Hello and Happy July!

I love July!…First, we get to kick it off with a new SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY, then 4th of July, and of course, there is the new release on July 8th, which just happens to be my daughter’s birthday, too.  And, that’s all just in the first few days!  Whew!

NewReleaseCircle

Let’s get this party started with the new SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY!

First, the details…

There will be a new sketch posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 1st of each month.

The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 14th. The SFYTT button is  posted on the sidebar.  Click on it to be taken to the current SFYTT post and link list.

Reverse Confetti stamps are required to win.  This is a way we get to thank our customers for using our stamps.  Anyone is welcome to play, though!

You may enter as many times as you wish.

There will be a winner each month and that person will receive a $20 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store and claim the title of ‘Fetti Fave. The winner of SFYTT will be posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 15th of each month.

. . . . .

The July SFYTT is simple, yet versatile.  Feel free to create something that is clean and simple or dress it up with layers and embellishments.  Either way, this one will be fun to make your own!

ANNOUNCING…

By admin
on June 30, 2014

Hello and Happy Monday, ‘Fetti Fans!

I’m still shaking my head that today is Monday and that tomorrow is the first!

I have some super special (and FUN!) announcements to make today.

First, I would like to introduce the newest member of the Challenge Crew, Jessica Fick

JessicaFickIntro

A little about our newest team member…

I’m so honored to be joining the Reverse Confetti Crew Challenge team!  I love all things paper crafting related: stamps, dies, scrap booking, patterned papers, twines, ribbons, markers, etc… the list could go on and on!  I’m not sure if I have a favorite crafty style but rather enjoy dabbling in everything just a bit to keep the creative juices flowing.  I’ve been privileged to be part of some amazing design teams over the past 5+ years that I’ve been stamping. I love getting to know our online paper crafting community and collecting items for my crafty stash along the way!

My husband Brad (of 18 years) is my biggest supporter and encourager.  We have two great kids, Isaiah and Ashley, who are a true delight and joy to our family.  I teach K4-1st grade in a small private Christian school during the day and get as much crafty time as I can during my limited free time.

. . . . .

In addition to that super awesome announcement, I also would like to announce the winner of the June Color Challenge.  But first, let me thank everyone that played along.  What wonderful entries there were, as always!

Congrats to…

ColorWinner

Here is her fabulous, fun and colorful card using SO STRIPEY, DOIN’ THE WAVE Confetti Cuts (will be back in stock soon) and the LET’S CHILL stamp set with the coordinating LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts…

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!

Just a quick reminder…

 . . . . .

Time for another fun and fabulous CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions/show a tip until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

3) For this round we are focusing on how Reverse Confetti stamp sets are compatible with each other and each of the Confetti Crew members is picking two of their favorites to pair together on their project.

Today on Confetti Camera we have a project from the uber talented, KATHY MARTIN

Hey Confetti Fans! I’ve got a colorful happy card to share with you today using the LABEL ME and LET’S CHILL stamp sets along with the LABEL ME and LET’S CHILL Confetti Cuts.

140514-Hey-Sweetie-II

Once I decided on these yummy popsicle stamps and polka dotted papers, I ran with a circle theme. To create this card I first cut a white piece of card stock to 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ and folded it in half for my card base. Then I cut the black background paper to 5 1/4″ by 3 3/4″, added a few die cut circles in it and attached it to the card base with foam mounting tape to for dimension. With more foam tape I layered on the popsicles and sentiments.

140514-Hey-Sweetie-Detailst

Finishing touches include a little craft string bow and enamel dots. Notice how the dots are partially tucked under the background paper? This accentuates the layers. Yummy!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

Happy Wednesday ‘Fetti Fans! So happy you stopped by to visit us on the blog today! Amber here hijacking the blog while the Reverse Confetti offices are closed this week.

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

For my card, I broke out my Dylusions inks to create a fun spattered background!

 WW1a

First step was to emboss the arrows from ARROWS ‘N ELEMENTS in black embossing powder on some watercolor paper. (I used Tim Holtz’s watercolor paper because it’s bright white and amazing with the Dylusions inks).

After heat setting the black embossed arrows, it’s time to spritz and splash some ink! I do this really quickly and with total randomness. Just take the cap off the ink and start flicking the ink. Get big splotches and small splotches. Blot with paper towel and flick more ink! Just keep repeating the process until you get the background you’re looking for. I used a couple different colors, but you could use just one or ten colors!

Once I had my background, I stamped the sentiment from INNER ROCK STAR. I stamped it once in black, and again in green ink. I cut the banner in the middle of the sentiment out and popped it up on dimensionals. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from CELEBRATE CAKE.

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on June 24, 2014

Hey, hey ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY and I have a super summer inspired card to share with you today…

DreamInColorFlowers

When I think of summer, I think of COLOR and what better sentiment to use (from DREAM IN COLOR) with a rainbow of blooms from PETALS ‘N POSIES.

To create this card, I took a strip of paper and stamped the various flowers in red, pink, orange, green and aqua.  I then added the flower centers and purple flowers/berries.  Once I had it all put together I thought that it was in need of a little dimension, so I stamped the large blooms again and cut them out using the coordinating PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts die and popped them up using dimensional adhesive.

WEEK IN REVERSE

By admin
on June 20, 2014

TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

What a fun week it has been here in the del Muro house!  The kids had VBS all week, which I have to admit was awesome for me.  I had a few extra hours a day to prep for the upcoming release.  I’m doing a lot of prep ahead of time because we are having a family fun week next week.  It’s time to turn of the computers, phones, etc. and focus on what is most important in everyone’s life: family.

. . . . .

Friday brings the WEEK IN REVERSE where we take a peek back at what the super talented Confetti Crew has been up to!

I love that Laurie combined the anchor from HAPPY HARBOR with the sentiment from HERE WE GO.  The stripes on top (from SO STRIPEY) are great for the theme and the finishing touch of the heart strip (LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts) is perfection!

Sometimes having little color makes for big impact, like shown here on Amy Sheffer’s card using TAG ME Confetti Cuts and the WINNING stamp set…

Heather is the master with PEACOCK PRETTIES!  I love the large feather paired with the sentiment from LOTS TO SAY

Sarah had fun with this month’s color challenge and FREIDA FOX

I love this color combo on Lisa’s card using the WINNING STAMP set paired with the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set…

Here’s another one from Lisa featuring her fun and creative style along with HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO Confetti Cuts and DOIN’ THE WAVE

Her Confetti Camera project…

6.19.14

I wanted to focus on the newest Color Challenge (link on sidebar) and the large booms from PETALS ‘N POSIES……my favorite RC set.  I decided to mask off my blooms while stamping.  What made this easy was to cut the coordinating Confetti Cuts with typing paper and use that.  I didn’t have to stamp and cut my mask because the dies are a pretty good match.  They are a bit larger than the stamps but it worked well!!  My sentiment was pieced together using 2 stamps from YOU MAKE ME SMILE……..I like how Jen included the large word “SMILE” and then many supporting words or phrases to compliment making it a breeze to stamp in multiple colors.

6.19.14#2

Now to focus on that scallop border down the left side.  The DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts is a brilliant die…..2 in one!!!  Because this die will cut a full length A2 size scallop, I needed to trim it down for my design but wanted it to look “finished”.  I die cut the scallop border and then placed it back into the die but at a shorter length and ran it through my machine cutting off the extra.  This makes a “finished” look to the other end of the scallop!

Tip:  Remember to use those dies in your stash for masks!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

Happy Hump Day…the weekend is now in sight!  Do you have fun plans?  I’ll be burying myself in the studio in preparation for the JULY 8th release.  Mark you calendars as this release is gonna knock your socks off!

. . . . .

Today, I’m focusing on our current color challenge (yes, again…I LOVE IT and you should play along!).

Color challenges are such a great way to kick start your mojo.  Be inspired by the colors and let them lead the (creative) way!

Here’s this month’s color palette once again.  You can click on the pic to go to the post with the link list to upload your project for a chance to win!

June14ColorChallenge

A few months ago I got a new camera (thank you Target clearance!) and I’ve been playing around with different photography techniques.  I did some research and took some tips from a few sources to change the look of my photo set up.  I love the results and this might just be one of my favorite cards I have done with Reverse Confetti…

LifeIsAnAdventure

To create this card…

I started with a A2 card base.  For anyone wondering, I do not buy my bases.  Simply, it’s a piece of white cardstock cut in half and then folded.

I then cut a panel 1/4″ smaller on each side.  On this panel I added the large star strips from the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set and sewed across each of them.

Here’s what the back of the panel looked like when I was done sewing and tucking the remaining thread on the back (I didn’t want to just snip off the ends)…

LifeIsAnAdventure_Back

From there,  stamped the sentiment, plane trail and added the plane from HERE WE GO (cut from the coordinating Confetti Cuts die set, HERE WE GO).

Next, I added the stars with rhinestones popped up on dimensional adhesive.

Finally, I rounded the corners of the card base and large panel and adhered the large panel to the card base with dimensional adhesive.

Finally? Wait…”Something’s missing!” I thought.

The kraft strips were a complete afterthought, but I love what they brought to this project.  Something so simple and it was such a great finishing touch!

A shot of the dimension of this card…
