Confetti Camera

Howdy ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s Thursday and time for CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions/show a tip until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

3) For this round we are focusing on how Reverse Confetti stamp sets are compatible with each other and each of the Confetti Crew members is picking two of their favorites to pair together on their project.

Today the spotlight is on the one and only, Stacey Schafer

StaceyIntroPic

Stacey here and I’m thrilled to be and share this super fun birthday card/sticky note holder!  Who says that BEBE BUNNY has to be colored?!  I adore this sweet bunny and love to see her framed up with the LOVE NOTE like this, all subtle and sweet!

Here’s a closeup of Miss Bebe Bunny!  The two stamp sets that I used for my project today are BEBE BUNNY and ALL ABOUT YOU…a perfect pair!

bebe note holder

At CHA in Janaury, one of the make -n- takes was a really cute (and simple) sticky-note holder!  I knew I wanted to try this at home using some of my favorite Reverse Confetti stamps and dies!

Here’s how!

First, score a 4 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock at 5 1/2 and again at 2 3/4.

score

Then, fold the 5 1/2 score line down (like you would for your tent-style card), then fold the 2 3/4 score line up the opposite way.  Attach some strong adhesive and attach another piece of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card stock over the top.fold and adhere

Then, your sticky-note holder is ready for decorating!

The Confetti Cuts: TAG ME, CLASS ACT, and LOVE NOTE were all layered up together to create a fabulous frame and focal point for BEBE BUNNY and some birthday sentiments from ALL ABOUT YOU.

After adding some yummy paper and embellishments including ribbon, button, twine, and epoxy hearts….and this sweet gift is ready for giving!

Thanks for stopping by Reverse Confetti!

I hope you are inspired to create something new today!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on April 09, 2014

Hey there ‘Fetti Fans!

Stop the presses…I got in some studio time and was able to create a fun tag set for this week’s WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS post.

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  A variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

For this week’s segment, I want to chat about using the negative of a die cut, as well as adding some texture to your project.

Tags_Neg

I really had a lot of fun creating these tags and it was easy to whip up 4 of them that I can keep on hand and add to birthday gifts as needed.

First, I cut 4 large tags from white cardstock (TAG ME Confetti Cuts).

Second, I stamp the sentiment from LOTS TO SAY on the top portion of each tag.

Next, I used one of the large flowers from the PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts die set to cut out the flowers on each of the tags.

I then added burlap behind the flower cut and embellished with a flower and leaves from the PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts die set, along with enamel dots.

Tags_detail

Tags_detail1

I love the look and feel that the burlap adds to the negative space on these tags, especially in contrast to those enamel dots!

Since the back of the tag now had a small square of burlap adhered to it, I cut 4 more tags in coordinating pattern paper and attached them to the back to cover it.

April Creative Hop

By admin
on April 08, 2014

Hello and Happy Spring, ‘Fetti Fans!

As you know we release on the 8th of every other month, but we still hop on the 8th of every month.  Being that today is the 8th, we have a fun and inspiration filled hop…and, of course, there is a chance to win up for grabs!

So, grab that cuppa joe, sit back and click on through this amazing hop.  Be sure to leave a comment at each stop along the way for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store.  Comments are open until this Thursday at noon and the winner will be announced on the Week in Reverse post on Friday.  Happy hopping and good luck!

In case of a break in the hop or if you miss a hopper, there is a full list of participants at the end of this post.

. . . . .

The project that I am sharing today is created from our SWEET TREAT TENT Confetti Cuts die.  If you are not familiar with this die, you cut 2 and adhere them together to create a “tent” that can hold a variety of goodies (perfectly sized for snack size M&M’s and like treats).  For this SWEET TREAT TENT project, I used pattern paper and then I embellished it with the BEBE BUNNY image and sentiment.  As you can see here, I stamped her with her glasses on.  The glasses are a separate stamp and she can be created with or without them…

HoppyBirthday

This SWEET TREAT TENT is “topped” with the banner die from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set, along with some grosgrain ribbon, button and linen thread.

Below BEBE BUNNY is a large scallop border cut from our DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts…

WEEK IN REVERSE

By admin
on April 04, 2014

Howdy, Howdy ‘Fetti Fans!

TGIF!  I am ready for the weekend!  Are you?  (stupid question, huh?)

We have our first house guest in our new house and I am sure that we will be doing a little exploring in Houston this weekend.  Hopefully, I will have fun pics and such to share next week.  I may just duck into the studio to create a thing or two, as well. (crossing fingers)

Well, being that it is Friday, it is time for the WEEK IN REVERSE where we take a look back on what the Confetti Crew has been up to this week.  Many of them posted for the new SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY.  You can see that post HERE, as well as all the info on how you can enter to win.

. . . . .

Amy is just too clever!  She used the coffee oval from BE A BARISTA to create this awesome pattern.  She paired it will a simple sentiment from our everyday sentiment set, LOTS TO SAY, to create a perfectly unique any time card…

3.27.14

Lisa created this fun card for a “put a bird on it” using CARTON CUTIES, CARTON CUTIES Confetti Cuts and TAG ME Confetti Cuts.

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again…Heather never fail to WOW with our PEACOCK PRETTIES set!  I love the pattern that she created and the sweet sentiment from ALL ABOUT YOU compliments it perfectly.

Sarah is featured on this week’s episode of Iron Craft.  I love her card using BE A BARISTA and the ARROW Confetti Cuts!

. . . . .

Have a great weekend, and as always…

Today the spotlight is on Confetti Crew member, AMBER HIGHT

AmberIntroPic

Hi there! I’m so happy to be here today with a card for this week’s Confetti Camera post! This go-round, we were challenged to combine TWO stamp sets into one card!

The real challenge, for me, is to keep it to only two! I am so amazed at how well all of our stamp sets can combine! There are soooo many different combinations once you get a few stamp sets!

For this card, I chose to combine the newly released ALL ABOUT YOU and BEAUTIFUL BANNERS.

AprConfCamera1a

I used the heart from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts to cut several hearts from a piece of pink cardstock. I stamped the hearts from WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS in teal ink on a teal cardstock panel.

I mounted the pink heart panel on dimensionals on top of the teal cardstock with dimensionals. Next I added an arrow from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts and some teal sequins. The sentiment is from two different sets. The “for” and “with love” is from Beautiful Banners and the “You” is from All About You

AprConfCamera1c

I stamped the “for you” in the negative of one of the hearts, and the the “with love” on a banner cut out with the BEAUTIFUL BANNERS Confetti Cuts. I finished this card off with a button, twine bown, and some washi tape and that’s it!

I hope you enjoyed my card today!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on April 02, 2014

Hello and Happy Wednesday, ‘Fetti Fans!

We are settling in nicely here in Cypress, TX…and prepping for our first house guests this week.  Needless to say, there hasn’t been a dull moment around here for the past couple weeks! If there are any local ‘Fetti Fans out there, please let me know!

. . . . .

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS!

While I have been keeping busy with all of the behind the scenes stuff for Reverse Confetti, my “studio time” has been next to nothing (sniffle, sniffle).  I did, however, get a little play time last week.  I am sure that many of you can relate to what happens when you are away from your stamps/inks/dies for a while…the mojo is a no go.  So, today I want to chat a little bit about the process I went through to create these cards, which ended up being some of my faves of all time.

The first thing I did was grab some paper I that I bought before the move.  I swear it has been calling my name every time I walk into my office!  Next, I thought about a few of the “techniques” or things that I have liked about past projects and I came up with layering the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die along with the large tag from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set.  I really love creating “tab tuck” cards (created with the OFFICE EDGES Confetti Cuts – tutorial HERE), too, so I put those few things together and came up with this card trio…

CardTrio

I dressed up the layered LOVE NOTE and TAG ME Confetti Cuts with the new PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts.

The tag is stamped with a sentiment from the PAPER CRANE set and was chosen because I thought it was a great sentiment for these cards that are going to the kiddos’ teachers.

CardTrio_detail1

This is just me having some fun with my new camera.  For inquiring minds…SonyHX300.  I have had my eye on a Nikon SLR for a long time, but I haven’t wanted to make that kind of investment.  I came across this one on clearance at Target and I am LOVING it!  Easy to use and I really like the picture quality.

APRIL SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY

By admin
on April 01, 2014

Hello and Happy April Fools Day!

Have you ever played an awesome prank or been pranked on April 1st?  Back in college a friend and I superglued his roommates doors shut while they slept.  I have to admit that was a good one.  Since then, it’s been a little more on the tamer side, but I still look back on that one and chuckle.

. . . . .

The first of April brings much more than silly pranks, it brings a new SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY!

Before I get to that, I want to take a moment for a bittersweet farewell.  Today marks Val’s last day on the Confetti Crew.  I’m hoping for an email at any moment that says “April Fools,” but I know that I will be waiting for a very long time.  Val parts the Confetti Crew to dive into the best job in the whole world…being a grandma.

Val, I love ya and I wish you all the best.  I’m already looking forward to my next SoCal trip!

Week In Reverse

TGIF ‘Fetti Fans!

I hope everyone has fun weekend plans ahead.  It’s more of the same here for the del Muro household…these boxes just will not end!  Of course, a little exploring time and R&R are most definitely in the works, as well as some time to GET INKY!  I had a chance to create yesterday and it felt so good to play again!  I’ll be sharing what I made next week.

Right now it’s time to take a look back at what the Confetti Crew has done this week in the WEEK IN REVERSE.

Lisa did a great job of combining sets to create this fun, sports themed card.

ALL ABOUT YOU, PETALS ‘N POSIES, BEAUTIFUL BANNERS

Val had fun mixing and matching a variety of Confetti Cuts die sets to create this darling journal for a lil’ friend of hers.

TAG ME, PETALS ‘N POSIES, OFFICE EDGES, LOVE NOTE, WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS, WHOLE LOTTA DOTS

Val also created this card that I am swooning over!

PETALS ‘N POSIES, PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts, TAG ME Confetti Cuts, ALL ABOUT YOU, WHOLE LOTTA DOTS

Leigh’s card is so soft and elegant.  I love the multi-colored feather.

PAPER CRANE, PEACOCK PRETTIES

With Teacher Appreciate just around the corner, Amber is the perfect muse with this card!

CLASS ACT, CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts

Sarah’s card is a showstopper!

PEACOCK PRETTIES, PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts

Heather never ceases to amaze me with her use of PEACOCK PRETTIES (and embossing powder)!

PEACOCK PRETTIES, LOTS TO SAY

Stacey’s card is fun and full of color!  I love the combo of stamps here!

Confetti Camera

By admin
on March 27, 2014

Hello there, ‘Fetti Fans!

Yes, it’s been a little quiet here on the Reverse Confetti blog.  My intention was to be getting inky by now, but that hasn’t exactly been the case as the boxes seem to be multiplying as we unpack them.  Who knew we had so much stuff?  I keep thinking that minimalist must have it made when moving!  Needless to say, I do not fall into that category.  With most of the moving turbulence in our rear view, we are settling in nicely to our new home, neighborhood and schools (both kiddos started this week).  Getting inky is top priority, although I am a little worried about my stamping mojo.

Confetti Camera project…

DSC02529

I couldn’t wait to dive into our newest Confetti Camera round and gladly went first!  Don’t y’all LOVE how easily all of Reverse Confetti’s stamps work so well together?

DSC02534

I chose to use the little notebook sheet image (times two!) from the CLASS ACT stamp set and Confetti Cuts as a backdrop for my main focal point of my card.  Then I grabbed my GO TOGETHER set and put “together” a sweet sentiment, popping up the “together” onto a BEAUTIFUL BANNER Confetti Cut.  The aqua piece of the sentiment is a partial cut also from the CLASS ACT Confetti Cuts dies.  I love getting more from my dies and finding other ways to use them!  Finally, a few cuts from the PETALS ‘N POSIES Confetti Cuts dies in white and popped up on foam boosters made for some fun flowers to finish off my card.
