sprinkles. I won’t pretend this isn’t a tiny bit tedious, but I like doing stuff like this, and I think the end result is so worth it! What worked for me as adhesive was to squirt out a drop of matte multi-medium, then pick up each sprinkle using a pick-up tool, touch it lightly to the multi-medium, and then place it on the sentiment.

 RC_sprinkles_detail3_aks

I die-cut the sentiment panel first with the rounded rectangle from the CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts die set, so that it would fit within the shaker frame, then cut the bottom notch using TAG ME Confetti Cuts.

 RC_sprinkles_detail2_aks

I kept the background fairly simple to keep the focus on the sentiment shaker: two colors of twine, a white dry embossed background panel, plus some vellum and a tiny strip of designer paper. The embossed stars are coated with a clear Wink of Stella pen for some extra sparkle.

 RC_sprinkles_detail1_aks

Birthday or not, I hope your day is sprinkled with lots of fun!

FEBRUARY SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY

By admin
on February 01, 2015

Howdy ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Sunday!

Yes, I’m blogging on a Sunday.  That means that something fun and exciting is happening over here!  It’s time for a new SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY!

Here’s this month’s sketch…

SFYTT21_Feb15

. . . . .

Here are all the details you need to know…

Before I get to all the wonderful inspiration that the Confetti Crew came up with using this sketch, let’s go over the details…

There will be a new sketch posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 1st of each month.

The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 27th. The SFYTT button is  posted on the sidebar.  Click on it to be taken to the current SFYTT post and link list.

Reverse Confetti stamps and/or Confetti Cuts are required to win.  This is a way we get to thank our customers for using our stamps.  Anyone is welcome to play, though!

You may enter as many times as you wish.

There will be a winner each month and that person will receive a $20 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store and claim the title of ‘Fetti Fave. The winner of SFYTT will be posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 28th of this month.

. . . . .

Here’s my take on the sketch using DONUT YOU KNOW and DONUT YOU KNOW Confetti Cuts on the focal panel…

SFYTT1

In addition to the DONUT YOU KNOW stamps and Confetti Cuts dies, I also used the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die along the left side of the red chevron panel and the flag ended banner from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set on the two flag ended banners hanging from the top.

Detail shot of the card, along with the icing and sprinkles…

SFYTT12

To get the glazed looked on the icing, I used Ranger Enamel Accents and then added glass glitter and sprinkles (cut from the DONUT YOU KNOW Confetti Cuts dies).

SFYTT13

. . . . .

Of course, the Confetti Crew has some wonderful inspiration using this sketch, too!

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on January 27, 2015

Hello and Happy Tuesday, ‘Fetti Fans!

Well, we survived Monday so it’s time for TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY!

I had a lot of fun creating the card that I am sharing today.  Confetti Crew member and friend, Stacey Schafer, introduced me to the Ranger watercolor paper.  I love using this stuff in conjunction with Reverse Confetti goodies to create fun cards (and such)!

crushin

For this card I created a pink ombre watercolor background and then cut it out with the PRETTY PANELS: BIG CHEVRON from our latest release.  I backed it with the rounded rectangle from CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts (made to go together).

On top of the ombre BIG CHEVRON panel, I layered a BEAUTIFUL BANNERS Confetti Cuts die cut (cut from gray stripe paper), an Arrow Confetti Cuts die cut and a sparkly gold heart cut from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set.

crushin1

The patterned paper panels underneath are cut from the DOCUMENTED Confetti Cuts die set from our January release (LOVE this die set!) and stamped with the CRUSHIN’ namesake sentiment.  As a finishing touch, I added a bit of bling with some gold sequins randomly placed.  It’s amazing how long it takes to “randomly” place these lil’ things!

crushin3

This wasn’t the only fun that I had playing with watercolors!  If you follow Reverse Confetti on Instagram, last week you caught a little peek of the base of the card that I’ll be showing tomorrow. (Yea, the one that looked like I was bleeding).  It turned out to be a super cute card (in my humble opinion)!  See you tomorrow with the finished product!
