Hey, hey ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s Wednesday and time for a fun and kind of technique-y WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS.  I know what you’re thinking…two days in a row with techniques(s).  Parenthesis around the “s” because it’s the same technique, but YES!  I am having quite a bit of fun adding texture to my Reverse Confetti projects.  So much so, that I thought that I would share a little “how to.”

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.  And, as I noted above, I am sharing how to add some fun texture to your Reverse Confetti cards and projects…with embossing paste.

So, here it goes…

First, what you are going to need are a stencil, embossing paste and color/shimmer spray (totally optional, but wait ’til you see how cool it looks with the embossing paste).  Of course, the other elements of your card, too.  I am showing you how to use the stencil and paste on a TAG ME, TOO Confetti Cuts die cut…

I cut out one TAG ME, TOO Confetti Cuts die cut and then applied the embossing paste to it using a piece of cardstock (no fancy tools, here).  After I peeled up the stencil and allowed it to dry, this is what it looked like…

I then sprayed the color spray on top of the embossed tag.  I used the amethyst that is shown above and it made gigantic mess because there was a clog in the sprayer (ugh!).  Fortunately, when I buy things I sometimes buy them in just about every color I can get my hands on.  Then it was off to the aqua color color spray, which I actually like a lot better!

I apologize that I don’t have a stop out picture showing just the die cut, embossing pasted, color sprayed tag, but here it is on my completed card…

(pardon the smudgy marks…that was me trying some new settings on the camera).

The main image panel has a sentiment created from the LIGHTHEARTED LETTERS stamp set, along with the “TREATS” die from the TREAT TOTE Confetti Cuts die set.  The debossed circle is part of the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set.

Recognize the sketch?  Yep, it’s this month’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY!  There are still a few more days to play along for a chance to win.  All the details can be found HERE.

And, one more shot of the completed card.  I just love the texture and color pop of the tag behind the main image panel!

Hello, my friends!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  We certainly enjoyed ours here in the del Muro house.  Tony got in some much wanted boys time on the golf course while the kiddos and I hung out at home and took care of prepping for the  upcoming school year and cleaning up the house.  I also managed to get in a project for the next release.  To say that I am excited about our fall release would be a bit of an understatement.  Stay tuned for all the details about the September 8th release…it will be here before we know it!

A couple of inventory notes…

1. Peacock Pretties, I Like You and Whole Lotta Dots are low in stock .

2. Arrows ‘n Elements will be shipping from our manufacturer this week.  I will be updating the Facebook page, as well as sending out a newsletter when we have those back in stock.  I know there are a lot of you waiting on this set; thank you for your patience.

. . . . .

Drumroll, please.

The ‘Fetti Finds from last week’s link list are Penny Ward and Sheri Gilson!

Penny and Sheri, grab your badge!

Penny’s project is so fun and colorful.  I love that she stepped outside the box and created this gorgeous mixed media project with a sentiment from DREAM IN COLOR

Sheri’s card uses lots of fun layers to and sentiments from CELEBRATE CAKE

  • A new link list at the bottom of the ‘Fetti Find post.  It will remain open through Saturday of that week.

<– FIND IT FAST: You’ll be able to find the current ‘Fetti Find post quickly by clicking on the button on the sidebar.

The last day of the month:

  • The ‘FETTI FAVE will be announced here on the Reverse Confetti blog.  This will be one of the ‘Fetti Finds from that month and they will be chosen based on their project and creative use of REVERSE CONFETTI stamps.  The ‘FETTI FAVE will receive the ENTIRE NEXT STAMP RELEASE and be invited to play along with the Confetti Crew for sneak peek days and the new release hop.

Just a couple of rules…

  • Anything goes, as long as Reverse Confetti stamps are the only stamps used OR are the main focal point of the project.
  • No limit to the number of projects linked, but they must be posted to your blog or gallery that same week (no linking older projects).
