Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

Just a reminder, our shipping and service departments are now closed until Monday, June 8th as we head north to Dallas.  We are looking forward to re-establishing ourselves in the DFW area…but I am not looking forward to unpacking! Stay tuned for pics of the new space!

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between. Today, Confetti Crew member, Amy Sheffer, shows you how to create a fun summer inspired project.  You are going to love the video she has come up with for you!

. . . . .

Hello ‘Fetti Fans, it’s Amy here today with a fun idea for the TRIPLE CHEVIES Confetti Cuts die. I remember trying to weave a bunch of the skinny chevrons back during the winter holidays. I think I set that idea aside and forgot all about it — until today!

Basically, you die-cut a bunch of the thinnest chevron and then just weave them together. I alternated two colors for the chevrons facing up, and two other colors for the chevrons facing down. After I had everything arranged, I carefully turned over the weaving, added some washi to the back to hold it together, then added some liquid adhesive to the whole thing before adhering it to a white card base. I just eyeballed it with the weaving. You could of course get super precise and measure out the spaces in between your strips if you’d like. Since I did not, the edges were a little uneven, but nothing a little trim along the left and right couldn’t fix up nicely!

I thought a circular sentiment would be perfect to help break up all those angles. The sentiment and frame image are both from CIRCLE SENTIMENTS. To make the sentiment into a shaker, I die-cut three SCALLOPED CIRCLES Confetti Cuts, one from white card stock for the stamped frame, one from acetate, and one from white card stock for the sentiment. The inside frame opening was die-cut with the circle die from the FRESH ‘N FRUITY Confetti Cuts die set. Last, I embellished with some white linen thread and a pair of wood veneer stars.
