TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

What a fun week it has been here in the del Muro house!  The kids had VBS all week, which I have to admit was awesome for me.  I had a few extra hours a day to prep for the upcoming release.  I’m doing a lot of prep ahead of time because we are having a family fun week next week.  It’s time to turn of the computers, phones, etc. and focus on what is most important in everyone’s life: family.

. . . . .

Friday brings the WEEK IN REVERSE where we take a peek back at what the super talented Confetti Crew has been up to!

I love that Laurie combined the anchor from HAPPY HARBOR with the sentiment from HERE WE GO.  The stripes on top (from SO STRIPEY) are great for the theme and the finishing touch of the heart strip (LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts) is perfection!

Sometimes having little color makes for big impact, like shown here on Amy Sheffer’s card using TAG ME Confetti Cuts and the WINNING stamp set…

Heather is the master with PEACOCK PRETTIES!  I love the large feather paired with the sentiment from LOTS TO SAY

Sarah had fun with this month’s color challenge and FREIDA FOX

I love this color combo on Lisa’s card using the WINNING STAMP set paired with the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set…

Here’s another one from Lisa featuring her fun and creative style along with HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO Confetti Cuts and DOIN’ THE WAVE

Reverse Confetti + scrapping + altered art + Amber Hight = WOWZAS

Kathy created this fabulous card using WINNING and OH MY STARS

Leigh cleverly created 2 pattern papers (card base and pattern strip) to create this gorgeous card using PETALS ‘N POSIES and LOTS TO SAY

Happy Hump Day…the weekend is now in sight!  Do you have fun plans?  I’ll be burying myself in the studio in preparation for the JULY 8th release.  Mark you calendars as this release is gonna knock your socks off!

. . . . .

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

Today, I’m focusing on our current color challenge (yes, again…I LOVE IT and you should play along!).

Color challenges are such a great way to kick start your mojo.  Be inspired by the colors and let them lead the (creative) way!

Here’s this month’s color palette once again.  You can click on the pic to go to the post with the link list to upload your project for a chance to win!

A few months ago I got a new camera (thank you Target clearance!) and I’ve been playing around with different photography techniques.  I did some research and took some tips from a few sources to change the look of my photo set up.  I love the results and this might just be one of my favorite cards I have done with Reverse Confetti…

To create this card…

I started with a A2 card base.  For anyone wondering, I do not buy my bases.  Simply, it’s a piece of white cardstock cut in half and then folded.

I then cut a panel 1/4″ smaller on each side.  On this panel I added the large star strips from the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set and sewed across each of them.

Here’s what the back of the panel looked like when I was done sewing and tucking the remaining thread on the back (I didn’t want to just snip off the ends)…

From there,  stamped the sentiment, plane trail and added the plane from HERE WE GO (cut from the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set, HERE WE GO).

Next, I added the stars with rhinestones popped up on dimensional adhesive.

Finally, I rounded the corners of the card base and large panel and adhered the large panel to the card base with dimensional adhesive.

Finally? Wait…”Something’s missing!” I thought.

The kraft strips were a complete afterthought, but I love what they brought to this project.  Something so simple and it was such a great finishing touch!

A shot of the dimension of this card…

Life is an adventure!

Happy Tuesday ‘Fetti Fans!

On Tuesday, I usually have a card for the TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY post, but I’m mixing it up a little and today I have 3 coordinating tags to share with you.

These 3 tags all use this month’s COLOR CHALLENGE that was introduced yesterday.  I hope that you will play along with this fabulous color palette!

Click on image for more details…

Here’s what I came up with using this fun and fresh color combo…

To create these tags, I started with a white tag cut from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set.  I also cut tags from yellow cardstock and used the bottom inch of those on top of the white tag bases.  I also used the yellow on the enforcer ring at the top of the tag.  The banner strip in the center of the tag is cut from aqua cardstock with the banner from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set and then stamped and embossed with the thick stripes from the SO STRIPEY stamp set.  I love the subtle texture that this embossing brings to these tags.  Each of the tags is stamped with the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from LOTS TO SAY and then I embellished each one differently.

The first one has an apple and leaf on it from the CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts die set.  I cut 2 apples and popped one up for added dimension.  (I actually did that on all the tags with their respective die cut embellishments).

This tag has the large heart from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set, along with some red rhinestones…

I saved my favorite for last.  I just love this tag with the stars from OH MY STARS.  When creating these tags, I had 3 people in mind: a teacher (apple), my daughter (heart with bling) and my son who lives and breathes stars, stripes and superheroes (just like this tag)…

Hey there ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Hump Day!

Day 2 of summer vacation in the books and I am exhausted!  Ok, not really…well, kind of.

I have mandated down time so that we can all take a breather.  Meaning, they relax and I craft.   This arrangement is going to work out brilliantly!

. . . . .

Before I get to the heart of the WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS post, I want to announce the winner from our blog hop comments…

Megan, please email info@reverseconfetti.com to claim your prize!

Today, I’m touching on the subject of metallics.  They are hot, hot, hot right now.  While gold is my fave, and what seems to be most accessible, there are lots of other choices…silver, copper and even a variety of colors made into metallics!

Yesterday, my card had several layers and details.  Today, I’m keeping it simple…

There are lots of ways that you can incorporate metallics into your projects.  I chose to use metallics as a simple embellishment here.  I cut the star strip from the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set from gold metallic paper (purchased at Michaels) and added it above and below the sentiment (from WINNING, along with the stars stamped in VersaMark).

Just a few tips…

When using metallics in your projects, keep it simple as they are easily the star of the show.  I’m  not saying only make clean and simple projects with them, just keep in mind that a little can often go a long way.

Pair them with neutrals (white, black, gray, kraft).  Here I used a white card base along with a large gray panel, which helped to make both the colors and the gold “POP.”

Last, and most importantly…have fun with them!  Metallics are a great way to jazz up a project and give it personality.

One of the things I do when designing new products is keep the previously released products in mind. By doing so, I make sure that products are compatible with each other and it’s easy to mix ‘n match them.  I love to mix and match stamps and dies and that is just what I did on this fun and patriotic banner project…

So, how many Reverse Confetti products can you name on this project?  Two? Three??  How about SEVEN! It is so fun to be able to use products over and over and mix ‘n match to create new and unique projects!

LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts (Burlap Base and Large Heart)

TAG ME Confetti Cuts (Large Tag Cut From White Cardstock and Navy Cardstock)

OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts (Strip of Stars on Each Banner, Single Stars)

DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts (Used to Create Scallop Border on Navy Cardstock)

SO STRIPEY Stamp Set (Stripes on Navy Cardstock)
