LOOKING FORWARD

By admin
on May 23, 2013

Happy Thursday, ‘Fetti Fans!

I can imagine that you are all busy lil’ bees this time of year.  We’re wrapping up school with the kiddos, prepping for summer and looking forward to a few things here at REVERSE CONFETTI.  One of those things is SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY.  If you were a follower of my personal blog, iheart2stamp.com (update on that below), you are familiar with SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY or SFYTT.

Well, sadly iheart2stamp.com is currently in blogosphere heaven.  I’m not a technical person, but I have been told that it was not updated properly (oops!) and no longer supported the version of php that I was using.  Translation: it went kaput.  I had, for the most part, stopped blogging there; however, we (<–meaning hubby) is trying to restore the older posts so that they can be accessed.  SFYTT was a big part of my blogging adventures there and I look forward to continuing with those fun sketches here on the Reverse Confetti blog.

You may have noticed the badge on the sidebar, but if not I am here to tell you today that SFYTT will be back on JUNE 1st!

SFYTT2

Some details about the Reverse Confetti version of SFYTT:

There will be a new sketch each month.  The first one will be posted on June 1st.

The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 14th. The sketch will be posted in the sidebar and you will be able to click on it to get to that month’s SFYTT post with the link list.

Reverse Confetti stamps must take center stage in your creation to be eligible to be the SFYTT winner.

We will be adding this requirement after the first of the year.  For now, anything goes!

You may enter as many times as you wish.

There will be a winner each month and that person will receive ALL OF THE STAMP SETS for the next release and be invited to share their creations during our sneak peeks and hop!  The winner of SFYTT will be posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 15th of each month.

Be ready to play along June 1st!

TIME FOR A CARD (OR TWO!) TUESDAY

By admin
on May 21, 2013

Greetings ‘Fetti Friends and Fans!

I’d first like to take a moment to say that our hearts go out to all of those affected by the tornadoes in Texas last week and in Oklahoma yesterday. I grabbed this sign on Facebook yesterday and wanted to share it here…

OK

. . . . .

It’s TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY, where I get to share a bit of inspiration using REVERSE CONFETTI stamps.  This week, I’m getting inky with the HAPPY HARBOR set.  This first card has lots of layers and elements…

This second card follows the same color scheme, but is a little more tame when it comes to layers and elements…

It’s hard to play favorites, but I think that the large anchor and small anchor border might be my favorite images in this set…of course, that will probably change next time I play with this set!

TIME FOR A CARD TUESDAY

By admin
on May 14, 2013

Well, we’re starting to get into the groove of things here at REVERSE CONFETTI. I hope you like what you’ve seen so far…as there’s lots more up ahead!

Yesterday, you saw that we will post our ‘Fetti Finds, along with a new link list for that week every Monday.  If you missed yesterday’s post, be sure to check it out so you can find out how you can get Reverse Confetti stamps before they are released!

On Tuesdays, you will find more inspiration using Reverse Confetti stamps on our Time For a Card Tuesday posts.  Of course there will be cards shared, but I may choose to do a tag or other project featuring our stamps.  I think I may be getting talked into doing it in video form, too.  While that won’t be immediate, be sure to stay tuned!

. . . . .

This week’s Time For A Card Tuesday features our just released set, PEACOCK PRETTIES.  My go-to colors for this set have been the traditional color scheme of peacock feathers…blues, greens and purples.  I wanted to break that mold and mix it up a little with some pink and oranges.  I stuck with the aqua, because it compliments the other colors nicely…and it was just sitting on my desk begging to be used.

PinkPeacock

The peacock feathers were stamped in bright pink on a white panel so they would POP, even with the sentiment on top of it.  The feather “eye” and “Live.Laugh.Love” sentiment were both stamped repeatedly in VersaMark watermark ink to give a subtle appearance that adds to the overall design of the card.

I love this sentiment, as it applies to every creative soul that I know and it’s such a great motivational quote…perfect for those graduates!  Truth be told, I did not originally have it stamped in black on aqua paper.  In fact, I tried a few different color combinations, but I love the way that the black ink makes the smallest panel on the card stand out, and the aqua ties into the other aqua panel…

PinkPeacock_detail

For finishing touches, I rounded the corners of the card and added some coordinating enamel dots.

ARE YOU A ‘FETTI FIND?

By admin
on May 13, 2013

Hello and Happy Monday ‘Fetti Friends!  I hope you all enjoyed a nice spring Mother’s Day weekend.  I was super spoiled by my kiddos and hubby.  I got to sleep in…until my 3 year old came bombing in, screaming “Happy Mudder’s Day! Wake UUUUUUP!”  Fortunately, my hubby knows me very well and immediately handed me a large cup of coffee…which was followed up by breakfast in bed (a yummy bagel sandwich) and handmade cards and gifties from the kiddos.  All that, along with a trip to the park, movie (and nap!) on the couch and dinner out made it a day to remember!

. . . . .

We celebrated our moms this weekend, and now Reverse Confetti is celebrating (the creative side of )YOU!  Many of you have Reverse Confetti stamps in your hands already and many more soon will, and we want to see what you are creating…and give you a chance to win more Reverse Confetti stamps (even before you can buy them)!

CLEAN AND SIMPLE WITH PEACOCK PRETTIES

By admin
on May 10, 2013

WOW!  What a week! Thank you all for the wonderfully warm reception. Many of you have stamps on the way to you already and I see that a few of you have them already!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with using REVERSE CONFETTI stamps!  Speaking of seeing what you make, we are in the process of getting a gallery set up for you to upload your Reverse Confetti creations. For now, please link them on our Facebook Page.

. . . . .

Today, I am sharing a card using the *just released* set, PEACOCK PRETTIES.  It’s actually the very first card that I made using REVERSE CONFETTI stamps.  I had the sketch and colors for this card in my head long before I even had the stamps in my hand.  While the card does have a few layers, I still consider the overall design clean and simple.

PeacockPretties_HelloFriend

The rectangular green and purple panels have been stamped in Versamark repeatedly with the “feather eye” graphic.  Although I have a (strong) admiration for pattern paper, I love when I can make my own and it’s even better when it pulls the whole theme/look of a project together.

The peacock feather on the main focal panel is embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder.  It is so shimmery!

PeacockPretties_HelloFriend_detail

The “hello friend” sentiment is one of the sentiments included in this set.  I always like to have friend/just because cards on hand so I can reach for them as needed.  While this one might not go anywhere since it’s my very first Reverse Confetti card, I know that several more like it will be made for my stash.

NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP

By admin
on May 08, 2013

Hello and welcome to the first ever Reverse Confetti NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP!  We’re celebrating our first release in a BIG way!  Not only is the CONFETTI CREW going to share with you some new release inspiration, but we have lot of friends that are here to launch Reverse Confetti, too.  So, sit back, relax and enjoy the hop.  And, in case you get lost along the way, there is a full list of hoppers at the bottom of this post.

. . . . .

All four sets are now available in the REVERSE CONFETTI STORE

For the crafter/glitter girl in all of us, here’s a card using the I LIKE YOU set…

Glitter

I had a lot of fun creating this card, although I am pretty sure that I still have glitter my eye from it!  While the glitter was spark-a-lay enough on it’s own, I decided to kick it up a notch and make it even more fun with sequins and rhinestones.

To create the glittered panel, I used circle sticky dots in various sizes on a single white cardstock panel and then sprinkled yellow, orange and pink NEON glitter (a purchase I completely blame on Susan Opel) over the dots.  Then I cut the panel in half and flipped one so that the colors were opposite.  The sentiment panel covers up the seam.

Glitter_detail

Before I send you on your way to the next stop on the hop, I wanted to share our local launch party information.  If you’re local, be sure to stop by for a make and take!  See you there!
