Hello Fetti Fans! Ali here with a pretty Watercolour lift technique card which I was inspired, originally some time ago, to try after watching Jennifer McGuire's Youtube Channel here. I thought it would look wonderful using the very pretty Peony stamp set and I do love the result!  This is such a simple but pretty effect - the tone-on-tone colouring gives such a beautiful look - it's hard to believe it's achieved with just ink and water! It looks good in virtually any colour and I prefer using Distress Oxide inks with this technique as they react with water so well. The images in the Peony set have enough detail as well as enough colouring area to make this technique really effective!

To begin, I created the background by covering a piece of watercolour paper with my anti-static pad. I then stamped the images and sentiments on the card with Versamark ink and white embossed them. Once dry, I used my brush to apply the Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Inks over the embossing and when this was complete, I used a paper towel to clean the ink from the embossed outlines.

I used a brush and plain water to 'colour' inside the images and a paper towel to 'dab' off the water - this removes the ink from that area creating a lighter tone. To finish, I tapped water droplets from the brush over the piece.

Such a pretty effect and so satisfying when you see the result!
