Confetti Camera

Howdy and Happy Thursday!

Being that it’s Thursday, it’s time for CONFETTI CAMERA!

In this weekly segment, one of the Confetti Crew designers will have the camera on both themselves, as a designer, and on their Reverse Confetti creations. For this round, you’ll get a dose of Reverse Confetti inspiration from a fun tip or technique from each of our designers. A couple of things to note:

1) This segment will not “air” if there is a different post scheduled for that day, such on Sketch for You to Try on the 1st of each month or on a hop or sneak peek day.

2) Each designer will answer the same set of questions/show a tip until we have featured every Confetti Crew Design Team Member (then it’s a new round with new questions/theme). To see previous Confetti Camera post, simply click on “Confetti Camera” under the categories link on our sidebar.

. . . . .

Today the spotlight is on Confetti Crew member, Val Stangle

Here’s her darling Confetti Camera project using WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS (heart background), CRUSHIN’ (sentiment); SWEET TREAT TENT, LOVE NOTE, ARROW and TAG ME Confetti Cuts…

RC - Feb2014MomslunchUC

For my project today I created shortened Sweet Treat Tent candy treat containers for my mom’s critique group luncheon.  Die cuts don’t always have to be used as is and in this picture tutorial I will show you how I shortened them to create a smaller, more compact, treat holder to hold 4 little Dove chocolate morsels for her luncheon guests.

2.TrimTab

3.Trim4inches

After die cutting, shortening, stamping, die cutting a window and adhering together, it’s time to decorate the front of the treat holder.  I used the same heart from Love Note to die cut another heart from patterned paper which I topped with a gold die cut Arrow.  I adhered both to the left of the die cut heart on the Sweet Treat Tent.  A stamped banner with a Valentine greeting from Crushin’ is adhered above the hearts and arrow before adding the cello wrapped candy inside and tying it all off with a big red grosgrain knotted bow.

These will look so cute with her Valentine themed table, I can’t wait to hear what a hit they were with her artist friends!

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on February 04, 2014

Hello and Happy Tuesday, ‘Fetti Fans!

For those of you following our Dallas to Houston adventure, there are no real updates today.  Our house here is officially on the market and we are still waiting on some information on the house in Houston.  Stay tuned!  I gotta say that all this moving business is cutting into my creative time!  Don’t these people know that I love creating for Valentine’s Day?

. . . . .

It’s Tuesday and time for TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY!

Today, I am playing around with our current SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY challenge.  If you would like to play along, too, just click on the sketch on the sidebar to the left for all the details and link list.

Here’s this month’s sketch…

SFYTT9_Feb14

I changed it up just a little and made it into a square card.  Feel free to make this sketch your own.  As long as the “bones” are there, it’s all good!

FebSFYTT

This card uses a variety of Reverse Confetti products…  The embossed white panel is embellished with the small scallops from the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts.  The main image panel is the large tag from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts die set and it is stamped with a GO TOGETHER sentiment and topped with the banner, also from TAG ME and the large hearts from LOVE NOTE (back in stock later this week).  I just adore the small heart border (seen here in black and white polkas) from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts!  This tag is super sweet on this card, but would be just as cute attached to a package!

It has been a whirlwind of a week over here!  As I noted yesterday, change is upon our family…we are moving!  I’m going to take you on this journey with me.  I won’t have updates everyday, nor will I bore you with every minute detail,  but I’ll be keeping you in the loop and hope that you will share your experiences, too.  For those of you that are interested…we are moving to Houston, TX because of my hubby’s job.  Fortunately, I can do Reverse Confetti from just about anywhere, so nothing is changing (other than location) here.

So, as of today, we in contract to purchase a home in Houston.  I am a bit nervous as the inspection report came back with a few (big) red flags.  This was to be expected, as we are purchasing a home that is a little older.  Hopefully, we can come to an agreement on what needs to be done.  I’ll know more next week when we have area specialists review the inspection report and the home.  Wish us luck!

. . . . .

It’s Friday and time for WEEK IN REVERSE! The Confetti Crew has been busy this week creating cards and projects that are sure to inspire!

Val is so super clever!  I love this magnetic board to hold dies so they don’t get lost in the paper crafty craziness that I know happens on everyone’s desks!

Color Challenge Winner + Confetti Camera

By admin
on January 30, 2014

Howdy, ‘Fetti Fans!

This post is chock full of exciting news. This first bit is personal to me and my family…we are moving! EEK! For those of you that have followed me for a little while and are thinking, “Didn’t you just move?” you are right. This will be our second move within 2 years…double EEK! I’ve moved enough throughout my adult life and feel like a pro. But, even with that pro status it’s a bit stressful. The plan is to keep life and business as normal as possible. I’ll keep you posted as all the fun events of the weeks and months to come unfold.

. . . . .

Next up in the exciting news of the day…the winner of the January Color Challenge.

First, THANK YOU to everyone that played along. There were so many A-MAAAAAA-ZING entries and it was so hard to pick just one. But, alas, there could be just one winner…

Here’s Kim’s card using BE A BARISTA, which will be back in stock tonight…

rc_cc_project_6

Hey there, ‘Fetti Fans! I’m thrilled to be on the Confetti Camera today to share a couple of technique tips! There are two techniques, in particular, that I want to show you today…stenciling with embossing paste AND loopy twine!

rc_cc_supplies_1_edited-1

Here is a photo of the supplies that I gathered for my project.

Paper Crane

Arrow

Love Note

Double Edge Scallop Border

Burlap Canvas, Stencil, Embossing Paste, Twine, Paper, Ink, Adhesive

rc_cc_paste_2_edited-1

Embossing paste can be applied to a variety of surfaces. Here I spread the paste over the stencil onto the canvas using a piece of folded card stock. For more texture, like this, apply liberally (almost a little clumpy) instead of smoothing it out.

rc_cc_paste_3_edited-1

Gently lift the stencil and allow a few minutes to dry.

rc_cc_twine_4_edited-1

I am asked a lot about my twine loops. There is no secret to the looping other than the twine that you choose. My favorite twine is Hemptique 10 lb. Hemp Cord…it’s durable and holds it shape better than baker’s twine.

Here, I have wrapped the twine around the canvas and secured with a knot, leaving long tails.

rc_cc_twine_5_edited-1

Next, I wrap an extra piece of twine around my fingers and tie it into place with the already wrapped twine…for a “lasso” looking effect.

rc_cc_project_closeup7

Here’s a closeup photo of my finished canvas that’s been Reverse Confetti-fyed!

Thanks so much for stopping by Reverse Confetti today! I hope you’re inspired to try some new techniques!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

I’m just back from a quick road trip this weekend.  There will be lots more on that to come, but for today’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY I have a project to share from this weekend’s make ‘n take at The Little Blue House

MnTLBH

This sweet Valentine treat was created by stamping the outlined solid hearts from WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS on the scallop rectangle panel cut from LOVE NOTE.  It’s topped with a M&M filled clear pillow box tied off with red and white baker’s twine.  The sentiment is built from the SWEET THING set from our Key Words Collection and is stamped on the banner from the TAG ME Confetti Cuts and backed with the large heart from theLOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts die set.

Today the spotlight is on Confetti Crew member, LISA HENKE

LisaHIntroPic

Here’s Lisa’s project using WHOLE LOTTA HEARTS, CRUSHIN’ and the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts…

cc-spotlight heart card

Hello! I’m so happy to be here today and have the chance to share a quick and easy technique to show off your sentiments and dies. I loved the comments I had on THIS tag.

I did for the latest release. I wanted to show you how this Spotlight Technique can help your words pop in a few easy steps!

I am still in the LOVE mood, so I have a lovey card today to show off one of my favorite sentiments from the new Crushin’ stamp set. I used the smallest heart from Love Notes Confetti Cuts to add that WOW factor with this Spotlight Technique.

Here’s how.

CC-spotlight heart1

1. Cut out the papers you want to use for your sentiment. You’ll need two different colors or patterns. My base will be the polka dotted print and the grey is for my Heart and will be the Spotlight.

 CC-spotlight heart 2

2. Stamp your sentiment on the base piece of paper first.

CC- spotlight heart 3

3. On your Spotlight shape (really can be anything: circles, paper strips, and even hearts like I did here) stamp your sentiment again in the same colored ink.

 CC-spotlight heart 4

4. Line up your Spotlight piece over top of the base paper. Take great care that you have all your lines matched up. I like to do this first without adhesive to get a feel for exactly where it goes. Once you have it just right…..Add adhesive.

That’s it. I hope you’ll give it a try.

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS

By admin
on January 22, 2014

Howdy and Happy Wednesday, ‘Fetti Fans!

It’s Wednesday and time for WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS.

What is WEDNESDAY IN THE WORKS? It’s not really about one thing in particular, but rather “the works” of a stamped card or project.  Today we’re focusing on creating subtle texture and dimension using tone on tone cardstock …, but a variety of topics will be covered in this segment… from color combos to shaped cards to inspiration pieces to mixing and matching stamps and/or papers…and everything in between.

I love using white cardstock…even on top of white cardstock.  By doing this, I can create subtle texture and dimension.  Of course, you can do this using any color.  Here’s what I came up with using my favorite, white on white, with the new ARROW Confetti Cuts (and sentiment from CRUSHIN’)…

ToneOnTone

The scalloped edge was created using the new DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER Confetti Cuts.  I cut it out from pattern paper because I did not want to use all solids and I like the subtle detail that it provides.

Detail shot, with a pop of (rose) red from the heart cut from the LOVE NOTE Confetti Cuts…

ToneOnTone_detail

To create additional dimension, you can stack 3-4 of the same die cut on top of each other.  Here, I added white enamel dots for added texture and detail.

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on January 21, 2014

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

I know many of you have been waiting for this happy news…

* * *TAG ME and SWEET TREAT TENT Confetti Cuts are back in stock* * *

. . . . .

This TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY is actually featuring a gift bag rather than a card (YAY!) that I’ll be filling with some Valentine’s treats…

SweetTreatBag

While I’ll be filling this bag with Valentine’s treats, I’ll be using this design over and over again!

I started with this cute Whisker Graphics gift sack and then added a sweet Reverse Confetti touch!  I stamped the words SWEET and TREATS from the SWEET THING stamp set and then added the three ARROW Confetti Cuts.   The heart is cut from the LOVE NOTES Confetti Cuts and it added that perfect pop of pink.  I liked that “pop” so much that I added it to the top of the bag, too, by folding over a TAG ME Confetti Cuts tied off with aqua baker’s twine and orange linen thread.

Detail shot, showing the little pop of bling I added at the end for a bit of sparkle…
