CONFETTI CAMERA

By admin
on July 31, 2014

Hey ‘Fetti Fans!

I am ready for this weekend to begin…are you?  This weekend a few girls from the Confetti Crew are making their way down to Houston for CKC!  Reverse Confetti will be doing Make ‘n Takes at The Little Blue House booth #500.  If you are planning to be at the event, be sure to stop by and give us a big hug!

. . . . .

It’s Thursday and time for another great CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions/show a tip until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

3) For this round we are focusing on ABC (anything but a card) projects.  Keep your eyes peeled for some fabulous ways to use your Reverse Confetti stamps!

. . . . .

Today on Confetti Camera we have a great home decor project from the super sweet and ever so talented, LISA HENKE

LisaHIntroPic

((Please note: Lisa’s project uses the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set which will be back in stock early next week.))

I always get excited to share on the Reverse Confetti Blog. Today I’m showing you how easy it is to use the great stamps and Confetti Cut dies to make a burlap frame for your home. Yep, I said home decor….don’t freak. It’s just like working on a card, but on a little larger space. To me, that means you get to add some extra little pretties to fill in the spaces.

LHCC- 1

I started by covering a 6×6 canvas frame with burlap. It’s a NO sew project, just use a strong adhesive, like Scor-Tape to secure the burlap to the back of the frame.

LHCC-2

I start with a focal point. Today, I used the FABULOUS FLAMINGO stamp set for my inspiration. I just love the beautiful sentiments included in the set. I then began layering. I pulled out TAG ME, TOO, CIRCLES ‘ N SCALLOPS and the banner piece from TAG ME. I cut all my pieces, stamped the sentiment, and decided to add some black accent to the banner piece. The trendy diagonal stripe from SO STRIPEY was perfect for the job.

Once I had my focal point complete, I moved outward from there adding bits and pieces of handmade embellies. It’s easy when you have such pretty Confetti Cut dies to work with. I die cut plenty of flowers with PETALS ‘N POSIES and two FABULOUS FLAMINGOS. I like to use papers from within the same paper pad, that way I know they will look great together.

LHCC-3

After I have all my pieces cut and stamped, I layered them up and place them on my frame where I think I want them. I take a step back and make sure I have a good balance of embellies. Then I adhere the pieces down and added the sequins. The last step was to add the ribbon to hang the frame.

LHCC-4

Home Decor items, don’t need to be hard. Stick to what you know and create something beautiful.

I have to admit that the above joke is nails on a chalkboard to me.  I remember someone telling it to me in first grade while we waited in line to get our school pictures taken and me rolling my eyes and thinking it was the worst joke ever.  I still think it’s a terrible joke.  So, what’s a girl to do when life hand you a joke like that?  Take that punch line and make cute stamps!

Introducing FRESH ‘N FRUITY and the coordinating FRESH ‘N FRUITY Confetti Cuts die set…

This simple notecard was created using the polka dot orange from the FRESH ‘N FRUITY stamp set, along with cuts from the FRESH ‘N FRUITY Confetti Cuts die set.  The panel that the oranges are mounted on is a combination of cuts from LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts, CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts (previously released) and the new PRETTY PANELS: DIAGONAL STRIPE Confetti Cuts die sets.

This second card is bunches of fun and uses a sentiment along with the polka dot lemon/lime image from the FRESH ‘N FRUITY stamp set, along with the coordinating FRESH ‘N FRUITY Confetti Cuts die set.

Limes

Additionally, I used the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts and TAG ME Confetti Cuts die sets (both previously released).

As mentioned above, we are introducing TWO stamp sets today along with a few of the new Confetti Cuts die sets.  In all, we are releasing 4 new stamp sets and 7 new Confetti Cuts die sets tomorrow…well, really it’s tonight (12am EST)!

Summer is in full swing and we are making a splash with this next set and coordinating Confetti Cuts die set…

FABULOUS FLAMINGO

PERFECTLY PAISLEY

PerfectlyPaisleyConfettiCuts

On this card/tag, I have used the PERFECTLY PAISLEY Confetti Cuts die cuts as water splashes.  Stay tuned for the hop tomorrow where I will show you how you can use them all on their own.  Many of the Confetti Crew have used them throughout the Countdown to Confetti.  How have you been inspired?

I also used the large and small scallop circle from the new CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts die set for added elements, as well as the new TAG ME, TOO Confetti Cuts die set.  For a finishing touch, I added layered sequins for a “splash” of bling.

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on June 25, 2014

Happy Wednesday ‘Fetti Fans! So happy you stopped by to visit us on the blog today! Amber here hijacking the blog while the Reverse Confetti offices are closed this week.

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

For my card, I broke out my Dylusions inks to create a fun spattered background!

 WW1a

First step was to emboss the arrows from ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS in black embossing powder on some watercolor paper. (I used Tim Holtz’s watercolor paper because it’s bright white and amazing with the Dylusions inks).

After heat setting the black embossed arrows, it’s time to spritz and splash some ink! I do this really quickly and with total randomness. Just take the cap off the ink and start flicking the ink. Get big splotches and small splotches. Blot with paper towel and flick more ink! Just keep repeating the process until you get the background you’re looking for. I used a couple different colors, but you could use just one or ten colors!

Once I had my background, I stamped the sentiment from INNER ROCK STAR. I stamped it once in black, and again in green ink. I cut the banner in the middle of the sentiment out and popped it up on dimensionals. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from CELEBRATE CAKE.

WEEK IN REVERSE

on June 20, 2014

TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

What a fun week it has been here in the del Muro house!  The kids had VBS all week, which I have to admit was awesome for me.  I had a few extra hours a day to prep for the upcoming release.  I’m doing a lot of prep ahead of time because we are having a family fun week next week.  It’s time to turn of the computers, phones, etc. and focus on what is most important in everyone’s life: family.

. . . . .

Friday brings the WEEK IN REVERSE where we take a peek back at what the super talented Confetti Crew has been up to!

I love that Laurie combined the anchor from HAPPY HARBOR with the sentiment from HERE WE GO.  The stripes on top (from SO STRIPEY) are great for the theme and the finishing touch of the heart strip (LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts) is perfection!

Sometimes having little color makes for big impact, like shown here on Amy Sheffer’s card using TAG ME Confetti Cuts and the WINNING stamp set…

Heather is the master with PEACOCK PRETTIES!  I love the large feather paired with the sentiment from LOTS TO SAY

Sarah had fun with this month’s color challenge and FREIDA FOX

I love this color combo on Lisa’s card using the WINNING STAMP set paired with the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set…

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

Hey there ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Hump Day!

Day 2 of summer vacation in the books and I am exhausted!  Ok, not really…well, kind of.

I have mandated down time so that we can all take a breather.  Meaning, they relax and I craft.   This arrangement is going to work out brilliantly!

. . . . .

Before I get to the heart of the WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS post, I want to announce the winner from our blog hop comments…

Today, I’m touching on the subject of metallics.  They are hot, hot, hot right now.  While gold is my fave, and what seems to be most accessible, there are lots of other choices…silver, copper and even a variety of colors made into metallics!

Yesterday, my card had several layers and details.  Today, I’m keeping it simple…

HoorayForYou

There are lots of ways that you can incorporate metallics into your projects.  I chose to use metallics as a simple embellishment here.  I cut the star strip from the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set from gold metallic paper (purchased at Michaels) and added it above and below the sentiment (from WINNING, along with the stars stamped in VersaMark).

Just a few tips…

When using metallics in your projects, keep it simple as they are easily the star of the show.  I’m  not saying only make clean and simple projects with them, just keep in mind that a little can often go a long way.

Pair them with neutrals (white, black, gray, kraft).  Here I used a white card base along with a large gray panel, which helped to make both the colors and the gold “POP.”

Last, and most importantly…have fun with them!  Metallics are a great way to jazz up a project and give it personality.
