Hey, hey ‘Fetti Fans!

Lots has been happening behind the scenes here.   I’m prepping for…

  1. The August release…LOTS of crafty happiness coming your way on August 8th (Countdown to Confetti starts on August 5th, as always).
  2. THE MOVE.  As you know we taking RC out of our home and into a new warehouse space.  Pics below.
  3. The Pinners Conference in September
  4. The Card Making Retreat at Whitworth Ranch Retreat in October

I figured I should probably share pics of how the new warehouse and classroom are coming along, so I went over there to take a couple of pics.  I can’t say that it’s real exciting, but it’s coming along.  I can’t wait to get in there and dress it up a little!

We are close to a complete bathroom now.  I told you that it wasn’t anything real exciting, but that’s what there was to take a pic of…

Drop ceiling is now installed in the classroom area.  I’m waiting on carpet installation and then we will be painting the walls and getting it ready to host classes, workshops, etc.

One of the things that I bought to dress up the walls are these cute “frames” from Michaels.  I plan to hang RC card fronts from these.

Well, that’s all I have for now.  As things come along a little more, I’ll be posting here or over on Instagram or Facebook.

Hello and Happy Wednesday ‘Fetti Fans!

Today, I have a very special WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS post for you!  Instead of showing you a project or 2, I am taking you on a tour of my creative space and office.  I’ve promised these pics for awhile now, and I finally have the space all set up…YAY!

So, here we go…

I got this sign from a friend and I jokingly wrote “The Boss” on it.  No one has changed it, so I guess they are in agreement…

Looking in from that door, this is what you see…

The upper left of this pic shows the Confetti Cuts die storage and shipping area.

The upper right corner is my creative space where I create.  You can see all my papers and ribbons on the shelves.  Don’t pay too much attention to the bin of scraps there on the floor!

The other desk, on the lower right of the above pic is my office/work space.  Here’s a pic of the 2 desks taken from the other side of the room.

Above my work desk is a shelf with flowers in the Reverse Confetti Colors, a stuffed flamingo and metal RC letters.

Here’s another shot of the Confetti Cuts die and shipping areas.  This shot also shows some of our stamps on the pegboards in the room.  The door you see is to a closet housing A LOT of stuff!  No pics of that area, as it is a bit crazy in there!

The table in the center expands so that I can host crafty friends or use it for additional shipping or creative space when needed.

That’s all folks!  I hope you have enjoyed this tour and I look forward to sharing my most recent creations made in here very soon!  Don’t forget, sneak peeks start Friday!

Hey there, ‘Fetti Fans!

Well, normally on Wednesdays I post WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS and Thursdays I post the CONFETTI CAMERA post.  Apparently, I am a *little* mixed up on my days and posted the CONFETTI CAMERA post yesterday.  So, if you are here to check out the CONFETTI CAMERA post, just scroll down.  If you want to empathize with me (or laugh at me) on not knowing what day it, just leave a comment here!

Just one of the reasons I don’t know what day it is…

I know it seems far away, but it will be here before you know it!  We’re busy lil’ bees getting everything ready for you to fall in love with (yep, it’s our Valentine’s release).

I’ll be back tomorrow with the WEEK IN REVERSE post.

If it seems like Reverse Confetti posts are few and far between next week, it’s because I’ve ask my designers to take next week off to celebrate the Christmas holiday with their loved ones and I will be doing the same.  Happy Holidays!

Countdown to Confetti: DAY ONE

By admin
on May 01, 2013

Hello, and welcome to the REVERSE CONFETTI blog!  This day has been a long time coming and I am filled with both excitement and pride as I write this. I’d first like to share a little bit about me, Jen del Muro, and how Reverse Confetti came to be…

I can’t pinpoint an exact time that I became a paper crafter (and fanatic), but I am pretty sure that it was sometime during my toddler years.   As a child, I loved coloring, creating and embellishing.   The love of all things paper followed me through every stage of my life. I tried to get into scrapbooking, but after making one I realized that I was a little more “instant gratification” than that.  Of course, those were the days before being able to scrap within the confines of pocket pages.

And then there was the day that I was introduced to stamping.

It was Halloween of 2004 and one of the little boys trick-or-treating in our neighborhood was also giving out treats as he was collecting them in his plastic jack-o-lantern.  He handed me one of his very cute, stamped acetate bags filled with caramels and a darling coordinating bag topper — I was hooked right then and there.  I asked him who made it and he quietly said, “My mommy.”  He was out with Daddy that night, but I soon learned they lived just a few houses down and that his mommy actually sold all the stuff to make cute projects like the one in my hand.  A few days later I walked down to their house and was formally introduced to the world of stamping.  My husband, Tony, would later jokingly refer to our neighbor as “my dealer.”

Fast forward through years of catalog purchases and design work for many wonderful companies to one day last year when I was sitting in my studio and had the idea of starting a paper company.  Yes, you read that correctly…a PAPER company.  After a little bit of research and a whole lot of soul searching I realized that stamps were closer to my heart and a better choice for a business.  So, I did something that I swore I would never do… I started a stamp company!  I had, however, already thought of the name REVERSE CONFETTI and decided to keep it as I moved forward with business plans.

Those business plans included working with Tony to create a company that offers high quality, on trend photopolymer stamps and has top notch customer service.  Together, and sometimes with some outside help, we spent countless hours talking logistics, building the website and crunching numbers.  He’s the analytical one.  I’m the creative one.  As you can probably imagine, we did not see eye to eye on some things.  (Good thing we know how to meet in the middle).

One evening, he was sitting on the couch with his laptop and creating a multi-page Excel file that came complete with color coordinated pie charts and various other graphs.  As he walked me through each page… and it’s coordinating charts my eyes slowing glazed over as I nodded and “Mmm-Hmm’ed” to each point. Then he turns to me and asks, “What do you think my title should be?”  I chuckled, looked him straight in the eye and said, “Chief Party Pooper.” So far it has stuck!

Truth be told, he is my biggest cheerleader and has been since that day I discovered stamping.  He would tell me my projects were lovely when really it looked like the cat made it.  He helped me shop for storage as my ability to procure stamps, paper and embellishments was perfected.  He helped me shop for even more as I outgrew of the storage we had bought just a few months prior.  He even came home one day and told me about conversation he had with a friend.  Tony and his friend talked about various investments and Tony told him that, if given the chance, he would invest in my creativity (this was long after those projects that looked like the cat made them).  I am thankful for this.  So very thankful.

Don’t tell him yet, but I think we’re going to need more storage!

And now, here we are today…Day 1

Day 1 on the Reverse Confetti blog.

Day 1 on this crazy adventure that I now call life.

As exciting as Day 1 is for me, it’s what’s ahead that I am looking forward to most.
