Howdy, Howdy my friends!

I noticed a lot of not so happy “Oh no, it’s Monday” posts on Facebook yesterday.  I hope that Tuesday brings more sunshine to everyone…literally and figuratively!  I actually had a great day yesterday, as I finally got to start prepping projects for the November 8th release.  I love inking up fresh stamps and I can’t wait to share these with everyone!

I’m glad to hear that y’all are looking forward to the upcoming color challenge.  I’m super excited about it and know that it will be lots of fun for everyone!   Don’t forget that the weekly link list is still open this week, so link up those Reverse Confetti creations!  Stay tuned for more fun announcements coming up, too!

. . . . .

The first card today uses the set COUNT YOUR RAINBOWS from our Key Words Collection, where you are able to mix and match a key word with a variety of other words to create several different sentiments.  I thought this one was fitting for the season of thanks that we are quickly coming upon.

The leaf was cut out with my Silhouette and then spritzed with Art Anthology Warm (Brown) Color Spray and Heidi Swapp’s Mustard Color Shine.  I have to admit that this is not the first leaf that I created.  I had originally tried to create a leaf similar to the ones falling outside my window…red, yellow and green.  I ended up with a yellow and green leaf that looked like it had blood spatter on it.  Needless to say, it was not pretty.  I do love how this one came out and I think it’s a perfect compliment to the sentiment and overall theme of the card…

As you can see from both cards today, I love having white space on my cards and using small layers and a variety of colors that “POP!” off the white space.  This card using CELEBRATE CAKE (Key Words Collection), INNER ROCK STAR and WHOLE LOTTA DOTS does just that…

I started with the charcoal panel stamped with the large dots from WHOLE LOTTA DOTS and built on it.  Here’s a detail shot of the banner I created from flag ended pattern paper and layered it with the “Happy Birthday” sentiment…

I was just about to call it complete, but I kept thinking that it needed something.  You know that feeling…where it’s just not done until you can find that perfect finishing touch.  For this card, it was two things.  The charcoal panel did not originally have the dots stamped on it, but I am so happy that I added them.  They added just the perfect touch and tied in the dots on the banner nicely.  The second finishing touch is the black layer under the charcoal layer.  All that that leads me to a tip that I want to share with you…don’t adhere down any panels or embellishments until you know your project is complete.  You never know when you will want to add a stamped and/or additional paper layer!
