In addition to SO VERY SPECIAL, I’d also like to introduce you to a new CONFETTI CUTS die set that is sure to stay on your crafting table for a long time…

TAG ME, TOO…

TagMeToo

This is a big tag that is *so much fun* to use!

Here, I combined TAG ME, TOO with the SO VERY SPECIAL set to created a gift set of 4 tags…

Using all of the dies in this Confetti Cuts die set as well as dies from the PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts set, I created this tag…

My final card for today features the new SO VERY SPECIAL set along with the new CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set I introduced yesterday.  The scallop border is cut from the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts (previously released).

These is *a lot* of love put into this next card and I am so happy that I get to give this card to a friend in about a month.

While over the years I have given baby cards to many friends, this one is (so very) extra special.  This card is for my friend, Anne (and her husband).

A few years ago Anne, whom I have known and loved since the 4th grade, was diagnosed with cancer.  I can still see exactly where I was and how I felt when she said the “c word.”  She endured rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and, eventually, a stem cell transplant (from an anonymous donor).  She beat the odds (thank you, God!) and in just a few weeks time, she will be welcoming home a sweet baby boy (via surrogate).  Needless to say, this is a super special delivery!

SpecialDelivery

The bib was created with the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts.

I cut out the smaller of the 2 scallop circles and then used the smallest circle to take out the top portion, creating the bib shape.  I added white linen thread for detail (and cuteness!).  The heart is from the (previously released) LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set.

There is so much more inspiration to see using these stamps and dies that are releasing on July 8th!

Tag Me, Too

Love large tags with fabulous details? So do we! Tag Me, Too is a large tag that can used as a panel on a card or scrapbook page or as the perfect addition to any gift bag/box. This Confetti Cuts die set contains a large tag with scallop edge, scallop circle to reinforce the tag hole and add detail and the words “for” and “you” making this set very versatile and fun!

Set of 4 wafer thin dies

NOTE: This Confetti Cuts set does not contain wire connectors; however, many of our die sets are connected by thin wire and may need to be released from each other. To do so, tin snips are best, but these can often easily be taken apart by a gentle hand. Rough edges where the dies were attached may be sanded lightly (careful not to sand the cutting edge).

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on June 24, 2014

Hey, hey ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY and I have a super summer inspired card to share with you today…

DreamInColorFlowers

When I think of summer, I think of COLOR and what better sentiment to use (from DREAM IN COLOR) with a rainbow of blooms from PETALS ‘N POSIES.

To create this card, I took a strip of paper and stamped the various flowers in red, pink, orange, green and aqua.  I then added the flower centers and purple flowers/berries.  Once I had it all put together I thought that it was in need of a little dimension, so I stamped the large blooms again and cut them out using the coordinating PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts die and popped them up using dimensional adhesive.

WEEK IN REVERSE

By admin
on June 20, 2014

TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

What a fun week it has been here in the del Muro house!  The kids had VBS all week, which I have to admit was awesome for me.  I had a few extra hours a day to prep for the upcoming release.  I’m doing a lot of prep ahead of time because we are having a family fun week next week.  It’s time to turn of the computers, phones, etc. and focus on what is most important in everyone’s life: family.

. . . . .

Friday brings the WEEK IN REVERSE where we take a peek back at what the super talented Confetti Crew has been up to!

I love that Laurie combined the anchor from HAPPY HARBOR with the sentiment from HERE WE GO.  The stripes on top (from SO STRIPEY) are great for the theme and the finishing touch of the heart strip (LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts) is perfection!

Sometimes having little color makes for big impact, like shown here on Amy Sheffer’s card using TAG ME Confetti Cuts and the WINNING stamp set…

Heather is the master with PEACOCK PRETTIES!  I love the large feather paired with the sentiment from LOTS TO SAY

Sarah had fun with this month’s color challenge and FREIDA FOX

I love this color combo on Lisa’s card using the WINNING STAMP set paired with the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set…

Here’s another one from Lisa featuring her fun and creative style along with HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO Confetti Cuts and DOIN’ THE WAVE

CONFETTI CAMERA

By admin
on June 19, 2014

It’s Thursday ‘Fetti Fans and it’s time for another fun installment of Confetti Camera!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions/show a tip until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

3) For this round we are focusing on how Reverse Confetti stamp sets are compatible with each other and each of the Confetti Crew members is picking two of their favorites to pair together on their project.

. . . . .

Today on Confetti Camera, the spotlight is on fun, friendly and super talented AMY KOLLING

AmyKIntroPic

Her Confetti Camera project…

6.19.14

I wanted to focus on the newest Color Challenge (link on sidebar) and the large booms from PETALS ‘N POSIES……my favorite RC set.  I decided to mask off my blooms while stamping.  What made this easy was to cut the coordinating Confetti Cuts with typing paper and use that.  I didn’t have to stamp and cut my mask because the dies are a pretty good match.  They are a bit larger than the stamps but it worked well!!  My sentiment was pieced together using 2 stamps from YOU MAKE ME SMILE……..I like how Jen included the large word “SMILE” and then many supporting words or phrases to compliment making it a breeze to stamp in multiple colors.

6.19.14#2

Now to focus on that scallop border down the left side.  The DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts is a brilliant die…..2 in one!!!  Because this die will cut a full length A2 size scallop, I needed to trim it down for my design but wanted it to look “finished”.  I die cut the scallop border and then placed it back into the die but at a shorter length and ran it through my machine cutting off the extra.  This makes a “finished” look to the other end of the scallop!

Tip:  Remember to use those dies in your stash for masks!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on May 28, 2014

Hey ‘Fetti Fans!  Happy Wednesday and welcome to WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS here on the Reverse Confetti blog!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

So, I’ve been noticing a trend lately.  Not a new product or something that is considered on trend, but a trend no less.  I mentioned in passing yesterday “everything old is new again.”  I’ve been noticing that many of the techniques and such that were “new must do” things when I was introduced into stamping nearly 10 years ago are popping up again.  None of these things ever went away, I just saw less and less of them as time went on.  Are you wondering what I speak of?  To name just a few…shaker cards (like I shared yesterday), waterfall cards, explosion boxes and one sheet wonders (a.k.a. OSW).  The latter is what I am focusing on today…the ONE SHEET WONDER.

What exactly is a ONE SHEET WONDER?  It’s where you take just one sheet of pattern paper to create several cards or projects.

Honestly, this final project isn’t too much of a “wonder,” as I used the same design in…dare I say…mass production.  However, there are several ways to cut your paper to get a variety of different card layouts, etc.

Ahhh, yes, I said those 2 words that many stampers/card makers loathe (myself included)…MASS PRODUCTION.  It’s kind of hard not to do a little mass production with a OSW and I will provide a few tips on MP near the end of this post.  First, let me share my ONE SHEET…

OSW_sheet

You can use (pre-made) pattern paper for your OSW projects, but I decided to make my own pattern paper using the PETALS ‘N POSIES stamp set and a variety of ink colors.  I love how vibrant and fun this paper turned out!  The bonus of making your own is that it will be perfectly unique and you can also do it to coordinate with other projects, themes, school colors, etc.

Since the paper is so fun and colorful, I decided to go with a very simple layout…

OSW_set

I was able to create ten (4.25″ square) unique cards using 4.25″ x 2″ strips of the pattern paper I created.  I added the wide scalloped edge from the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts and added the sentiment from LOTS TO SAY.  After I had done those few things, I sat back and looked at it thinking that it just needed a little “something” else.  I did not want to add any embellishments such as sequins or twine.  I kept it simple and rounded the corners on one side of the card to complement the scalloped edge and then I added the cardstock strip where the scallop border and pattern paper met.  Two easy peasy things that really made a difference!

OSW1

OSW2

Now all I have to do is grab some envelopes and wrap them up for a perfect teacher or hostess gift.

As I mentioned above, I have some mass production tips to share.

1. Keep It Simple/Clean and Simple

This will save you time and frustration, trust me.  That means minimize or eliminate embellishments and layers.

2. Make a Sample/Prototype FIRST

This may seem like a waste of time to some, but I truly believe in this.  Why?  Well, for starters, things don’t always look the same on paper as they do in your head.  Second, this will help ensure that you have the right dimensions, etc.  The last thing that you want to do is cut everything out and realize that you are off my 1/4″ and have to start over.  Finally, it gives you something to follow.  Think of it as your mass production road map.

3. Assembly Line

You want to end up with an assembly line, so get everything prepared before you dive into creating.  Here is the process I took to make this card (after I had a sample created).

Cut all of the:

4.25″ x 2″ pattern paper strips

Double Edge Scallop Border Confetti Cuts (and trim them down)  TIP: to get the scallops even and 4.25″ in length, cut it down to 4.5″ and then flip it and cut it down to 4.25″

4.25″ x .25″ cardstock strips (these are the ones that are adhered where the pattern paper and scallop border meet)

Card bases (these were cut from an 8.5″ x 11″ piece of cardstock down to 8.5″ square, scored at 4.25″ in one direction, turned and cut at 4.25″ in the other direction creating 2 card bases from one sheet of cardstock).

. . .

From there I stamped all of the card bases with the “thanks so very much” sentiment in black ink.

Then, I attached the scalloped borders to the pieces of pattern paper I created and attached that to the card bases

Next, I rounded the right side corners of the card.

The 4.25″ x .25″ cardstock strip was added last.

3) For this round we are focusing on how Reverse Confetti stamp sets are compatible with each other and each of the Confetti Crew members is picking two of their favorites to pair together on their project.

Today on Confetti Camera, the spotlight points down under to the fabulously talented and super sweet, SARAH GOUGH

SarahIntroPic

Hi ‘Fetti fans! Today I’m pairing one of my favorite Reverse Confetti sets, PAPER CRANE, with the newly released LABEL ME. I thought the angles in these sets would be complimentary, and I worked  diagonals into my overall design.

confetticameraSarahGoughMay (1)

Label Me contains gorgeous sentiments, but also works so well with tons of other Reverse Confetti sentiments. I’ve used the matching Confetti Cuts for a perfect border. The crane was stamped with gold ink on a very light vellum, and fussy cut to peek out from behind the label.

I’ve gone with a simple layout, but continued the angled theme by trimming the ends of the vertical paper pieces with my trimmer, and by stamping the outline arrows from Paper Crane in opposing corners.

 confetticameraSarahGoughMay (2)

I finished off with some gold sequins for even more shine, and to help draw the eye into the center of the card.
