Hey, hey, ‘Fetti Fans!

Time for CONFETTI CAMERA…throwback style!

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from throwback projects from each of our designers.  I have been stamping for a long time and I have seen things come and go and then come around.  A primary example of this is shaker cards.  We’re taking a look back to those “way back when” projects and breathing new life into them.

A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

Today on CONFETTI CAMERA, we have the sweet and oh so talented, AMY SHEFFER

. . . . .

Hi ‘Fetti Fans! It’s Amy S. here today with my take on our “Everything Old Is New Again” theme. I went back to the beginning of my blog (2007-2008) to remind myself of some of the things that were trendy back then, and picked out the altered binder clip photo holder for today’s project. The binder clips are super simple to decorate, and make such cute little display stands!

I started by covering a jumbo binder clip with patterned paper from the Simple Stories I Am collection. Next, I accented with a white card stock scalloped border cut with the Double Edge Scallop Border Confetti Cuts die, some turquoise twine, and a layered felt flower die-cut with the Petals ’N’ Posies Confetti Cuts dies. I tied some black and white baker’s twine around the “arms” of the binder clip, then accented with wood veneer hearts.

Instead of displaying a photo, I created a motivational display piece. I stamped the quote, from Shine From Within, in pink ink onto a cobblestone pattern from the Simple Stories I Am collection, layered it onto some other complimentary patterns from the same collection, and accented with clear sequins, a vellum Double Banner Garland, a white linen thread bow and another wood veneer heart. The three layers of patterned paper are nice and snug in the binder clip, but since they’re not adhered, it’s super easy to swap this out for a photo (or a recipe card or a place card or whatever else you can dream up!).

That’s it for me today! I hope you’re inspired to breathe new life into something “old” too!

Hello, ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Wednesday!

We have a very special WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS for you today!

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between. Today, Confetti Crew member Amy Sheffer, has a super awesome way to add dimension, color and WOW FACTOR to your card using the new GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die.

. . . . .

Hi ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy today, with this week’s Wednesday in the Works. I love the new GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die, and wanted to share with you a prism idea I came up with. I was in the process of creating a shaker using this die, and had about six or so white GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts panels cut, so that I could build up enough depth for a shaker. When I went to stack the die-cuts together, they were ever so slightly out of alignment. I thought it looked really cool, and would look even cooler with rainbow panels instead of all white. So I got to work cutting out one panel from white glitter paper, and 7 more ROYGBIV panels.

I used liquid glue to adhere the layers to one another, which gave me enough dry time that I could slide each panel right into the desired offset position. To keep the liquid glue mess in check, I only used the glue at the intersections and around the perimeter. That seemed to be plenty of glue to hold everything together.

The sentiment, from SHINE FROM WITHIN, is heat embossed in white onto a vellum banner, then layered onto more of the same glitter paper that I used for the top layer of the prism.

An ombre version of this would look great too! Just use different shades of the same color.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope your day is filled with sparkle and color!

COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI: Shine From Within, Color Me Happy and More Confetti Cuts Dies

By Jen del Muro
on April 06, 2015

Greetings ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Monday!

It is, indeed, a very happy Monday here as we continue our COUNTDOWN TO CONFETTI (a.k.a. sneak peeks) for our special April release.  In case you missed Day One, be sure to scroll down and check it out as we introduced A LOT of new goodies yesterday.  Today, we have even more to share with you, including 2 new stamp sets and more Confetti Cuts dies.  We’ll be showing off the new Quick Card Panels, as well.

Just a note…all of our releases will happen on the 8th of the month…just not every month.  We generally release new product every other month.  This is a special release, as April is usually a non-release month for us. We’ll still be hopping on the 8th, whether there is a release or not.  Just remember, “Eight is Great!”

. . . . .

Don’t forget to leave a comment here and on each sneak peek post this week for a chance to win!

In addition to having a chance to win just by leaving a comment on the sneak peek posts, we are also running a Facebook promotion.  After you are done checking out the sneak peeks, head on over to OUR FACEBOOK PAGE and look for this graphic pinned to the top of our feed…

On Facebook, simply leave a comment under the graphic.  One person that comments on the graphic by 1pm EST on April 7th will be randomly chosen to win a $15 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store.  Winners for both the blog comments and Facebook comments will be announced here on the Reverse Confetti blog as well as on Facebook.

. . . . .

Grab that cuppa joe, because here we go!

I love the look of paint on my paper crafting projects, but sometimes it’s just not all that practical or I just want something a little quicker (and easier).  Enter…

This set is filled with paint swashes and splatters, as well as a couple of sentiments.  The “hello” sentiment was also made into a Confetti Cuts die (same size)…

I created a set of 3 mini cards using the template you can find HERE using these 2 new products together…

I stamped the paint swash from COLOR ME HAPPY in aqua and then added the olive green splatters.  I then adhered the HELLO Confetti Cuts die cut, with centers attached in the letters.  As a finishing touch, I added 3 gold sequins.

This clean and simple trio is going to make a great gift set!

 . . . . .

While I don’t intend to put the above cards in the box featured in this next project, it would be perfect for sweet cards sets just like it!

I love packaging.  There I said it.

Actually, that is no secret, as I love creating Confetti Cuts dies to make cute packages and such. I also love collecting (ahem, hoarding) other types of packaging and I have been collecting (ahem, hoarding) this particular box just waiting for the perfect opportunity to dress it up.  I saw it as I was looking through my drawers prepping for this release and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!

I started with one of the Piña Colada QUICK CARD PANELS (love these panels!!) and then layered it with the largest rounded square from the new SHAKERS ‘N FRAMES Confetti Cuts set (this die set is never leaving my desk).  The sentiment is stamped in dark pink and then I stamped the swash over each word after I stamped off one time in the same color ink.

I added the heart (cut from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set) and a few gold sequins as embellishments.

My favorite embellishment on here is the tassel cut from the new TASSEL Confetti Cuts die.  I added some gold curling ribbon to tie in with the gold sequins.  Viola…super easy and cute gift packaging!

. . . . .

I’ve had so much fun inking up this next set!  It’s a sentiment set that I know I will find myself reaching for over and over because I love giving uplifting cards.  These sentiments are perfect for all those upcoming graduations, or just to let someone know that you care and are cheering for them.

SHINE FROM WITHIN goes great with the new GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die.  Before I had either one in my hands, I already had sketches done of how I wanted to use them together!

Here’s my first card pairing the two…

To make this card, I created an A2 card base.  I then cut 1 piece of patterned paper and one piece of black cardstock to A2 size, too.  I adhered the patterned paper to the card base and then cut the GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die from the piece of black cardstock.  I layered both the negative of the die cut, and the GEOMETRIC BACKGROUND Confetti Cuts die cut on top of the patterned paper.

I then stamped the sentiment on coordinating patterned paper, matted it with black cardstock and adhered it to the card with dimensional adhesive.  Finally, I added some clear sequins (I keep reaching for sequins, don’t I!).

Detail shot…

. . . . .

My final project for today is a card that features the new SHINE FROM WITHIN stamp set.

As you can see, I didn’t go for the clean and simple look here.  I had a good time playing with lots of layers…

This sentiment is the perfect size to be paired with the large tag in the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set.

When I thought I was all done with the card, I kept looking at it and thinking, “This needs something.” You know that feeling, right?  It looks fine, but it’s just not all the way done.  That’s how it was for me and then I added the scalloped detail (cut from the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts die) and the 3 black enamel pearls to the left of the tag.

. . . . .

That’s all I have for you today, ‘Fetti Fans, but the Confetti Crew has been very, and I mean VERY, busy creating lots of FABULOUS creations to share with you!

Be sure to leave a comment at each stop along the way for a chance to win!
