Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

Happy October and hooray for fall, although it hardly feels like it is upon us here in North Texas.  October pretty much marks the turn of the seasons…and you never know if you’re going to freeze or sweat on Halloween.

If you’ve been watching the MAKE IT WITH ME MONDAY scopes (via Periscope), you’ve heard me mention that we are having an October release.  We generally release every other month, but we have bumped up our Holiday Release to October 8th this year.  There are new stamps, new Confetti Cuts dies, new Quick Card Panels and MORE!  Sneak peeks start Monday, but you can WIN IT BEFORE YOU CAN BUY IT over on Facebook starting at 8am CST today!

WEEK IN REVERSE

By Jen del Muro
on September 25, 2015

Hello and TGIF, ‘Fetti Fans!

What an awesome week it has been here!  What’s happening here, you ask?  There’s the daily routine of shipping orders, checking emails and other little tasks that are all part of being a business.  I’m fortunate to do this from home with a couple of doggies at my feet most days.  We’ve been researching and looking at office space, but it looks like we are staying based at home for now.  I am grateful for the opportunity to work from home, to be available to my kids and to make my own hours (and there are lots and lots of odd hours in there!). I am grateful that I took this leap a few years ago and I get to share my creative passion with  you.  I am so very grateful for YOU, for your support and for you sharing your creativity with me.  Needless to say, I am grateful for A LOT and I am also VERY excited!  There is a lot happening behind the scenes here that I can’t reveal quite yet.  But those long, odd hours are being put to good use to bring new products and exciting events (both online and in person) to you!  Today, I have shelves being built in the Reverse Confetti office and soon those shelves will be packed with new goodies!  Stay tuned! XO-Jen

Now, let’s take a peek at what the Confetti Crew has been up to this week!

CONFETTI CAMERA

By Jen del Muro
on August 20, 2015

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Thursday!

It’s an exciting day here in the del Muro household…it’s Meet the Teacher day at the kiddos’ school!  The kids are buzzing with excitement and I may just have a heel kick, too!  Here’s a fair warning of Back to School pics to be posted soon. *wink*

 . . . . .

And, here on the Reverse Confetti blog it’s time for Confetti Camera!

ConfettiCameraRCblog

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round each of our designers will be coming up with a SET of something. You’ll see gift sets, card sets, pocket scrapping sets and much more this time around.

A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

In the spotlight this week is the super talented AMY KOLLING.  I’m happy that I get to call her friend, too!

AmyKIntroPic

So for this round of Confetti Camera, we are showing off the theme “Set ’em Up!”  Since my kids just started back to school last week, I know I’ll be needing small gifts for the teachers here and there.  What a better time to whip up a set of mini cards for the kid’s teachers!

Confetti Camera4

I started by die cutting a black cardstock “frame” using the Shakers ‘N Frames Confetti Cuts.  I love this set of dies and I probably won’t ever cut these 2 rounded squares apart simply because it keeps them evenly spaced for a perfect frame!  I’ve added the frame to a 3×3 white top folding card and trimmed the corners to be rounded like the frame.

 Confetti Camera3

There are several sentiments included in the Class Act stamp set, so I stamped these in Versafine Onyx Black ink inside the frame.  To finish these mini cards off, the apple was die cut using the Class Act Confetti Cuts with traditional primary colors and added to my card using foam adhesive.  As a final detail, a 6mm Peridot sequin was added to the edge of the leaf.

 Confetti Camera2

Now, you can’t give a set of cards without coordinating envelopes, can you?  Of course not!  I’ve stamped each envelope with stamps from Class Act.  For presentation, I’ve wrapped my set of 4 mini cards and envelopes with twine.  Now, it’s all ready to add to a gift basket for a handmade touch!

CONFETTI CAMERA

By Jen del Muro
on April 09, 2015

Greetings, ‘Fetti Fans!

What an incredible week it’s been so far!  And we’re continuing to share more inspiration using the new products (along with some “old”) on today’s CONFETTI CAMERA.

In case you missed it, last week we kicked off a new round/theme of Confetti Camera…THROWBACK PROJECTS!  I’m really excited about the projects that the Confetti Crew has to share with you during this round, as I am sure that it will bring back some memories…I know that it has for me!

ConfettiCameraRCblog

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from throwback projects from each of our designers.  I have been stamping for a long time and I have seen things come and go and then come around.  A primary example of this is shaker cards.  We’re taking a look back to those “way back when” projects and breathing new life into them.

Today on Confetti Camera is the so sweet and incredibly talented, KATHY MARTIN

KathyMartinIntro

. . . . .

During my years of paper crafting, there have been a lot of card styles and techniques that have come and gone and then emerged once again with a new twist. Browsing some card archives I noticed a couple different styles that were popular years ago and have recently resurfaced …transparency cards and the shaker technique. Today I combined both for my Camera Confetti project, along with the new LEAPING LIONS stamps and LEAPING LIONS Confetti Cuts dies.

150327-Wild-About-You-II

I used to enjoy making clear cards once upon a time and back then they were made with regular office supply transparencies. Today you can find lots of printed transparencies that make these kinds of cards more fun and colorful to create.

150327-Wild-About-You-Lion

Even though shaker cards have been around for quite some time, I’ve never made one until today! Reverse Confetti’s new SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts make this technique too easy to pass up and the results…super fun!

I have had so much fun playing with this release and I just know that you are going to love creating with it, too!

My first project I have to share with you today is a tassel garland that I created using the new TASSEL Confetti Cuts die…

TassleGarland

Needless to say, not only have I had a little bit of fun creating with this new Confetti Cuts die, but I have also had a blast shopping for tissue paper.  Imagine my jaw dropping when I saw this gorgeous gold “tissue” paper at Michaels just after I picked up the black and white stripey one at Target.  I could not get home fast enough to make this!

Detail shot…

TassleGarlandDetail

. . . . .

This next card that I have to share with you uses the same color palette.  I have to admit that was not planned at all.  Apparently, my subconscious knew what it was doing when it kept me reaching for these colors!

GeometricHello

This card features the new GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die along with the new HELLO Confetti Cuts die.

I cut the GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND from a piece of white cardstock and then adhered it to a white cardstock base.  I then cut it from gold shimmer cardstock and filled in the triangles on the one adhered to the card base.

The HELLO Confetti Cuts die is cut from a couple of pieces of black cardstock and layered for a little extra depth.

GeometricHelloDetail

As evident from many of my release projects, I just can’t keep away from the sequins!  I layered 2 sizes and topped them off with an enamel flatback pearl here as my finishing touch to this card.

COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI: Leaping Lions and Pineapples Aplenty

By Jen del Muro
on April 05, 2015

Greetings and Happy Easter, ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s DAY ONE of our sneak peeks, or as we like to call them…THE COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI!  On April 8th we are release 5 new stamp sets, 8 new Confetti Cuts die sets and a new *limited edition* set of QUICK CARD PANELS!

Are you wondering why in the world we are starting our Countdown to Confetti on Easter Sunday?  Well, we always kick off our sneak peeks on the 5th and since this is not a physical event we chose to go ahead and keep truckin’ along like we always do.

ConfettiCountdown

Just a note…all of our releases will happen on the 8th of the month…just not every month.  We generally release new product every other month.  This is a special release, as April is usually a non-release month for us. We’ll still be hopping on the 8th, whether there is a release or not.  Just remember, “Eight is Great!”

. . . . .

Don’t forget to leave a comment here and on each sneak peek post this week for a chance to win!

In addition to having a chance to win just by leaving a comment on the sneak peek posts, we are also running a Facebook promotion (starting at 9am EST today).  After you are done checking out the sneak peeks, head on over to OUR FACEBOOK PAGE and look for this graphic pinned to the top of our feed…

NextRelease

On Facebook, simply leave a comment under the graphic.  One person that comments on the graphic by 1pm EST on April 7th will be randomly chosen to win a $15 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store.  Winners for both the blog comments and Facebook comments will be announced here on the Reverse Confetti blog as well as on Facebook.

. . . . .

Alright, ‘Fetti Fans, you know the drill…grab that cuppa, sit back and enjoy all the Confetti Creativity we have for you today!

. . . . .

Before I dive right into all the projects I have to share with you today, I just wanted to tell you a little bit about this special release.  As you know, April is usually one of our non-release months.  So, why have a release on a non-release month?  At CHA in January I had so much fun seeing all the creativity, trends and spirit of this industry.  There’s something about being surrounded by creative people, I guess!  It really helped my ideas flow and pretty soon my sketchbook was overflowing for ideas for (a few) upcoming releases.  So here we are, on Easter Sunday, kicking off a special Countdown to Confetti for our April release.  A couple of the Confetti Crew Design Team members have hailed this as “the best release ever.”  I hope you think so, too!

. . . . .

First, I’d like to introduce the new *limited edition*

Piña Colada QUICK CARD PANELS

PinaColadaQCP_April15ProductGraphic

QUICK CARD PANELS are limited edition premium heavyweight cardstock panels measuring 3.25″ x 4.5″.  Each package contains 2 of each 8 printed design.  They are designed for A2 card making, but you can easily use them on all of your paper crafting projects!  We will have a new set of QUICK CARD PANELS with each release. Grab them while you can, because once they’re gone, they’re gone!

You’ll see the new limited edition QUICK CARD PANELS used on a variety of projects from the Confetti Crew.  We can’t wait to see how you will use them on your creations!

. . . . .

One of prominent themes that I noticed at CHA this year was party and DIY fun!  Lots of banners and decor ideas swirled in my head and soon these 2 new Confetti Cuts die sets were born…

TASSEL Confetti Cuts

TasselCCProductGraphic

LAYERED BANNER DUO Confetti Cuts

LayeredBannerDuo

And then, I made this…

Banner1

Detail shot of the TASSEL Confetti Cuts on each end…

Banner1Tassle

The TASSEL Confetti Cuts die is best used with tissue paper.  I took one sheet and folded it several times and then ran the die through my Big Shot. I then folded it over the piece of string the banner is strung on and “fluffed” it up. To secure it over the string, there is a piece of baker’s twine wrapped and tied around the top of the die cut (below where it is folded over string).

The LAYERED BANNER DUO features 2 different shapes of banners: rectangles and triangles.  As the title of the set suggest, you can layer these.  You can also use the smaller shape to cut out the center of the larger coordinating shape, creating a frame, like I did with the white panels here…

Banner1Layers

Also used on this banner are the previously released CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS and LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die sets.  The letters are foam letter stickers.

. . . . .

Have you noticed that pineapples seem to be popping up everywhere these days?  It’s a fresh and fun trend and I couldn’t resist turning them into stamps and Confetti Cuts dies!

Introducing…

PINEAPPLES APLENTY

PineapplesAplentyProductGraphic

and the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set…

PineapplesAplentyCCProductGraphic

My first card today features the new PINEAPPLES APLENTY stamp and Confetti Cuts die set, as well as the new Piña Colada QUICK CARD PANELS (and another  Confetti Cuts die set that I will introduce in just a moment).

Pineapples1card

The PINEAPPLES APLENTY Confetti Cuts die set features a full pineapple and a separate crown for layering.  Here’s a shot of the layered crown, along with the green flag ended panels cut from the new LAYERED BANNER DUO Confetti Cuts die set…

Pineapples1card_detail2

The pineapple QUICK CARD PANEL and kraft panels (stamped with WHOLE LOTTA DOTS) are both cut from the new…

SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts

ShakersNFramesCCProductGraphic

I absolutely LOVE this Confetti Cuts die set.  It’s great for layering, like I did here.  And, as it’s name suggests, it’s perfect for making shakers and frames (I’ll get to that a little later in this post).

One last detail shot of this card…

Pineapples1card_detail1

. . . . .

My next card is a lot more clean and simple (CAS) and also features the new PINEAPPLES APLENTY stamp and dies…

CASPineapples1

The textured white layer was created using embossing paste and stencil.  I’m kind of wishing that I would have thought to make my own on this card, too…more on that later in this post.

Again, I layered the crown.  I also added twine and a sequin for a fun little added detail…

CASPineapples1_detail

Here’s one more detail shot of this card.  I just love this sentiment!

CASPineapples1_detail2

. . . . .

I am so stinkin’ excited about this release!  Can you believe I even have  a couple of more introductions for today!?!

First up is a great new addition to create awesome detail your paper crafting projects.

GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts

GeometricBackgroundProductGraphic

This Confetti Cuts die is smaller than A2 size making it perfect for layering.  It’s also great on it’s own or as a stencil, as hinted to above.

To create a stencil from the GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die, simply cut it from acetate and use with embossing paste.  I used translucent embossing paste on a piece of pattern paper with my homemade GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts stencil here…

DIYstencil

You’ll see how I used it on my card below…after a couple of more introductions!

Joining their puppy and birdie friends, I introduce to you…

LEAPING LIONS

LeapingLionsProductGraphic

Does it get any cuter?  I love the lions in this set and you can really make them  your own with the added tummy, face and tail detail stamps that are included.

And the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set…

LeapingLionsCCProductGraphic

Here’s my card using these cuties along with the paper shown above…

LL_Card

I really wish you could reach in your computer and touch this card!…lots of fun textures happening!

Here’s a shot of all the added details, including the banner and lion (check out the stripes and polka dots he’s “wearing”).

LL_Card_detail

. . . . .

One last card and then I’m sending you on your way to see what the Confetti Crew did with all these new goodies being introduced today!

This card also features the new LEAPING LIONS stamp and Confetti Cuts dies.  I’ve made a shaker using the new SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts die set.  In addition, I have also used the scalloped rectangle banner, 2 of them actually, from the new LAYERED BANNER DUO as a panel…

LLCard2

For the pink banners above the lions, I cut out the banner from the LEAPING LIONS Confetti Cuts die set, but did not stamp the outline stamp on it.  Instead, I just used the lined detail.  I love the look of this!

LLCard2Detail

Inside the shaker, I used the confetti that comes with in the SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts die set along with some itsy bitsy sequins.

LLCard2Detail1

. . . . .

That’s all I have for today, but all of the Confetti Crew and ‘Fetti Friends are sharing their creations with you, too.
