A COUPLE OF ANNOUNCEMENTS

By admin
on November 21, 2013

Hello and Happy Thursday!

In just one week, we will be gathering with family and friends as we celebrate Thanksgiving.  Personally, I’m looking forward to the sugar coma that will be induced by eating some of The Pioneer Woman’s Apple Dumplings after the turkey feast.  If you haven’t made or tried these dumplings, I highly recommend it…for your taste buds, not your waistline. Next week, we will be taking time out of the office and studio to open our hearts to friends and family and to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.  We will be closed Monday through Friday of next week.  Limited shipping hours will resume on Saturday (11/30) and we will be back in the full swing of things the week following Thanksgiving.

. . . . .

While we will certainly enjoy celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday next week, there is something to celebrate this week, too…

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on November 20, 2013

Hello, ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS.

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  Today we’re focusing on the SWEET TREAT TENT Confetti Cuts die, but a variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

As I mentioned last week, and maybe (just maybe) a *few* other times, I adore making little gifties.  So, when I set out to create something for this week’s Wednesday in the Works post I knew that I wanted to revisit making fun gifties…using the *new* SWEET TREAT TENT Confetti Cuts die.

I*love* this die for so many reasons.  First, it’s simple.  You cut 2, adhere them together, add a treat and embellish…viola, instant giftie.

On the flipside, there’s so much more you can do with it!  There are so many things you can do with it! (click on Confetti Crew names to connect with specific projects)  Susan created an elongated version to hold full size candy bars, Amy K. created a bag topper/handle, Amber made it into a card, Val turned it into a gift card holder and I did a project where I used each cut as the cover/pages in a mini album…that’s just to name a few!  I know the possibilities don’t stop there and I can’t wait to see what you do with it!

The project today is super simple, but gives it a different look.  I simply cut 2 from pattern paper and then added score lines at 2.5″ and 4″ (from the bottom/straight edge) as well as a 2″ spacer to connect the bottom pieces to create this fun giftie…

SweetTreatTent

Side view (filled with a yummy blonde brownie)…

SweetTreatTent_side

I keep the embellishing super simple by just adding a sweet lil’ tag I created using the BRING ON THE MERRY along with some baker’s twine and jingle bells…

It’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY, and I am featuring another card using this color combo.  Today, I am pairing it with our HAPPY HARBOR and SO STRIPEY stamp sets…

I love how Confetti Crew Member, Laurie Schmidlin, added Kraft to this combo HERE.  It looks great and is the perfect neutral to pair with these colors.  I decided to use kraft on the small flag-ended panel on my card.  I topped it with the pinked circle focal panel with the sentiment and two anchors from HAPPY HARBOR.

I love these colors together!  They are perfect for more masculine cards and they make for a fun fall color scheme.

For my card today, I used a combination of three sets: So Stripey, Whole Lotta Dots and Lots to Say.  These are three go-to sets for me, as they are fun and easy to use!

Of course, the Confetti Crew has cooked up lots more inspiration using these colors, too!  Click on their pics to see what they made.

CONFETTI CAMERA

By admin
on November 14, 2013

Hey there, ‘Fetti Fans!

We’re glad that you are joining us for this week’s Confetti Camera!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations.  For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers.  A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member.  To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

This week the Confetti Camera is zooming in on Confetti Crew member SUSAN LILES. Susan is the fearless leader (a.k.a. Design Team Coordinator) for the Confetti Crew.

HER HOW-TO…

For my project today, I’ve made a super easy, “elongated” Sweet Treat Tent and I’m sharing a few pictures to show y’all how easy it was to make.  First, let me start with the “topper” (dk. brown).  I scored and folded a piece of cardstock in half.  Then I lined it up on the SWEET TREAT TENT die right under the die’s score line over the oval, lightly taped it down, and die cut it.  This kept the fold I had originally made intact.

DSC02294

Trim the bottom of the topper to the desired length.

DSC02295

For the bottom part (kraft), I simply made the the sweet treat tent the normal way.  (Cut 2 pieces and adhere at the bottom after folding where scored.)  Then I just glued the “topper” to the outside of the bottom “tent”, covering it right below the oval handles on the kraft piece.

DSC02297

I decorated the front using the TAG ME die stamped in SO STRIPEY, and stamped the little flag banner using TINSEL ‘N TRIM.  Use glue dots to adhere Hershey bars or treat of your choice inside!

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

Just as a quick reminder, the November SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY is still open, but just until tomorrow at noon.  You can find the link to it on the

sidebar to the left.  Happy stamping and good luck!

Our **NEW** COLOR CHALLENGE will be introduced this Saturday, November 16th.

Are you local? Join us this Saturday for a Make ‘n Take at The Little Blue House in Keller.  See you there!

. . . . .

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS.

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  Today we’re focusing on QUICK GIFTIES, but a variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

I adore making lil’ gifties…almost as much as I love Halloween! (wink).

With the holidays quickly approaching, it’s nice to have a few quick gifts (and stocking stuffers) on hand for friends, family, neighbors, teachers and hostesses.  Today I am sharing with a you a fast (and funny!) giftie.  And, while mass production is not my favorite thing, I will say that these are perfect for mass production.  I have already made 6, and I am sure that I will make more to have on hand.

MerryTreatBagsInBowl

To create these, I grabbed some mini kraft bags (from Hobby Lobby) that I have been hoarding forever.  I stamped the horizontal stripes from SO STRIPEY across the lower portion of the bag in white pigment ink (I love white pigment ink on kraft!).  I then added the “eat, drink & be” and “for tomorrow we diet” sentiments from the *new* BRING ON THE MERRY set in black pigment ink.  The flag-ended banner is cut from our *new* TAG ME Confetti Cuts and is stamped with “MERRY” (BRING ON THE MERRY).  I popped up the banner with dimensional adhesive, as well as the “dec. 25” circle from TINSEL ‘N TRIM.  To embellish this cute lil’ giftie, I added black and white baker’s twine tied in a bow, a punched star and red sequins.  What’s inside?, you ask.  Twix Santas!…yum!  I think I’ll add a Starbucks gift card to a few of these and give them to my kid’s teachers when Christmas gets a little closer.

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on November 12, 2013

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

I want to thank you all for such a wonderful release!  It was so fun introducing these new products to you.  We have already sold out of the TAG ME Confetti Cuts.  It has been re-ordered and I will post a “back in stock” update just as soon as they are in my hot lil’ hands.

Just as a quick reminder, the November SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY is still open.  You can find the link to it on the sidebar to the left.  Happy stamping and good luck!

Our **NEW** COLOR CHALLENGE will be introduced on Saturday, November 16th.

. . . . .

Well, it’s Tuesday and other than just being the day after Monday, it’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY!

Last month, I had a hard time putting down the Halloween stamps on my desk.  I have a feeling that I am going to face the same battle with our Christmas stamps.  For my card today, I reached for BRING ON THE MERRY along with SO STRIPEY ( and the previously released, WHOLE LOTTA DOTS) stamped in VersaMark…

TFACT1112

The sentiment is stamped in three different colors, just one of the fun things you can do with the KEY WORD COLLECTION sets, like BRING ON THE MERRY.  While I love the classic red and green color palette, it’s fun to change it up a little and go with a non-traditional scheme.  For this card I used pink, olive, gray, yellow and black.  I think I’ll be putting a few of these colors in my back pocket for a future color challenge.  I originally had an aqua colored panel as part of this card, but I chose to take it away as it didn’t seem to add anything as it was.  There’s still a smidge of aqua there…the rhinestones. Gotta have that lil’ bit of bling!

TFACT1112_detail

These stamps (and dies!) will be hitting a lot of your mailboxes this week.  I’m looking forward to seeing what you make!
