HAPPY FALL-IDAYS: THANKSGIVING

By Jen del Muro
on October 14, 2015

Hello and welcome to DAY TWO of our HAPPY FALL-IDAYS event, ‘Fetti Fans!

Falliday_Thanksgiving

I hope everyone enjoyed the first day of this special online showcase event that we are hosting this week!  I’ve had a blast making and sharing my projects, as has the rest of the Confetti Crew Design Team.  There are links to those posting towards the end of this post.

Today is all about Thanksgiving (and, my apologies for being a bit late for Canadian Thanksgiving!).

You are going to see some fabulous place settings and other projects (plus much more) from the Confetti Crew today, but I went in a slightly different direction with my project, a paper wreath…

DSC05972

Coming up with something for today was troubling me for a little white, but then while playing with some stuff on my desk (namely the STITCH FLAG TRIO Confetti Cuts die set), a light bulb went off and this little wreath was born.

DSC05965

Here’s how I created this (it’s really quite simple!)…

I cut an “O” with 2 circles dies (I used my larger Spellbinders circles that I keep in my stash).

Then I cut out 20 of the flag ended panels from the STITCHED FLAG TRIO Confetti Cuts die set.  I folded them over the “O,” starting at the bottom, then the top, then the sides and then filling in between.  I overlapped 4 of the cuts for a little added dimension, without it being too overpowering.

I noticed that the center did not look quite as “clean” as I would like, so I grabbed my large wreath from the new WREATHS Confetti Cuts and cut one from kraft (I didn’t pop out the centers) and then one from a woodgrain patterned paper and layered them on top of each other and then folded/”fluffed” up the sides on the top one…

DSC05959

It still needed a little something to decorate it and I grabbed the PUMPKIN PATCH stamp and Confetti Cuts, along with the LEAFY Confetti Cuts die set and stamped and layered.  I added a few enamel dots and “dew drops” for a bit of texture and detail to finish it off.

DSC05958

When it was all done and just sitting there, I wasn’t immediately sure how to present it.  A quick call to the bestie for a creative chat and I added a paper straw and popped it in a bunch of mums, making it the perfect hostess gift or centerpiece.

DSC05967

Of course, either of my kids would have loved to have it hanging on their door, too.  It was easy enough that I may just have them make their own!

. . . . .

As you know, there is A LOT more inspiration being shared today by the Confetti Crew.  Happy Fall-idays!

TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s been an amazing week here at the Reverse Confetti offices and I hope it has been for you, too!  We’re kicking off the weekend with the new Minion movie and hopefully getting some time by the pool, too…especially since our last couple of poolside attempts have gone up in flames.   I’m getting to that point that I am looking forward to the new school year starting…anyone else with me on this one?

. . . . .

It’s been a few Fridays since our last WEEK IN REVERSE, but we are back with it today.  Check out what the (amazing!) Confetti Crew has been up to this week…

CONFETTI CAMERA

By Jen del Muro
on July 02, 2015

Howdy ‘Fetti Fans!

Happy Thursday and welcome to the latest CONFETTI CAMERA!

ConfettiCameraRCblog

A little bit about Confetti Camera…

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from throwback projects from each of our designers.  I have been stamping for a long time and I have seen things come and go and then come around.  A primary example of this is shaker cards.  We’re taking a look back to those “way back when” projects and breathing new life into them.

A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such as Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will follow the same theme until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

Up on CONFETTI CAMERA today is the so very sweet (and super commenter), AMY TSURUTA…

AMYTIntro

I’ve had this great big jar of UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) for a while and thought I’d do a flashback to the Cracked Glass Technique!

I used the thanks stamp from Circle Sentiments.  I stamped and used the coordinating Scalloped Circle Confetti Cuts.  With the die cut sentiment flat on a piece of scrap paper, I pounced my embossing pad on it.   I loaded up the circle with UTEE while it was in my embossing tray.  I heat set and while it was still hot, I loaded up the circle again with UTEE {I did it a total of 3 times}.

Here’s a photo of the triple embossed sentiment circle:
I popped it in the freezer for a couple minute and when I took it out, it was curled.  No worries because the next step is to literally bend the piece until you hear it crack/snap.  I did it a couple of times which then makes the circle ‘flat’ again.  I inked up the cracked piece with brown ink and wiped it off with a clean towel.

I incorporated the circle into my card with the July SFYTT as the inspiration!

I distressed the edges of all the card panels with the same brown ink that I used on the sentiment piece.   I also used a flag from the Stitched Flag Trio Confetti Cuts.

That was a fun flashback technique for me.  I think that it adds so much interest to my card!  Have you tried the Cracked Glass technique recently?  I would love to see how you would incorporate it in the July SFYTT:

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By Jen del Muro
on May 20, 2015

Hello ‘Fetti Fans and welcome the latest edition of WEDNESDAY OF WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS?

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between. Today, Confetti Crew member, Sarah Gough, shows you how to create a fun summer inspired project.  You are going to love the video she has come up with for you!

. . . . .

WIWmaySarahGough (2)

The weather is cooling down here in New Zealand, so it’s a good time for some summer escapism with the fab LET’S CHILL stamp set and LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts. I’ll show you how I make an icy popsicle…and let you in on the silly name we have for these summer treats downunder! I’m also making a fun messy background that features the Color Me Happy Stamp Set.

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By Jen del Muro
on May 19, 2015

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!

It feels like it’s been a little while since I last wrote a TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY post.  It really hasn’t been that long, but with all the excitement from the release, etc., it sure feels like it!

I actually don’t have a card to share today, but rather a tag or bookmark using the new GOD IS GOOD stamp set.

Faith1

The base of this project is cut from the TAG ME, TOO Confetti Cuts die set.  As you will notice, there are no scallops on this panel.  To achieve this look, I cut my piece of patterned paper just a hair thinner than the TAG ME, TOO Confetti Cuts die and then brought one end through the die and only cut the top portion.

Faith2

I then layered the striped panel cut from the new STITCHED FLAG TRIO Confetti Cuts die set.  I cut a hole in the center of it and then layered it with the scalloped reinforcer piece that is part of the TAG ME, TOO Confetti Cuts set.  I topped it off with ribbon and a button tied with linen thread.

The sentiment is stamped in black, matted and adhered to the base.  Easy peasy!

That’s all for today folks.  Back to the studio I go!

. . . . .

Got that cuppa joe?  Here we go!

My first reveal today is a set that will be an everyday go-to set that provides a simple, yet bold, circle graphic along with sentiments for lots and lots of occasions.

Introducing…

CIRCLE SENTIMENTS

CircleSentimentsProductGraphic

And, the coordinating Confetti Cuts die…

ScallopedCircle

. . . . .

This set is perfect for all sorts of paper crafting projects.  My first instinct was to use it on a card, but it morphed into something completely different and I love the outcome!

CircleTagTote1

This sentiment is perfect for all those upcoming grads and that was kind of my thought process/theme for this project as it came about.  I started with the flag ended panel (see below) and the CIRCLE SENTIMENTS stamp and coordinating Confetti Cuts die on a card.  From there I put it on the FOLDED TAG Confetti Cuts die cut and layered it on the paper cut with the OFFICE EDGES Confetti Cuts die set.  As you can see, I didn’t end up with a card, either.  I cut kraft cardstock with the TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts die set to create a little gift bag/gift card holder.  The sentiments and colors can easily be switched out for just about any occasion!

CircleTagTote

CircleTagTote2

Here’ the FOLDED TAG Confetti Cuts open.  Perfect for a little handwritten wish!

CircleTagTote3

Notice anything else that may be new?  Yep, it’s that darling string of stars AND that stitched flag-ended panel!

Introducing…

STAR GARLAND

StarGarlandCCProductGraphic

And…

STITCHED FLAG TRIO

StitchedFlagTrio

This STITCHED FLAG TRIO Confetti Cuts die set is a fun layering die set.  Each of the panels features a stitched, as well as a debossed, detail line.  Use on their own or all together for a great addition to your paper crafting projects!

 . . . . .

This second project using the CIRCLE SENTIMENTS stamps set and coordinating Confetti Cuts die is a set of tags I created for a friend that has her own clothing business.  I thought that these would a fun addition to her line of little girl tanks that she creates.

CircleTags

Pinned to the inside seam of the tank…

. . . . .

We have had several requests for a faith based set.  I really liked the idea of this and worked hard at making it fit with all things Reverse Confetti.  I adore how it came out!

Introducing…

GOD IS GOOD

GodIsGoodProductGraphic

This set is perfect for cards, scrapbook pages, Bible journaling and just about any other paper craft that you could think of!

Here, I created a card using the largest sentiment from GOD IS GOOD, along with a panel from the  new STITCHED FLAG TRIO and (previously released) SUN ‘N CLOUDS, LOVE NOTE (heart) and DOCUMENTED (rounded rectangle) Confetti Cuts die sets…

ShineHim

I love how bright and cheery this card is…the perfect addition to the flowers that I am giving to my son’s teacher this week for Teacher Appreciation!
