And, a little announcement…this is the last color challenge for Reverse Confetti.  Why?  Well, to be honest, my heart just isn’t in this challenge.  I started SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY years ago on my old blog (now defunct since I didn’t update my php) and I want to focus on that being the challenge for Reverse Confetti.  I promise there are some fabulous sketches coming your way!  Stay tuned, the next one is coming up October 1st!

Here’s some more fabulous inspiration from the Confetti Crew for our very last Color Challenge…

CONFETTI CAMERA

By admin
on September 25, 2014

Hello, hello, ‘Fetti Fans!

The weekend is in view and boy, oh boy, am I ready for it!  Football, birthday parties, my anniversary and my feet up…sounds like a plan to me!

But, alas, the weekend isn’t here quite yet.  However, we still have fun things happening right here on the Reverse Confetti blog.  It’s Thursday and it’s time for CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions/show a tip until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

3) For this round we are focusing on ABC (anything but a card) projects.  Keep your eyes peeled for some fabulous ways to use your Reverse Confetti stamps!

Today on Confetti Camera we have the fun and fabulous, AMBER HIGHT

AmberIntroPic

Hello ‘Fetti Fans! Hope everyone is having a great week so far, I can’t believe it’s already Thursday! Thursday bring Confetti Camera here on the Reverse Confetti blog. This round, we’re creating ABC projects. I’m not big on projects or treat bags/boxes, I’m a card girl. Ha! But I’m also a VORACIOUS READER and love anything to do with books! I was thinking, what could I create that I could use for reading? A bookmark of course! I’m always on the look out for cute bookmarks, so it was really fun to make my own!

 PicC

I created a bookmark out of several Reverse Confetti Confetti Cuts and the PAPER CRANE stamp set. When going through my RC collection, I was looking for sentiments that I could use on a bookmark, and thought these sentiments from PAPER CRANE worked perfectly!

 PicA

I started out with my CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts and cut out the largest scalloped circle in turquoise, and then the next smallest plane circle in white watercolor paper. I made a little pallette of Peeled Paint distress ink and swiped the circles through the ink a few times and dried, then swiped through the wet ink and dried again until I got the amazing watercolor’y look I was going for. Unfortunately it got mostly covered up, but fortunately it’s with adorable RC Confetti Cuts, ha!  Next, I cut several flowers with the PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts and stamped the matching stamps from PETALS ‘N POSIES in various ink colors. I cut a couple small labels from the GIVE THANKS LABEL Confetti Cuts and then stamped the sentiments from PAPER CRANE. I took a piece of ribbon and glued it in the middle of the scalloped and plane circles and that’s the bookmark. Super simple and super fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope you have time today to get inky!

By admin
on September 24, 2014

Hey, ‘Fetti Fans!

Today, we have a very special WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

Confetti Crew member, Laurel has created a video with a fun technique using this month’s color challenge colors…

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on September 23, 2014

Hello ‘Fetti Fans and Happy Tuesday!

I just got back from an amaaaazing crafty weekend at a retreat hosted by Confetti Crew members, Amy Kolling and Laurie Willison.  When you open the door and see this sign, you know there are good times ahead.

Awesome

Needless to say, a good time was had by all!

. . . . .

It’s back to work now and it’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY!

This is actually a card that I made for the release, and you may have actually taken a peek at it in the store, but I have held onto blogging it until today.   It’s simple and sweet and I love the way it came out.

The sentiment is from the September release set, IN A BIG WAY it is next to a heart panel created from the CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS and the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts.

BigWay

Detail of the heart panel…

BigWayheartDetail

To create the heart panel, I cut 1 pink circle (CIRCLES ‘N SCALLOPS Confetti Cuts) and 1 white circle.  I cut the large heart (LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts) from the white circles and then popped it up on the pink circle.  Easy peasy and it gives this card just the “umph” I wanted.

For finishing details, I added aqua colored sequins topped with orange enamel dots to coordinated with the orange scalloped edge (DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts).

Confetti Camera

By admin
on September 18, 2014

It’s Thursday and time for a great Confetti Camera where you will learn how to “stretch” your dies…or at least their use!

3) For this round we are focusing on ABC (anything but a card) projects.  Keep your eyes peeled for some fabulous ways to use your Reverse Confetti stamps!

. . . . .

Today on Confetti Camera we have the one and only (my bestie), SUSAN LILES

SusanIntroPic

. . . . .

Hey ‘Fetti Fans!  Are y’all ready to see something fun you can do to make your dies work a little harder for you?  I love finding new ways to use them.

This time, I’ve taken the rounded tag from the new TAGGED TOTE Confetti Cuts and made a sweet little party favor treat holder.

20140917_164156_resized

Here’s what I put together to get started.  The sentiment is from the new IN A BIG WAY stamp set and the frame is stamped and cut from the GIVE THANKS stamp set and cut with the GIVE THANKS LABEL Confetti Cuts die.

20140917_163405_resized(1)

Once I cut 2 of the tags, I scored them at the bottom about a 1/2″ up.  Then placed them on top of one another and glued the circle down to the top of one of them.  Then with my paper piercer, poked a hole through all 3 thicknesses.  I also *very carefully* poked a hole through the center of the cardstock bow.  This will be where a brad will go to hold everything in place.

20140917_163107_resized

20140917_163502_resized

Decorate the front of the tag with the circle on it.  I also added a strip of the stars from the OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts die set.  Fold the bottom of the tags along the score lines, and adhere them together right there.  Fold both sides up.  Put the brad through the bow and both tags and secure.

20140917_164628_resized

These are perfect little treat holders for a “fun size” pack of M & M’s!  A little secret:  If y’all are local, stop by The Little Blue House this Saturday from 10-2.  I’ll be hosting a make-n-take, and you can make one of your very own!

SNCard

Today, you’ll see cards from not only the Confetti Crew, but also from the talented StampNation Design Team HERE.

Not a member yet?  Today’s the last day for the $1 trial (sweet!).  You can get that HEREIt’s a wonderful community of stampers and there is always something new and fun to learn and see!

Catherine is also up today here on the Reverse Confetti blog with her take on the sketch with some of your favorite Reverse Confetti products!  I told you today was special and fun!

First, a note from Catherine herself…

Thank you so much to Jen for having me as a guest designer today and for hosting the challenge at StampNation this week! We have been blown away at the creativity from both Design Teams, but I really shouldn’t have been too surprised! When you are using RC stamps, great things happen! I got to play with Fresh & Fruity and have made FOUR cards with the set. The oranges on this card were Rock and Rolled to create depth and dimension and I couldn’t resist adding Frosted Lace Stickles to the oranges…now they are almost good enough to eat! I hope you enjoy the video – be sure to watch until the end for a little surprise. Check out my blog tomorrow, too for another fun card with this set and an out-of-the-box way to use it.

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on September 10, 2014

Hello and Happy Hump Day!

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

Today, I am focusing on something super simple and a way to get more out of your stamps and Confetti Cuts dies…create your own embellishments.

I’ve done that here on this tag (TAG ME, TOO Confetti Cuts) I attached to a few cookies in a cello bag…

CookieTag

I have to admit, that I first reached for some pre-fabricated embellishments that I bought at a big box store, but then I thought better of it as I looked at the CAST A SPELL stamps on my studio desk.

I layered the broom and and witch hat, both cut from the coordinating CAST A SPELL Confetti Cuts die set.  To dress it up a little, I paper pieced the ribbon around the hat and added a star (OH MY STARS Confetti Cuts) topped with a sequin and rhinestone.

Easy peasy, right?

Here’s a few tips to keep in mind when creating your own embellishments…

Keep it simple.  I stamped in black on kraft paper.  Because of the subdued color, it doesn’t take away from the main focal point, but rather enhances it.  I also want to mention, that I brought this project to the CKC convention last week and A LOT of people commented on how they loved the look of the black on kraft.

Still keeping it simple, layer coordinating images to create a fun, clustered look.

Dress it up a little if needed.  I added the paper pieced strip (same paper as the top of the tag) and the embellished star for just a little pop of color and bling.

. . . . .

I’m keepin’ it short and sweet as I have all your orders to get out the door!  Have a great day!
