Howdy, ‘Fetti Friends!

I hope everyone’s week has started off well.  Over here in the del Muro house, we are squeezing in as much (local) fun into these last few weeks of summer before school starts again.  Lots of fun in the sun, as well as some shady play dates are up ahead. At Reverse Confetti, we are gearing up for all things fall and then we’ll be jumping into all the winter holidays.  I hope you’re ready for all the great new things that are up ahead!

As you know, we don’t release every month, but rather every other month. August is one of the months that we do not have a release, but we are still having a lot of fun here and it’s sure to be a month chock full of great projects and  inspiration.  Of course, we’ll be hopping on the 8th, as always.  We hope you’ll join us…

. . . . .

Right now, it’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY!

This is actually a card that I made for one of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges over on Splitcoast Stampers last week.  The challenge was “Simply Sparkly,” meaning a clean and simple (CAS) card with a bit of bling.  I love making CAS cards and there’s no secret that I have a thing for bling!

I started by stamping the words AWESOME from the ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS set and then added three strips of (double stick) red line tape in a diagonal to the bottom half of the die cut (Silhouette) tag.  Next, I added the glitter one color at a time.

I couldn’t stop at just glitter for a challenge that called for bling!  I also spritzed the base of my card with a little Heidi Swapp Color Shine it Teal.  It’s very subtle, but breaks up all the white just enough.  Plus it sparkles a little bit…bonus!

As you can see, I also added sequins and topped them with rhinestones for just that added little bit of bling (and color).

Because this card has so much sparkly stuff going on, I wanted to make sure the rest of the card was CAS just as the challenge called for.  I kept the layers to a minimum and the paper color palette is completely neutral.  When I added the kraft panel on the right, I needed a way to bring it together on the rest of the card.  To do this, I layered it under the white star and added kraft colored linen thread.
