Hello Fall

Hello crafty friends! I'm Lien and this week I'm sharing a fun way to color on darker cardstock that will leave you with a wonderful result every time!

For this card I started out by stamping the two floral images from the Fall Flowers stamp set in Versamark ink onto dark brown cardstock and I embossed them with Clear Gloss Super Fine embossing powder by WOW. That will leave you with a gorgeous glossy tone on tone effect and the resist feature of the embossing powder will help during the coloring as well! Because I'm coloring in these images with the Coliro (aka Finetec) pearlcolors, these are stunning metallic watercolors that really shine on darker cardstock.

To do this I first activate the watercolors by adding some water to them and letting that sit for a little while. You want quite a thick consistency for any metallic watercolor you're using otherwise you won't get great coverage. After I colored that all in, I let it sit to dry. You don't want to use a heattool on these paints because they will bubble up and it'll leave you with some weird results. I diecut the images with the coordinating dies and also dry embossed a panel of that same dark brown cardstock with the All Lined Up Cover Panel Confetti Cuts for a subtle backdrop. I added a little bit more interest to that panel by tearing off the edges and adding a little bit of splatter with the Coliro paints.

For my sentiment I used a stamp from the Autumn Apple Cider stamp set and stamped that with a brown dye ink onto kraft cardstock. I wanted to add embossing powder to this as well so I just stamped over that sentiment with Versamark ink and then added more of that Clear Gloss embossing powder. I fussycut out the sentiment and then it's time to assemble the card. I glued a kraft panel onto a white notecard, added foam tape to the back of the embossed panel to prop it up and also adhered all my other elements with foam tape as well (yes, I used tiny slivers of foam tape for the sentiment!). I also added some gems as a finishing touch.
