TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on December 09, 2014

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s time for a special TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY!  You may recall, over the summer Confetti Crew member, Heather, made this card…

I just adore this clever card!  So much so that I asked if she would be willing to make a Christmas/wreath card using the same concept to showcase the versatility of this Confetti Cuts die set.  Well she did, and I am so excited that Heather is here sharing it with you today!

. . . . .

HeatherIntroPic

Hi, everyone! Heather P. here with a festive take on a card I created using  Fresh ‘n Fruity Confetti Cuts.  A few months ago, I created the card above using the lemon and orange dies to create a flower, and paired it with one of the lovely sentiments from Fabulous Flamingo.  I love using dies in unexpected ways, it’s a great way to stretch your stash!

 120914

To create my wreath, I used the following Confetti Cuts dies:

Fresh ‘n Fruity

Donut You Know

Circles ‘n Scallops

Branch Out

Tagged Tote

Here’s how:  I started with a piece of light green card stock, and layered together the circle die from the  Donut You Know Confetti Cuts with the largest circle die from the Circles ‘n Scallops Confetti Cuts.  Once run through my machine, this game me a thin, hollow circle to use a guide for my leaf placement.  I die cut 10 green lemons using the Fresh ‘n Fruity Confetti Cuts, and adhered 5 of them (evenly spaced) to the top of the hollow circle.

120914b

I then used my bone folder to score a line down the center of the remaining die cuts, and adhered them to the hollow circle (using pop dots) between the first set of die cuts.  So easy!

120914c

Next, I used the Triple Chevies Confetti Cuts to die cut some vellum, and adhered the strips to a medium gray card base.  I then stamped one of the sentiments from Seasonal Sentiments in Versamark ink onto a piece of aqua card stock before heat embossing with white powder.  I then adhered the sentiment to the card base with pop dots.

Once I figured out how much of the wreath I wanted to display on my card, I used my guillotine paper trimmer to cut off the excess.  I then adhered the wreath to the card front with pop dots.  To decorate the wreath, I used the bare tree from the Branch Out Confetti Cuts on silver glitter paper, and secured them to the petals leaves with Tombo multi-glue.  I die cut a pink bow from the Tagged Tote Confetti Cuts, adhered it to the wreath with pop dots, and covered it with Stickles.  To finish up, I embellished with white enamel dots.

CONFETTI CREATIVE HOP

By admin
on December 08, 2014

Hello and Happy Monday!

It’s the 8th of the month and, as you know, we hop on the 8th of every month.  Since this month is  a non-release month, we “just” have some fabulous Confetti Creativity to share with you.  With the holidays knocking at our front door, we thought it would be perfect to showcase Reverse Confetti products in a hop that features them as part of PRETTY PACKAGING!

You’re at the first stop along the hop.  In case of a break or if you detour, there is a full list of Confetti Crew members and ‘Fetti Friends hopping today later in this post.

Be sure to leave a comment at each stop along the way for a chance to win!  Comments are open until Wednesday at midnight CST and a winner will be announced on the WEEK IN REVERSE post on Friday.

. . . . .

Let’s get this party started!

Awhile back, I bought a bunch of flat kraft sacks with the intention of filling them with card sets, cookies or embellishments (yes, my mind is all over the place like that!).  I love having these in my stash and they made the perfect base for my project today.  They’re plain, so it’s a great place to start and put your personal touch!

For this project, I layered a doily, a red TAG ME Confetti Cuts die cuts along with a panels cut from the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set…

PrettyPackaging1

The sentiment is from the SEASONAL SENTIMENTS stamp set and I embellished it with leaves (PETALS ‘N POSIES) and a heart (LOVE NOTE).  Of course, since I love a little bling on each of my projects, I added some sequins and rhinestones.

PrettyPackaging3

The top of the red tag is topped with chevron ribbon (Hobby Lobby, I think) and linen thread which I left long and let dangle.

PrettyPackaging2

Although there are a few layers on this project, it really came together quite quickly and could easily be mass produced if needed/wanted.  I’m not one for mass producing, but when I am giving to a certain group of people (like teachers or neighbors) I like everything to be similar.  It keeps me from having to reinvent the wheel each time and it keeps everything equal.

. . . . .

I don’t want to keep you here to long, as there is so much more to see on this hop!

CONFETTI CAMERA

Howdy ‘Fetti Fans!

Wow, this week is just flying by!  I can’ believe it’s already Thursday!  Being that it is Thursday, it’s time for CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from cards completed inside and out from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same “theme” until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

On camera today is the ever so talented, AMBER HIGHT

AmberIntroPic

Hi there ‘Fetti Fans! Today is my turn to play in this round of Confetti Camera and this month we’re completing the inside of the card as well as the outside! I don’t know about you, but I hardly ever do the inside until I’m ready to send a card out, but it’s nice to have the insides done already so you can just sign your card and send it off! Another funny thing, I always show my husband my finished cards and the first thing he does is flip to the inside and go “but it’s not finished?!” He doesn’t even look at the outside before looking for whats on the inside, so funny! So what a surprise it will be when I show him this card!

For my card I pulled out the SEASONAL SENTIMENTS stamp set, WHOLE LOTTA DOTS stamp set, the LET IT SNOW Confetti Cuts, DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts, and TAG ME Confetti Cuts.

GoldDots1a

I embossed the large dots stamp from WHOLE LOTTA DOTS in gold embossing powder on a piece of vellum. That’s one of my favorite combos/techniques this holiday season, gold and vellum, *happy sigh*.  I cut a few snowflakes out of white card stock and added them to the card as well some clear sequins and gold cord.

GoldDots1b

On the inside, I cut out the largest of the tags from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set out of vellum and then embossed another sentiment from SEASONAL SENTIMENTS in white. I threaded some cord through the top of the tag and then added the snowflake and rhinestones. Now the card is all ready for my signature and off she goes!

WEEK IN REVERSE

By admin
on November 21, 2014

Happy Friday, ‘Fetti Fans!

TGIF…really!  I thought it was Thursday on Wednesday, so imagine my surprise (and slight disappointment) when I came to realize that I was a day ahead of myself!  I even got on my daughter’s case for not having her weekly homework done for Friday.  Oops!  No wonder she was looking at me like I had two heads.  I’m going to go ahead and say that this is probably not the first or last time that she will think that I am crazy (or that I will make a parenting mistake, for that matter).

It’s hard to believe that just a week from now Thanksgiving will be over and the mad rush to Christmas will have begun (I’m guessing it already has for some).   For those that are traveling, I wish you safe travels and that everyone enjoys a safe and happy holiday (or regular day of the week for those not in the US).  Next week, there will be minimal blogging by the Confetti Crew, as I have asked them to spend time in front of their families instead of their computers.  We’ll have a few posts here on the Reverse Confetti blog.  Stay tuned for a fun announcement!

. . . . .

Well, it’s Friday and you know what that means!…

CONFETTI CAMERA

Hey, hey ‘Fetti Fans!  It’s time for another installment of CONFETTI CAMERA!

Can I just tell you how much I LOVE this segment!?  It’s so fun to see how each of the Confetti Crew designers takes on the new challenge/theme!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from cards completed inside and out from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

Today on Confetti Camera we have the super sweet and incredibly talented, HEATHER PULVIRENTI

HeatherIntroPic

Hi ‘Fetti Fans! Heather P. here today with my take on “Inside & Out” cards.  To create my card, I started by first cutting a bunch of wave pieces from white card stock using the Doin’ the Wave Confetti Cuts.  I then fiddled with the arrangement of the waves on the card front, and adhered them to the base once I was happy with their placement.  Next, I covered the two smaller wave pieces with Stickles.

 112014

I then die cut one of each of the snowflakes from the Let It Snow Confetti Cuts from silver glitter card stock, and attached them to the card front with pop dots.  The Tag Me Confetti Cuts was used on a piece of mint CS, and stamped with one of the sentiments from Seasonal Sentiments before heat embossing in white.  To create a banner, I simply trimmed off the top of the tag before attaching it to the card base.  To finish off the front, black enamel dots were added.

112014CUa

To create the inside of the card, I started by first stamping the sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments in light gray ink.  I then cut a few more wave pieces from mint, white and glitter card stock using the Doin’ the Wave Confetti Cuts.  The pattern was arranged, then adhered to the inside of the card.  I then die cut a snowflake from white card stock using the Let It Snow Confetti Cuts, and adhered it to the card base.  To finish up, I covered the snowflake with Stickles, and embellished the center with a black enamel dot.

Well, that wraps it up for me today, but be sure to come back tomorrow for more Reverse Confetti inspiration!

on November 19, 2014

Hello and Happy Wednesday ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What’ is Wednesday in the works?

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

Today, Confetti Crew member, Sarah is sharing a great holiday project with you on a new video..

SarahIntroPic

The Confetti Crew have been sharing some amazing tags lately, and I just love a pretty tag on a plainly wrapped parcel at Christmas time – tres chic! I’ve made some burlap based tags with lots of different textures using some of my favorite Confetti Cuts and a bright pop of non traditional color!

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on November 18, 2014

Hey, hey ‘Fetti Fans…

Happy Tuesday!  Instead of Time for a CARD Tuesday, I thought that I would have a fun winter/Christmas PROJECT to share with you today.

I love working with wood blocks and making lil’ gifties.  HERE is one that I did a couple of years ago (a pin, because my former blog is no longer in use).

. . . . .

TTSBlock

This project makes a wonderful gift without breaking the bank or taking up too much time.  The length of what you will need to make one might seem long, but chances are that you have a lot (most) of this stuff in your craft stash.

Supplies:

Seasonal Sentiments Stamp Set

Confetti Cuts Dies: Branch Out, Let It Snow, Tag Me (flag ended panel)

Ink

Wood Block (Mine is one of the photo blocks from Michaels.  They come with metal swirlies coming out the top, but are easily removed.  I think I picked them up for a $1 each last year).

Wood Balls

Patterned Paper

Felt (I used 2 different colors of green)

White Cardstock

Brown Cardstock

White Paint

Paint Brush

Stencil

Embossing Paste (I used translucent)

Glitter

Sequins

Rhinestones

Ribbon

Button

Linen Thread or Baker’s Twine

Jingle Bells

Hot Glue

Adhesive (Dimensional and Liquid)

TTSBlock3

The How-To:

1. Paint and sand wood block.

2. Adhere pattern paper to front of blog and apply embossing paste over stencil, sprinkle with glitter and allow to dry.

3. Cut tree pieces from felt and trunk from brown cardstock. Add white cardstock detail covered in glitter to bottom of scalloped tree. Assemble, add sequins & rhinestones and add to block using dimensional adhesive

4. Stamp sentiment on white cardstock piece cut from the flag ended panel from TAG ME Confetti Cuts.  Tuck under tree and adhere to block with dimensional adhesive.

5. Cut snowflakes from LET IT SNOW Confetti Cuts dies and adhere to block, adding sequins, as well.

6. Paint wood balls, allow to dry.  Cover in adhesive (such as Mod Podge or Martha Stewart Glitter glue) and roll in glitter.  Allow to dry and adhere to base of wood block using hot glue.

7. For the topper, stack ribbon (in a double bow), snowflake (cut from LET IT SNOW Confetti Cuts) and button tied off with linen thread and jingle bells.  Attach to top of block with hot glue.

Friday Greetings ‘Fetti Fans!

I hope you all are staying warm and that the Polar Vortex isn’t chilling you to the bone.  It’s certainly a wee bit cooler than the “sub-tropical” climate than I thought we were moving to here in Houston!  Fortunately, I still have all my fleece pants (and have been proudly wearing them around the house).

I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that ordered new release goodies this week!  I cannot wait to see what y’all do with all these stamps and dies!  Be sure to link up your blog posts to our Facebook page and use #reverseconfetti on Instagram.  If you haven’t already, follow us!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

By admin
on November 12, 2014

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!  We have a very special WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS for you today!  Confetti Crew member, Amy Sheffer, has an awesome project to share along with some great tips!

Before we get started, let me just recap what WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS is…

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

. . . . .

Hey, it’s Amy here!

Today I’m focusing on combining dies in fun, creative ways, as well as using felt to add warmth to your project.

 RC_WIW_11.12.14_baby it's cold outside_aks

The first thing I did was to make a felt mitten using the tag from the TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts die set and a medium-size paisley from PERFECTLY PAISLEY Confetti Cuts for the thumb.

RC_WIW_11.12.14_detail2_aks

Felt is a great way to add texture and warmth to your projects, and works especially well for a mitten! When you’re die-cutting felt, it helps to use a metal shim in order to get a nice, clean cut. If you don’t have a metal shim, try running your die through your machine back and forth a few extra times. Then carefully run a pair of scissors along the cuts lines to ensure a clean break when separating the die-cut from the negative. I topped my mitten with a large snowflake from the new LET IT SNOW Confetti Cuts die set and a CIRCLE GARLAND Confetti Cuts die-cut. Both were cut from a white flocked paper (my white felt wasn’t quite white enough for my liking!).

RC_WIW_11.12.14_mittendetail_aks

My simple design consists of two light gray fishtail banner strips, a stamped sentiment from SEASONAL SENTIMENTS, and a sprinkling of sequins and buttons to give the impression of falling snow.
