Hello and TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

I’m writing this post on Thursday evening as I listen to a light pitter patter against my windows only to look outside to see that it’s raining…ice.  Yes, ice is just falling out of the sky… and accumulating on the ground (eek!).  Needless to say, there may be a slight shipping delay.  Fortunately, living in North Texas also means that this kind of stuff doesn’t hang around for too long (thank goodness!).  We appreciate your patience and will be processing and shipping orders as fast as Mother Nature allows us.

. . . . .

Being that it is Friday, it’s time for our WEEK IN REVERSE where we take a peek at what the fantastically talented CONFETTI CREW has been up to this week…

I love how Val incorporated Reverse Confetti stamps into her scrapping projects.  (Our stamps are designed for all your paper crafting projects).

Forever Fall, Whole Lotta Dots, Arrows ‘n Elements, So Stripey

Savannah always has a unique take on the SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY!  I love her elements that she used where the circles are shown on the sketch…a perfect way to make it her own!

Arrows ‘n Elements, Forever Fall, Celebrate Cake

Stacey is just one of the Confetti Crew designers that has take the Sweet Treat Confetti Cuts die and turned it into a panel on a card…such a fun idea and a great way to get the most use out of your Confetti Cuts dies!

Tinsel ‘n Trim, Bring on the Merry, Sweet Treat Tent Confetti Cuts

Lisa also used the Sweet Treat Tent as a panel on this gorgeous Christmas card.

Sarah has so many fun details on this card and I just adore that gold! Bling, bling!

Inner Rock Star, So Stripey

What a perfect wedding/anniversary combo that Heather created!  Such sweet elegance!

Lots to Say, Tag Me Confetti Cuts, Sweet Treat Tent Confetti Cuts

Susan created an excellent card to have on hand for any friend or family member.

Amy‘s note tags are just too cute!  Love those colors!

Leigh found another use for the tag here on her card…as a sideways panel.

Hello and Happy Thursday, ‘Fetti Friends!

The 8th is quickly approaching and while we don’t have a release this month (remember, every other month), we do have a fabulous blog hop planned filled with lots of Reverse Confetti inspiration.  Of course, there will be a prize up for grabs, too, so mark your calendars and come hop with us!

. . . . .

We’re glad that you are joining us for this week’s Confetti Camera!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations.  For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers.  A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member.  To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

This week the Confetti Camera is zooming in on yours truly. Yep, you are stuck with me today!  And, I’m stuck on kraft, black, red, green and white.  I used this same color palette yesterday and I went ahead and stayed with it for today’s project.  I’ll go ahead and warn you that you may just see it again with my hop project.

Well here it is in all it’s same color palette as yesterday glory…

This card uses the new set, BE A BARISTA.  I love the versatility of this coffee set!  Today I kept it simple and used the solid coffee image, but dressed it up a little bit by using a little tip that I want to share with you.

I love a little bit of sparkle or bling and this little trick is the perfect way to get that perfect amount of shimmer.  The above picture doesn’t capture it, but see the shimmery coffee below.

Here’s what you are going to need…

1. Sakura Stardust Pen

2. Aqua Painter filled with RUBBING ALCOHOL

Tip: Do not go for the cheap aqua painter!  This is definitely a product that you get what you pay for.  The cheaper versions leak and the brush sheds.  You should expect to pay $7-9 for one.

The first thing you are going to do is scribble a little bit of the Sakura Stardust Pen on the coffee around the edges of the coffee image…

Next, using the aqua painter filled with rubbing alcohol, go over the glittered area and spread it all around.  This creates a very thin, but oh-so-sparkly, layer over the coffee image…

Viola!…the perfect touch of shimmer added!

Hello ‘Fetti Fans!

First, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone took part in our “Thankful for You” sale.  All of the orders from the sale have now been sent out and should be arriving in your mailbox shortly.  You may have noticed that a few of our products have sold out.  Many of these are still available at i{heart}papers.  If you would like to receive updates on when these items will be back in stock, please “like” us on Facebook and sign up for our newsletter.

. . . . .

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS.

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  Today we’re focusing on texture and dimension, but a variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

Whenever I get asked to describe my card making style, I have to pause and think.  While I love clean and simple (CAS), I think that the more layered, textured and embellished is more my everyday style.  Of course, ask me this question next week and I may have a completely different answer.

Today I’m sharing with you one of my “more is more” cards using the BRING ON THE MERRY and CELEBRATE CAKE sets from our Key Words Collection and the TAG ME Confetti Cuts…

To create texture on this card, I used a couple different ways to emboss/alter my cardstock.  The white panel is embossed with a embossing folder.  The kraft panel, which is actually 2 TAG ME Confetti Cuts dies put together, was run through my paper crimper (yes, I still use that thing!).

TIP: When using more than one embossed panel on your card/project, vary the size of the embossed pattern.  As you can see the white panel has a small pattern, while the paper crimped panel provides a contrasting larger pattern.  I’ll be revisiting this tip when I chat about pattern paper in a future Wednesday in the Works post.

Texture and dimension is also brought in by using a variety of embellishments: rhinestone, thread and a mini clothespin.

Here’s a shot of the dimension of this card (holy glue dots, Batman!)…

I try to vary which panels are popped up.  The first couple of layers are glued flat and the additional layers are popped up.  I do not generally pop up a panel from its mat, as I like to keep those as “one” piece/panel.

It’s Tuesday and TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY.  It seems like it’s been awhile since I’ve done a TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY card and it felt good to sit down and play!  I have to admit that my mojo may have a little bit of jet lag, but I have some serious studio time planned this week and hope that it will get revved up again.

Today’s card is fairly clean and simple (CAS) features the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set and the TINSEL ‘N TRIM stamp set…

Hello and Happy Monday after a nice long holiday week, ‘Fetti Fans.

Call it a turkey hangover or just a loss of mojo, but I just couldn’t seem to get a card done for yesterday’s post featuring the December Sketch For You to Try.  You know those times when it doesn’t matter what colors or elements that you choose, it just doesn’t come together.  I think I mentioned it in my Confetti Camera post a little while ago that when I have these moments this best thing (in my opinion) to do is to just step away.  So I did.  And, when I came back…nothin’. I stepped and came back again and…nothin’.  Now, there are only so many times I can do this before I start getting a little down, so I decided to just sleep on it.  That seemed to do the trick.  I got up yesterday morning and put this card using LOTS TO SAY together in no time (pardon the overdone inner glow…long, boring Photoshop story there!)…

Detail shot of the main image panel, embossed with chevies to coordinate with the pattern paper.

If you missed yesterday’s post, here’s the sketch once more.  I’m really looking forward to seeing what you do with this one!  Get creative, fun and funky with those circles and make them your own!  Don’t forget to link your project, too!  Just click on the sketch graphic on the sidebar to get to the link list post.

Hello and Happy December, ‘Fetti Fans!

Is anyone else shaking their heads and thinking “How in the world is it December already?”  Something tells me that I am not the only one.

I hope everyone celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday had a wonderfully fun and fabulous time with family and friends!

. . . . .

Well, being that it is December 1st, it’s time for the new SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY!

There will be a new sketch posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 1st of each month.

The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 14th. The sketch will be posted in the sidebar and you will be able to click on it to get to that month’s SFYTT post with the link list during this time.

We originally stated that you must play with Reverse Confetti stamps to win; however, we are allowing “anything goes” until the end of the year. Note, that we will be adding this requirement in January.

You may enter as many times as you wish.

There will be a winner each month and that person will receive a $20 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store and claim the title of ‘Fetti Fave. The winner of SFYTT will be posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 15th of each month.

. . . . .

While I’ll be posting my SFYTT sample tomorrow, there is still lots of incredible inspiration to see today from some of the Confetti Crew…

Hello and Happy Thursday!

In just one week, we will be gathering with family and friends as we celebrate Thanksgiving.  Personally, I’m looking forward to the sugar coma that will be induced by eating some of The Pioneer Woman’s Apple Dumplings after the turkey feast.  If you haven’t made or tried these dumplings, I highly recommend it…for your taste buds, not your waistline. Next week, we will be taking time out of the office and studio to open our hearts to friends and family and to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.  We will be closed Monday through Friday of next week.  Limited shipping hours will resume on Saturday (11/30) and we will be back in the full swing of things the week following Thanksgiving.

. . . . .

While we will certainly enjoy celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday next week, there is something to celebrate this week, too…

The latest addition to our Confetti Crew Design Team, Sarah Gough,  Click on her name to go to her blog and give her a little RC love!

Hi there, I’m Sarah and I live in gorgeous Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. I’m a SAHM (stamp-at-home-mama) to one gorgeous little guy, Jackson. I’m married to Shanan, my high school sweetheart. I’ve been stamping for 8 years or so, when my little guy goes for a nap I get inky! I LOVE Reverse Confetti and I’m so excited to be joining this ultra talented group of stampers. Don’t pinch me, I don’t want to wake up from this dream come true!
